Geochemical characterization of aromatic hydrocarbons in crude oils from the Tarim,Qaidam and Turpan Basins,NW China

Based on the systematic study of aromatic hydrocarbons in over 100 crude oil samples collected from the Tabei and Tazhong uplifts in the Tarim Basin,the western depression area in the Qaidam Basin and the Tabei depression in the Turpan Basin,the geochemical characteristics of the marine（Tarim Basin）,saline lacustrine（Qaidam Basin）,and swamp（Turpan Basin） oils were *** marine oils from the Tarim basin are characterized by relatively low abundance of diaromatic hydrocarbons such as biphenyl and naphthalene,and relatively high abundance of triaromatic hydrocarbons including phenanthrene,dibenzothiophene and *** contrast,the swamp oils from the Turpan Basin are dominated by the highest relative abundance of diaromatic hydrocarbons and the lowest relative abundance of triaromatic hydrocarbons in all the oil samples in this *** relative abundance of diaromatic and triaromatic hydrocarbons in the saline lacustrine oils from Qaidam Basin is between that in Tarim oils and Turpan *** parameters based on the isomer distributions of dimethylnaphthalenes（Dmn）,trimethylnaphthalenes（Tmn）,tetramethylnaphthalenes（Temn） and methylphenanthrenes（MP）,i.e.,1,2,5-trimethylnaphthalene（Tmn）/1,3,6-Tmn ratio,1,2,7-Tmn/1,3,7Tmn ratio,（2,6-＋2,7-）-dimethylnaphthalenes（Dmn）/1,6-Dmn ratio,1,3,7-Tmn/（1,2,5-＋1,3,7-）Tmn,1,3,6,7-Temn/（1,3,6,7-＋1,2,5,6-＋1,2,3,5-）-Temn ratio and MP index,may reflect the diversity of organic source input,thermal maturity and depositional *** addition,the dibenzothiophenes（DBTs）/fluorenes（Fs） and dibenzofurans（DBFs）/Fs ratios were found to the very useful and effective in determining genetic types of crude oils for the marine,saline lacustrine,and swamp depositional environments,and for oil-oil correlations.

塔北隆起奥陶系古岩溶的电成像测井识别

基于电成像测井解释 ,结合岩心标定和常规测井约束 ,建立了塔北隆起下奥陶统溶洞及其充填物的电成像测井识别模式。在电成像测井图像上 ,未充填溶洞一般呈黑色 ,而充填溶洞则可呈现出黑、棕、黄、白等各种颜色 ,这取决于充填物的类型和特征。溶洞充填物主要有角砾岩、砂泥岩和结晶碳酸盐岩三种类型 :角砾岩呈斑状 ,其中浅色斑块解释为从围岩跨塌下来的角砾 ,斑块间深色部分为砂、泥质填隙物 ;洞穴砂、泥岩一般呈黑色—棕色高导显示 ,其中常见图像纹理 ,解释为各种层理构造 ;洞穴结晶碳酸盐岩因电阻率最高 ,图像呈白色 ,并可见纹层状生长构造。洞穴及其充填物与碳酸盐围岩浅棕—亮黄色中高阻电成像测井特征易于区别。研究表明 ,利用高分辨率电成像测井图像 ,结合岩心标定和常规测井资料 ,能够有效地识别碳酸盐岩地层中的古洞穴 ,并判断其充填与否及充填物的性质。

Genesis of excess argon in phengite and significance of ^(4.)Ar-^(39)Ar age spectra for omphacite:A case study on UHP eclogite of South Dabie Terrain,China

The Ar-Ar dating of phengite and omphacite in ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) eclogite of Bixiling and Hengchong in the South Dabie Terrain shows that the content range of excess argon is as high as (0.4.1.3)×10 8 mol· g 1. The genesis of the excess argon is discussed. The Ar-Ar age spectra of omphacite could not support the opinion that the UHP metamorphism occurred in Caledon epoch and pre-Caledon epoch.

MULTI-PERIODIC COLLISIONAL PROCESS BETWEEN INDIAN AND ASIAN CONTINENTS:A CASE OF EASTERN HIMALAYAN SYNTAXIS AND HENGDUAN MOUNTAINS

Our study area covered the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis (EHS) and its southern extension (Hengduan Mountain or western Sichuan and Yunnan (WSY)) which is located at the orthogonal and oblique collisional front between Indian and Asian continents during *** on geometric and kinematic mapping of the major boundary or regional faults (Dongjug—Mainling(1), Anigiao(2) and Jali(3), Guyu(4. faults in EHS, Ailaoshan—Red River(5), Lancangjiang(6), Gaoligong(7), Binlangjiang(8) and Magok(9) faults in WSY) (see Fig.1), especially on abundant geochronological dating of the mylonitic rocks along these faults, and coupled with magmato\|metamorphic sequences of this region, we try to deal with the temporal and spatial relationships of collisional process to answer questions such as: (1) when did collision start ? (2) is thrusting as a initial and dominant deformation mode to absorb the crustal shortening after suturing, or earlier thrusting usually followed by large\|scale strike\|slip faults? (3) are the two structural patterns coeval at times, or do they occur alternatively during deformation history? (4. are the collisional and associate uplift processes a continuous one or periodic? Insight into such questions is crucial for better understanding of the continental deformation and testing the models available or constraining a new one.

Magnetic, Geochemical and Mineralogical Charac teristics of Soils in Qiangtang Basin, Tibet, China: Implications for Prospective Oil and Gas Land

The alteration of iron bearing minerals induced by hydrocarbon microseepage above oil/gas reservoirs has been evaluated using measurements of soil magnetic susceptibility κ , geochemical compositions (gas hydrocarbon and alteration carbonate Δ C ), and composition and concentration of iron bearing minerals. The analyses were performed along two profiles across the Qiangtang basin in Tibet, China: the Nuoermahu Xuehuanhu profile (C) and the Mugari Huochetoushan profile (E). Results show that three strong magnetic anomalies (C 1, E 1 and E 2 anomalies) are related to the distribution of Neogene volcanic rocks on the surface in the Gangmacuo Xiyaergang uplift. Two other anomalies (C 2 and E 4. anomalies), characterized by both moderately amplitude magnetic susceptibility and elevated soil gas hydrocarbons, occur near fault zones in the Cuoni Donghu synclinorium. These latter anomalies display characteristics of hydrocarbon microseepage anomalies commonly associated with oil and gas accumulations. Their presence in the Cuoni Donghu synclinorium suggests that parts of the Qiangtang basin may have significant petroleum potential.

Modelling adsorption of phosphate by soils while the solution concentration decreased with sorption

A mechanistic model developed by Barrow (1986) was modified to study the effect of time on adsorption of phosphate by soil when the solution concentration decreased with sorption. The model reproduced the effects of initial solution concentration, and of increasing time on the adsorption by 5 soils. Both the simulated and observed data showed that at low initial solution concentrations, phosphate in the solution decreased rapidly near to zero in a few hours or minutes. And the simulated results suggested that the rate of phosphate sorption by soils under the condition of the solution concentration decreased with sorption is much slower than that the solution concentration remains constant.

CENOZOIC LARGE-SCALE STRIKE-SLIP FAULT IN WEST YUNNAN, CHINA

During the collision between India and Eurasia, the continental compression and shorten is thought to be absorbed by the way of thickening of the Tibetan plateau crust and strike\|slip extrusion outwardly of blocks surrounding the Tibetan plateau. A series of models have been proposed recently, of which the most typical one is continental blocks extrusion by Tapponnier et al.. Virtually previous studies show that the Red River—Ailaoshan fault is the eastern boundary of extrusion Indochina displaced southward relative to South China about 23 Ma ago, and more, the western boundary of extrusion blocks is inferred to be Sijie fault in the eastern Burma. But the movement age of Sijie fault is around 13 Ma inferred from the age of Andeman Sea formation and different from that of the Red River—Ailaoshan fault. It is an important scientific problem where the western boundary of extrusion blocks is.

Pervasive dolomites occur preferentially in the stromatoporoid biostromal(or reefal) facies in the basal Devonian(Givetian) carbonate rocks in the Guilin area, South *** amount of dolomites,however,decreases sharply in the overlying Frasnian carbonate *** are dominated by replacement dolomites with minor dolomite *** dolomites include:(l) fine to medium,planar-e floating dolomite rhombs(Rd1);(2) medium to coarse, planar-s patchy/mosaic dolomites(Rd2);and(3) medium to very coarse non-planar anhedral mosaic dolomites(Rd3).They post-date early submarine cements and overlap with *** types of dolomite cements were identified:planar coarse euhedral dolomite cements(Cd1) and non-planar (saddle) dolomite cements(Cd2);they post-date replacement dolomites and predate late-stage calcite cements that line mouldic vugs and *** replacement dolomites haveδO values from -13.7 to -9.7‰VPDB,δC values from -2.7 to + l.5‰VPDB and Sr/Sr ratios from 0.7082 to *** inclusion data of Rd3 dolomites yield homogenization temperatures(T) of 136- 14.℃and salinities of 7.2-11.2 wt%NaCl *** data suggest that the replacive dolomitization could have occurred from slightly modified sea water and/or saline basinal fluids at relatively high temperatures,probably related to hydrothermal activities during the latest Givetian-middle Fammenian and Early Carboniferous *** with replacement dolomites,Cd2 cements yield lowerδO values(-14.2 to -9.3‰VPDB),lowerδC values(-3.0 to -0.7‰VPDB),higher Sr/Sr ratios(≈0.7100) and higher T values(171- 209℃),which correspond to trapping temperatures(T) between 260 and 300℃after pressure *** data suggest that the dolomite cements precipitated from higher temperature hydrothermal fluids,derived from underlying siliciclastic deposits,and were associated with more intense hydrothermal events during Permian-Early Triassic time,when the host dolostones were deeply *** pe
