Estimates of genetic and phenotypic parameters for weight and length in Paralichthys olivaceus(Temminck et Schlegel)

The complete diallel cross design was employed to estimate the genetic parameters of the growth of Japanese flounder （Paralichthys olivaceus）. A total of 60 full-sib families were cultivated and two growth-related traits, body weight （BW） and body length （BL）, were examined at average 2. 3 and 8 months of age respectively, with 1 800 individuals measured in each age group （30 per family）. Based on the additive-dominance-maternal-effect genetic analysis model, the restricted maximum likelihood approach was used to estimate various （co）variance components. The results showed that narrow-sense heritability estimates of BW and BL were respectively： 0.2. ± 0.01 and 0.2. ± 0.02.at 2.months of age, 0.32.± 0.02.and 0.30 ± 0.04 at 3 months of age, 0.48 ± 0.04 and 0.40 ± 0.05 at 8 months of age; broad-sense heritability estimates were respectively： 0.44 ± 0.02.and 0.54 ± 0.04 at 2.months of age, 0.35 ± 0.01 and 0.36 ± 0.03 at 3 months of age, 0.49 ± 0.03 and 0.45 ± 0.04. All heritabilities were statistically significant （P 0.05）. Additive genetic correlations between BW and BL at 2. 3 and 8 months of age were consistently positive and highly significant （P 0.01）： 0.93 ± 0.02. 0.95 ± 0.03 and 0.92.± 0.03 respectively. Maternal effect was significant （P 0.05） only at 2.months of age, and was not detected at 3 and 8 months of age. According to the heritability estimates, the mass selection strategy should be efficient for the breeding of Japanese flounder.

Lakes in arid zone are sensitive to climatic changes. The lacustrine sediment sequence in Sogo Nur has well and truly recorded climatic events such as the Sui-Tang Dynasty Warm Period, the Song-Liao Dynasty Cold Period, the Medieval Warm Period, the Little Ice Age and the 2.th Century Warm Period. Commonly, the climate in warm Periods was relatively humid,accordingly the lake area extended and water level rose, and vice versa. Apart from climatic change, human activity is also an important factor of influencing lake vicissitude, and they played the dominant role alternatively during different periods; the factor of climatic change predominated in historical period, while since the beginning of the 2.th century the utilization of water resources by human has became decisive.

Energy-efficient power allocation for selfish cooperative communication networks using bargaining game

In commercial networks,user nodes operating on batteries are assumed to be selfish to consume their energy solely to maximize their own benefits,e.g.,data *** this paper,we propose a bargaining game to perform the power allocation for the selfish cooperative communication *** our system,two partner nodes can act as a source as well as a relay for each other,and each node is with an energy constraint to transmit one *** a selfish node is willing to seek cooperative transmission only if the data rate achieved through cooperation will not lower than that achieved through noncooperation by using the same amount of *** energy-efficient power allocation problem can be modeled as a cooperative *** proved that there exists a unique Nash bargaining solution (NBS) for the game by verifying that the game is indeed a bargaining ***,the two objectives,i.e.,system efficiency and user fairness specified in the selfish networks can be *** results show that the NBS scheme is efficient in that the performance loss of the NBS scheme to that of the maximal overall rate scheme is small while the maximal-rate scheme is *** simulation results also show that the NBS result is fair in that both nodes could experience better performance than they work independently and the degree of cooperation of a node only depends on how much contribution its partner can make to improve its own performance.

The forms and distribution of phosphorus in the sediments of Poyang Lake were studied using chemical extraction methods to understand the potential release and adsorption of *** results showed that phosphorus in the sediments mainly consisted of inorganic phosphorous species, including iron bound phosphorus,calcium bound phosphorus,aluminium bound phosphorus and dissolved phosphorus,as well as organic phosphorous *** spatial distribution of phosphorus species in surface sediments showed a decreasing trend from the outlet to the entrance of Poyang *** content of total phosphorus in the surface sediments ranged from 688.2. to 82..36 mg/kg, and inorganic phosphorous was the major phosphorus *** bound phosphorus was the dominant form of inorganic phosphorous,accounting for greater than 40%of the total phosphorus, while calcium bound phosphorus and aluminium bound phosphorus accounted for more than 2.%, and dissolved phosphorus accounted for less than 5%.The content of organic phosphorus in surface sediments was lower,accounting for less than 15%.Total phosphorus was positively correlated with iron bound phosphorus,aluminium bound phosphorus,calcium bound phosphorus and organic phosphorous,while organic phosphorous was positively correlated with iron bound phosphorus and aluminium bound phosphorus,but only weakly related to calcium bound *** all six sites, the contents of total phosphorus and phosphorus forms in the core sediments obviously decreased with depth,while they were significantly enriched in the surface *** total phosphorus and phosphorus forms contents were significantly higher in the upper layers and had a tendency to decrease toward the bottom of the core,regardless of the phosphorus *** addition,the average contents of total phosphorus and various phosphorus forms decreased rapidly with sediment depth from 0-2. cm,and then decreased slightly from 2.-30 cm.

Spray and forward:efficient routing based on the Markov location prediction model for DTNs

Typical delay tolerant networks(DTNs)often suffer from long and variable delays,frequent connectivity disruptions,and high bit error *** DTNs,the design of an efficient routing algorithm is one of the key *** existing methods improve the accessibility probability of the data transmission by transmitting many copies of the packet to the network,but they may cause a high network *** address the tradeoff between a successful delivery ratio and the network overhead,we propose a DTN routing algorithm based on the Markov location prediction model,called the spray and forward routing algorithm(SFR).Based on historical information of the nodes,the algorithm uses the second-order Markov forecasting mechanism to predict the location of the destination node,and then forwards the data by greedy routing,which reduces the copies of packets by spraying the packets in a particular *** contrast to a fixed mode where a successful-delivery ratio and routing overhead are contradictory,a hybrid strategy with multi-copy forwarding is able to reduce the copies of the packets efficiently and at the same time maintain an acceptable successful-delivery *** simulation results show that the proposed SFR is efficient enough to provide better network performance than the spray and wait routing algorithm,in scenarios with sparse node density and fast mobility of the nodes.

Two new bis-imidazolinium salts (4a, 4b) have been synthesized as precursors of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) from the commercially available (R)-2.2.-dihydroxy-1,1′-binaphthalene. The two bis-imidazolinium salts were used as efficient precursor of NHC ancillary ligands in the palladium-catalyzed Heck reaction. Good to excellent yields and high stereoselectivities were obtained with ethyl acrylate, acrylonitrile, and acrylamide as starting materials. The structure of bis-imidazolinium salt 4b was further characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.

Atmospheric correction of HJ-1A/B CCD images over Chinese coastal waters using MODIS-Terra aerosol data

This paper demonstrates an atmospheric correction method to process HJ-1A/B CCD images over Chinese coastal waters with the aid of MODIS-Terra aerosol *** on the assumption of zero water-leaving radiance at the two near-infrared (NIR)bands or the shortwave infrared(SWIR)bands,the atmospheric aerosol optical depth(AOD)is firstly retrieved from MODIS-Terra with a simple extension of the NIR-SWIR combined atmospheric correction approach embedded in SeaDAS (SeaWiFS data analysis system).Then the"turbid"and"non-turbid"waters are separated by the turbid water *** probability of AOD at 551 nm band is derived based on the NIR information over"non-turbid"waters and FLAASH model is selected to do the atmospheric correction of the HJ-1A/B CCD imagery using the AOD values of highest probabilities as ***,according to the histogram of the AOD distribution at 551 nm band,the studied turbid water area is divided into several blocks and HJ-1A/B CCD imagery is corrected with the corresponding AOD values displayed with the highest frequency in each *** method has been applied to several HJ-1A/B images over Chinese coastal waters and validated by synchronous in-situ *** results have shown that this method is effective in the atmospheric correction process of HJ-1A/B CCD images for ocean color remote sensing study and application in the coastal waters.

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF ROCK BREAKING EFFECT OF STEEL PARTICLES

Particle impact drilling is an efficient drilling technology for deep-well hard formation, With this technology, the rock is cut mainly by high-speed spherical particle impact under hydraulic action. In this article, the influence of jet flow factors, hydraulic factors and abrasive factors on rock breaking is studied through indoor experiments of impact by steel particles. The results indicate that the particle water jet has an optimal standoff distance and particle concentration; the rock breaking effect declines with the increase of the confining pressure and the decrease of the pump pressure and particle diameter. This study will provide some food of thought for the development of particle impact drilling technology.
