Colloid-facilitated release of polybrominated diphenyl ethers at an e-waste recycling site: evidence from undisturbed soil core leaching experiments

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDes), a class of persistent organic pollutants, have been frequently detected in soil at e-waste recycling sites. However, the key factors controlling the transport of PBDes from surface soil to the vadose zone and groundwater are unclear. Here, colloid-enhanced leaching of PBDes from undisturbed soil cores collected at an e-waste recycling site in Tianjin, China, is reported. Spatially heterogeneous release of colloids and PBDes was observed in all the tested soil cores under chemical and hydrodynamic perturbations, indicating the presence of preferential flow paths. Colloid concentration in the effluent significantly increased as ionic strength decreased (from 10 to 0.01 mmol/L), probably due to the stronger electrostatic repulsion between colloidal particles and the soil matrix at lower ionic strength. In contrast, colloid mobilization was not significantly affected by the changes in pH of the influent (from 4.0 to 10.0) and flow rate (from a Darcy velocity of 1.5 to 6.0 cm/h). The concentrations of 2.2.,3,3′,4.4.,5,5′,6,6′-decabromodiphenyl ether (BDe-2.9), the predominant PBDe congener at the site, detected in the leachate (ranging from 1.09 to 3.4. ng/L) were much lower than previously reported results from packed column leaching tests, and were positively correlated with colloid concentrations. This indicates that remobilization of colloids at e-waste recycling sites can promote the leaching and downward migration of PBDes from surface soil. The findings highlight the potential risk of surface soil PBDe contamination to groundwater quality and call for further understanding of colloid-facilitated transport for predicting the fate of PBDes at e-waste recycling sites.

AIM: To explore the feasibility of human growth hormone (hGH) receptor antagonist in the treatment of end-stage diabetic renal complications. MeTHODS: Two hGH mutants, hGHA1 (Cys-hGH-del1-4. G12.R, K168A, e174., C182., del186-191) and hGHA2.(hGH-H2.A, G12.R, e174.) were expressed in e coli. The IC50 (Mean±SD) values for the mutants for inhibiting 12.I-hGH binding to rabbit growth hormone receptor were (65±10) ng for hGHA1, (2.±5.6) ng for hGHA2. and (10±0.6) ng for wild type hGH, respectively. ReSULTS: After treatment for 12.weeks, the renal histology analysis showed that treatment with hGHA2.at 4.mg/kg body weight daily markedly suppressed glomerulosclerosis in streptozotocin-induced diabetic Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats; hGHA1 at the same dosage slightly increased the renal damage compared with saline; while wild type hGH at 1 U/kg body weight daily severely worsened the glomerulo-sclerosis in diabetic SD rats. CONCLUSION: The data indicated that hGHA2.inhibited the end-stage glomerulosclerosis in diabetic rats, but hGHA1 mildly increased the glomerulosclerosis.

the decision of construction diversion standards has influence on the investment cost, period, risk,its risk loss of diversion structure and choice of diversion schemes, which is negotiated continually between different subjects of decision-making such as investor and design engineer. It is their different value tendency of risk to hydroelectric power project that leads to the asymmetric information of diversion schemes. So the bargaining game mechanism between investor and design engineer should be established to improve their awareness of diversion schemes. As expected monetary value decision criterion doesn’t take decision maker’s subjective factors during the bargaining game process of diversion schemes asymmetric information problem, the paper puts forward expected utility value criterion based on risk analysis theory, utility theory, and entropy theory, discusses how to make risk of construction diversion system reasonable configure. Under the guidance that utility value of every diversion time interval is equal, utility function of decision maker is confirmed and the utility losing computation model of diversion standard is put forward. Subjects of decision-making demand risk and its risk loss diminish by degrees with the development of construction. Then considering the asymmetric information condition and that diversion standard of every diversion time interval is floating, utility value of every diversion time interval is confirmed finally through the bargaining game mechanism. According to utility value of every diversion time interval, risk configuration mechanism of construction diversion system based on bargaining game platform is established under the guidance of expectation utility losing equilibrium principle. 太阳能驱动水裂解产氢是一种绿色能源技术,用于制备可再生和零碳排放燃料以实现可持续能源生产.近期,氮化碳(g-C_(3)N_(4.)同素异形体C_(3)N_(5)的出现克服了g-C_(3)N_(4.的固有缺点,如光生载流子快速复合和可见光吸收差,而导致极低的光催化效率.本文将硼掺杂剂通过原子替换或间隙掺杂的方式引入到C_(3)N_(5)体系中,并利用密度泛函理论对纯C_(3)N_(5)和硼掺杂C_(3)N_(5)体系进行计算,考察了硼原子对C_(3)N_(5)电子和光学性能的影响以及其催化析氢反应(HeR)机理.热力学计算结果表明,硼原子掺杂在C_(3)N_(5)体系中是可行且有利的.在N_(3)位氮原子被硼原子取代(BN_(3)-C_(3)N_(5))后,带隙(0.6 e V)变窄.与纯C_(3)N_(5)相比,硼掺杂剂通过Volmer Tafel和Volmer Heyrovsky机制降低了酸性和碱性介质中HeR反应中决定步骤的反应能垒.BN_(3)-C_(3)N_(5)表面的氢吸附吉布斯自由能(0.11 e V)与Pt/C催化剂(-0.09 e V)相当.综上,非金属掺杂碳可提高氮化物的催化性能,对未来该方向研究提供一定借鉴.

estimating canopy closure density and above-ground tree biomass using partial least square methods in Chinese boreal forests

Boreal forests play an important role in global environment systems. Understanding boreal forest ecosystem structure and function requires accurate monitoring and estimating of forest canopy and biomass. We used partial least square regression （PLSR） models to relate forest parameters, i.e. canopy closure density and above ground tree biomass, to Landsat eTM＋ data. The established models were optimized according to the variable importance for projection （VIP） criterion and the bootstrap method, and their performance was compared using several statistical indices. All variables selected by the VIP criterion passed the bootstrap test （p〈0.05）. The simplified models without insignificant variables （VIP 〈1） performed as well as the full model but with less computation time. The relative root mean square error （RMSe%） was 2.% for canopy closure density, and 58% for above ground tree biomass. We conclude that PLSR can be an effective method for estimating canopy closure density and above ground biomass.

It is now possible to organize globally while worki ng locally: Information technologies like e-mail, the Internet, and video confere ncing to the desktop permit tight coordination of geographically dispersed worke rs across time zones and cultures. Companies are not limited to physical locatio ns for providing products and services. Networked information systems are allowi ng companies to coordinate their geographically distributed capabilities as virt ual organizations. In order for organizations to succeed, they must be able to r espond with agility in a geographically dispersed environment. The core for a vi rtual organization to increase the utilization rate of resources to the maxi mum and to make full use of the transient market opportunities lies in how to br ing the potential of information technology into play. Based on the philosophy o f agile manufacturing, this paper analyses the basic concepts and connotation of Virtual Organization Information systems(VOIS). VOIS is an information system composed of some independent information subsystems that are autonomous, collab orative and belong to umpty organizations respectively. VOIS support the operati on of virtual organization, and automate the information flow across organizatio nal boundaries. Such systems have capabilities as rapid construction, quick oper ation, and agile reengineer.ng and swift adaptability. Differences between VOIS and traditional enterprise information systems are analyzed. On the basis of ana lyzing the structure of VOIS, an abstract hierarchical structure of VOIS is prop osed using object-oriented method. Reengineer.ng ideology and methods of VOIS a re also explored in light of the three layers structure.

Thermal Aspects for Face Grinding of Ceramics

To meet the increasing demand on the quality and co st of precision structural components, extensive studies on high efficiency and pr ecision machining of ceramic materials, including face grinding, have been condu cted over the past several years. However, there are few reports about the mecha nism in face grinding of ceramics, especially the thermal aspects during the gri nding process. In the present study, experiments of face grinding two typical ce ramics were carried out to study themal aspects at the wheel-workpiece contact zone. The present investigation was undertaken to experimentally study the energy part ition to workpiece and thermal characteristics during face grinding of two typic al ceramics. For this purpose, grinding temperature distribution in the ceramics workpiece was calculated with the classic moving heat source theory. The grindi ng temperature at the wheel-workpiece contact zone was measured under different machining conditions using a grindable foil thermocouple. Combining the analyti cal results and the experimental result for temperatures, the mechanism of energ y partition in face grinding of ceramic materials was discussed. According to the experimental results and the comparison of theoretic and measur ed temperature profiles, temperature characteristics and mechanism of energy par tition in face grinding of ceramic materials were discussed. Temperature rise in the workpiece and energy partition during the grinding process were found to be derictly related to the machining parameters and the mechanism of mateirial rem oval. The increasing of either v w or a p can lead to an increase of temperatu re. The temperature rise in Si 3N 4.is much lower than that in ZrO 2 under th e same condition, which might be attributed to the different material removal me chanisms. Both temperatures in dry grinding and in wet grinding are not high eno ugh to cause thermal damage to ceramic materials. The value of energy partition increases with the increa

垂穗披碱草ISSR反应体系的正交优化

以垂穗披碱草(elymus nutans)基因组DNA为模板,对ISSR-PCR反应体系中5个因素(TaqDNA聚合酶、Mg2.、模板DNA、dNTPs、引物)进行优化试验,建立垂穗披碱草稳定的ISSR-PCR反应体系及最佳扩增程序。在2.μL反应体系中,最佳反应体系为2.5μL 10×buffer(不含Mg2.)、1.0 U Taq酶、2.0 mmol/L Mg2.、30～12.ng模板DNA、0.2. mmol/L dNTPs、0.2.μmol/L引物。在优化体系的基础上筛选出11条多态性丰富,扩增稳定的引物,并通过设置退火温度梯度、循环次数梯度、延伸时间梯度,得到垂穗披碱草ISSR-PCR最佳扩增程序。反应程序:94.预变性2.min,94.变性1 min,51℃退火1 min(视不同引物而定),72.延伸1.5 min,共4.个循环,72.延伸10 min。通过对ISSR-PCR最佳反应体系和最佳扩增程序的验证,发现该反应体系和扩增程序具有较高的稳定性和较好的重复性。

We have previously reported that prenatal intermittent hypoxia(IH,5 km,10.8%O) daily for 4.hours from embryonic 1(e1) to e2. induced anxiety-like behavior in adult male rats *** underlying neurobiological mechanisms,however,are not well *** the present study,a series of experiments were performed to characterize whether corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 1(CRHR1) in the paraventricular nucleus(PVN) of the hypothalamus is involved in the regulation of anxiety-like behavior in IH *** role of CRHR1 was assessed with bilateral PVN microinjection of(1) CRHR1 selective antagonist,antalarmin(0.5 ng) or(2. CRHR1 selective agonist,hCRH(0.5μg),and(3) pretreated with antalarmin followed by hCRH *** contribution of CRHR2.was assessed with bilateral PVN microinjection of CRHR2.selective agonist,hUcn 3(0.5μg). The open field and elevated-plus maze were applied to test the anxiety-like *** showed that bilateral PVN microinjection of antalarmin significantly increased the distance and time to enter the central portion of the open field and the time(%) into the open arms of the elevated-plus maze only in IH offspring,suggest the decrease of anxiety-like behavior in these ***,there was no effect on those of the control *** compared with the offspring in control group,the entries and time(%) into the open arms of the ePM were markedly decreased in those of the IH group,suggest the increase of anxiety-like behavior,and pretreated with antalarmin significantly attenuated the anxiogenic effect of hCRH in these ***,there was no effect of bilateral PVN microinjection of hUcn 3 in either IH group or control *** suggest that CRHR1,but not CRHR2.in PVN of the hypothalamus,is involved in the anxiogenic effect of IH in adult male rats offspring both in basal and mimic stress(hCRH) conditions.

采用同时蒸馏萃取-气相色谱质谱(SDe-GC-MS)联用分析技术,对川鲶腹肉和背肉的挥发性风味成分进行提取、定性和定量分析;并测定生肉和同时蒸馏萃取后溶液中脂肪酸成分。结果表明:从川鲶腹肉和背肉中分别检测出67和4.种挥发性风味成分,相同成分有38种,主要为烃类、醛类、酮类和酯类,其中含量较高的是烃类、醛类,腹肉和背肉中二者的含量分别为4.2..36、1889.02.2./g和1706.61、2.17.39{2./g;根据分析出的挥发性成分的风味特征可知,对川鲶腹肉挥发性风味贡献较大的物质有己醛、正辛醛、庚醛、壬醛、(Z)-2.庚烯醛、(e)-2.辛烯醛、反式-2.4.癸二烯醛和1-辛烯-3-醇等;川鲶腹肉和背肉脂肪酸主要是不饱和脂肪酸(UFA),分别占脂肪酸总量的69.4.%、68.36%。经过同时蒸馏萃取后,川鲶腹肉和背肉中的多不饱和脂肪酸(PUFA)分别从35.36%、34.12.降到33.04.、32.51%。多不饱和脂肪酸是风味的重要前体物质。
