The microstructure evolution of the Zr60Al15.i25.metallic glass during rolling at room temperature is investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC); high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HREM). The results show that the values of full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the XRD patterns; exothermic enthalpy ΔH of DSC plots do not monotonically change with the variation of deformation degrees . As is not large than 20%, the values of FWHM; ΔH are lower than that of the as-cast state. When reaches 3.%, the values of FWHM; ΔH become larger than that of the as-cast state, while their values begin to decrease again as reaches about 85.. These results indicate that the reversible transitions between ordered; disordered {3. configurations occur during rolling, which is further verified by the HREM images. The reversible phase transition can be explained by the competition between the diffusion controlled reordering; shear-induced disordering during rolling.

The magnetic coupling interactions of the nitronyl nitroxide radicals bound to diamagnetic(YⅢ) and paramagnetic(GdⅢ) rare earth ions in two model magnetic systems based on novel rare earth organic radical complexes Ln(hfac)3.NITPhOCH3.2(Ln=YⅢ 1,GdⅢ 2;hafc = hexafluoroacetylacetonate;NIT-PhOCH3.= 4'-methoxyo-phenyl-4,4,5.5.tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3.oxide) have been investigated by density functional theory(DFT).The magnetic coupling mechanisms were also explored from the viewpoint of molecular orbital and spin density *** calculations show that the empty 4d-orbitals of YⅢ and 5.-orbitals of GdⅢ play an important role in the antiferromagnetic coupling between the two nitronyl nitroxide radical ligands,and that the ferromagnetic coupling between the GdⅢ ion and the radical magnetic centers can be attributed to the nearly complete localization of the isotropic 4f-shell and singly occupied magnetic orbital(π) of the nitronyl nitroxide.

Acylpeptide hydrolase （APH） catalyzes the N-terminal hydrolysis of Nα-acylpeptides to releaseNα-acylated amino acids. The crystal structure of recombinant APH from the thermophilic archaeon Aeropyrumpernix K1 （apAPH） was reported recently to be at a resolution of 2.1 （?） using X-ray diffraction.A truncatedmutant of apAPH that lacks the first short α-helix at the N-terminal,apAPH-△（1-21）,was cloned,expressed,characterized and *** from biochemical experiments indicate that the optimum temperature ofapAPH is decreased by 15. with the deletion of the N-terminal α-***,the enzyme activity at theoptimal temperature does not *** suggests that this N-terminal α-helix is essential for ***,the crystal structure of apAPH-△（1-21） has been determined by molecular replacement to 2.5.（?）. Acomparison between the two structures suggests a difference in thermostability,and it can be concluded thatby adding or deleting a linking structure （located over different domains）,the stability or even the activity ofan enzyme can be modified.

The cerium ion(Ce4+) doped titania sol and nanocrystallites were prepared by chemical coprecipitation-peptization and hydrothermal synthesis methods, respectively. The X-ray diffraction pattern shows that Ce4+-TiO2 xerogel powder has semicrystalline structure and thermal sintering sample has crystalline structure. Ce4+-TiO2 nanocrystallites are composed of the major anatase phase titania (88.82 wt pct) and a small amount of crystalline cerium titanate. AFM micrograph shows that primary particle size of well-dispersed ultrafine sol particles is below 15.nm in diameter. The particle sizes are 3. nm for xerogel sample and 70 nm for nanocrystallites sample, which is different from the estimated values (2.41 nm and 4.5. nm) by XRD Scherrer's formula. The difference is mainly due to aggregation of nanocrystallites. The experimental results exhibit that photocatalysts of Ce4+-TiO2 sol and nanocrystallites have the ability to photodegrade reactive brilliant red dye (X-3. ) under visible light irradiation with the ion-TiO2/VIS/dye system. Moreover, Ce4+ doped titania sol has shown higher efficiency than the nanocrystallites sample in respect of potocatalytic activity. Meanwhile, dye photodegradation mechanisms are proposed to different photocatalytic reaction systems, which are dye photosensitization, ion-dye photosensitization and interband photocatalysis & dye photosensitization with respect to TiO2 nanocrystallites, Ce4+-TiO2 sol and Ce4+-TiO2 nanocrystallites system.

Enterokinase is a tool protease widely utilized in the cleavage of recombinant fusion proteins. cDNA encoding the catalytic subunit of Chinese bovine enterokinase (EKL) was amplified by PCR and then fused to the 3. end of prepro secretion signal peptide gene of α-mating factor from Saccharomyces cerevisiae to get the α-MF signal-EKL-His6 encoding gene by PCR. Then the whole coding sequence was cloned into the integrative plasmid pAO815.under the control of a methanol-inducible promoter and transformed GS115.methylotrophic strain of Pichia pastoris. Secreted expression of recombinant EKL-His6 was attained by methanol induction and its molecular weight is 43.kD. Because of the existence of His6-tag, EKL-His6 was easily purified from P. pastoris fermentation supernatant by using Ni2+ affinity chromatography and the yield is 5.4 mg per liter of fermentation culture. This purified EKL-His6 demonstrates excellent cleavage activity towards fusion protein containing EK cleavage site.
