Quantitative detection of ING1 mRNA under different gene regulation based on molecular beacon

The effects of drug treatment, gene transfection, and p53 RNA interference (RNAi) on level of ING1 mRNA in tumor cells were quantitatively detected with the help of ING1 molecular beacon (MB)/cRNA standard curve based on MB detection technology. Results showed that the level of ING1 mRNA could be upregulated by 5-FU treatment or ING1 transfection in low expression cell line of MCF-7 and be inhibited by silencing p53 with RNAi technology in normal expression cell line of CNE2. The level of ING1 varied from 7.7×10?16.to 53.4× 10?16.mol/μg total RNA of tumor cells. The results not only provided evidence for the regulation effects of gene expression but also were applied to investigat- ing the interaction of multigenes on signal transduc- tion pathway.

The Annual Report on Cardiovascular health and Diseases in china(2022)intricate landscape of cardiovascular health in *** is the third section of the report with a specific focus on community-based prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases(CVD).This section of the report underscores the importance of initiatives outlined in the"healthy china 2030 Plan,"emphasizing the comprehensive prevention and control strategy for chronic diseases.A key aspect of this plan involves the establishment of national demonstration areas aimed at comprehensive prevention and control of chronic *** 2020,488 such areas had been set up across china,surpassing the initial target and covering a significant proportion of counties and *** report highlights the successful implementation of these strategies in Lishan district,Anshan city,where demonstration areas for comprehensive prevention and control of chronic diseases were launched in *** the course of seven years,the number of healthy units increased substantially,leading to improvements in managing risk factors for CVD among *** reductions in prevalence rates of overweight,obesity,smoking,passive smoking,and drinking were observed,along with the development of healthier behaviors among ***,Qiaokou district in Wuhan City,designated as a national demonstration area in 2014,implemented comprehensive public health promotion ***,special clinics for hypertension intervention were established,contributing to an increase in self-reported rates of hypertension,a slight decrease in prevalence,and a remarkable improvement in the control rate among treated ***,these efforts underscore the effectiveness of community-based approaches in driving positive health outcomes and advancing the comprehensive prevention and control of chronic diseases,particularly cardiovascular diseases,in china.

Bruton’s tyrosine kinase inhibitors(BTKis)have revolutionized the treatment of B-cell ***,safety issues related to the use of BTKis may hinder treatment continuity and further affect clinical efficacy.A comprehensive and systematic expert consensus from a pharmacological perspective is lacking for safety issues associated with BTKi treatment.A multidisciplinary consensus working group was established,comprising 35 members from the fields of hematology,cardiovascular disease,cardio-oncology,clinical pharmacy,and evidencebased *** evidence-based expert consensus was formulated using an evidence-based approach and the Delphi *** Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal(JBI)tool and Grading of Recommendations Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)approach were used to rate the quality of evidence and grade the strength of recommendations,*** consensus provides practical recommendations for BTKis medication based on nine aspects within three domains,including the management of common adverse drug events such as bleeding,cardiovascular events,and hematological toxicity,as well as the management of drug-drug interactions and guidance for special *** multidisciplinary expert consensus could contribute to promoting a multi-dimensional,comprehensive and standardized management of BTKis.

The role of chinese expert consensus in standardization and improvement of the clinical diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is self-evident. As clinical and basic research in china becomes standardized under a better understanding of IBD, more data on chinese patients have become available to develop a consensus and guideline. This guideline, collaboratively developed by the IBD Group, chinese Society of Gastroenterology, incorporates the latest international consensus statements, domestic research findings, and practical considerations, as an update based on the 2018 chinese consensus on IBD management. The IBD guideline consists of two parts: ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease, and this manuscript presented the UC part. The evidence used in this guideline was collected and analyzed by the standard of guideline, and the contents were organized as problem statements, for clarity. The formulation of this guideline aimed to reflect the latest progress in IBD, providing comprehensive and valuable guidance for the clinical management of IBD.

Optical characteristics and environmental pollutants detection of porous silicon microcavities

Porous silicon microcavities (PSM) optical crystals consisting of a Fabry-Perot microcavity embedded between two distributed Bragg reflectors have been fabricated by electrochemical etching. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) clearly depicted their physical sandwich construction. The optical feature of the PSM structure was tuned by varying the anodization parameters. Through proper thermal oxidation and surface chemical modifications, the resulting structures were employed as optical sensors for the detection of environmental pollutants including volatile organic vapors (i.e. acetonitrile, toluene, cyclohexane, chloroform, acetone and ethanol) and interior decoration gases (i.e. toluene, ammonia and formaldehyde). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectra confirmed the effective thermal annealing and surface modification chemistry, and the sensing process was accompanied by recording the modified structures' optical responses when exposed to target analytes. The PSM optical sensors showed good stability, sensitivity and selectivity, implying promising applications in gas sensing and en- vironmental monitoring.

Editorial comment Translational medicine is a new discipline which aims to eliminate the barrier between preclinical and clinical medicine. Here, Dr. Li discusses the application of translational medicine in the research, teaching and clinical work of Prof. Liu Shih-Hao, the founder of endocrinology in china, who was particularly renowned for his early work in calcium and phosphorus metabolism. This well-known success story can be traced back to an early appreciation of translational medicine by Prof. Liu Shih-Hao, and serves as an important and revelatory lesson for us all.
