The experiments of plane-plane gap discharge was carried out in an environment of artificial sandstorm. By comparing and analyzing the differences in gap breakdown voltage between the sand & dust environment and clean air, some problems were investigated, such as effects of wind speed and particle concentration on the breakdown voltage, differences of gap discharge characteristics between the dust & sand medium and the clean air medium. The results showed that compared with the clean air environment, the dust & sand environment had a decreased gap breakdown voltage. The longer the gap distance, the greater the voltage drop; the breakdown voltage decreased with the increase of particle concentration in flow. With the increase of wind speed, the breakdown voltage decreased at the beginning and rose afterwards. The results of the paper may helpful for further research regarding the unidentified flashover and external insulation characteristics of the HV power grid in the dust & sand environment.

Growth characteristics and response to climate change of Larix Miller tree-ring in China

As one of the earliest species used in dendrochronological studies, Larix responds sensitively to climate change. In this study, nine larch species and one variety from eleven sites were collected to study the growth characteristics of tree-ring width using dendrochronological methods. Ten residual tree-ring chronologies were developed to analyze their relationships with regional standardized anomaly series by Pearson’s correlation analysis. The results suggest that most of the chronologies had significantly positive correlations with the mean temperature and mean maximum temperature in May. The spring temperature evidently limited the radial growth of the larch species without precipitation control. The largest mean tree-ring width was found in Himalayan Larch in Jilong, whereas Master Larch in Si’er reflected the smallest mean value. Both species presented little climate information in this study. Chinese, Potanin, and Tibetan larches are significantly correlated with climate change, implying a huge potential for climate history reconstruction. The elevation of the sampling sites appears to be an important condition for tree-ring growth of larches responding to climate factors.

Based on the analyses of hydrocarbon inclu-sions, K-Ar dating of authigenic illites and oil/gas-watercontact retrospection as well as other methods, the marineprimary reservoirs in the cratonic region of the Tarim Basinare found to have been formed in the late Caledonian toearly Hercynian, late Hercynian, and Himalayan, and oil andgas adjusted and redistributed in the Yanshanian (Jurassic toCretaceous) and Himalayan (Tertiary). The analyses alsoshow that the remaining primary oil accumulations aremostly formed in the late Hercynian, and the secondary oilreservoirs resulted from the adjustment and redistribution ofthe earlier accumulations during the Yanshanian and Hima-layan (especially late Himalayan), of which the Himalayan isalso the major stage of gas accumulation. The primary oilreservoirs formed in the late Hercynian mostly occur withinthe Paleozoic formation, whereas the secondary reservoirsformed in the Himalayan in the Mesozoic. The late adjust-ment and redistribution of reservoirs in the craton region ofthe Tarim Basin is ubiquitous because of the intensified tec-tonic movements since the Mesozoic, especially Cenozoic andintrusion of the high- to over-mature gas. Furthermore, thelower amplitude of reservoirs in the craton region also makesthem easier to be adjusted and redistributed. Therefore, theremaining paleo-uplift and palaeo-slope developed in rela-tively stable tectonic regions are the main potential areas forthe middle-large marine reservoirs in the Tarim Basin.

Variations of Snow Temperature and their Influence on Snow Cover Physical Parameters in the Western Tianshan Mountains,China

This article discussed about snow temperature variations and their impact on snow cover parameters. Automatic temperature recorders were used to sample at lo-minute intervals at the Tianshan Station for Snow-cover and Avalanche research, Chinese snow temperature Academy of Sciences. lo-layer and the snow cover parameters were measured by the snow property analyzer （Snow Fork） in its Stable period, Interim period and Snow melting period. Results indicate that the amplitude of the diurnal fluctuation in the temperature during Snow melting period is 1.62.times greater than that during Stable period. Time up to the peak temperature at the snow surface lags behind the peak solar radiation by more than 2.5 hours, and lags behind the peak atmospheric temperature by more than 0.2.hours during all three periods. The optimal fitted function of snow temperature profile becomes more complicated from Stable period to Snow melting period. 2. h temperature profiles in Stable period are the optimal fitted by cubic polynomial equation. In Interim period and Snow melting period, temperature profiles are optimal fitted by exponential equation between sunset and sunrise, and by Fourier function when solar radiation is strong. The vertical gradient in the snow temperature reaches its maximum value at the snow surface for three periods. The peak of this maximum value occurs during Stableperiod, and is 4.4. times greater than during Interim period. The absolute value of temperature gradient is lower than 0.1℃ cm-1 for 30 cm beneath snow surface. Snow temperature and temperature gradient in Stable period-Interim period indirectly cause increase （decrease） of snow density mainly by increasing （decreasing） permittivity. While it dramatically increases its water content to change its permittivity and snow density in Snow melting period.

Spark-plasma sintering (SPS) process was used to sinter ZrO2.(8Y) powders, and a relative density of 99% has been reached at a low temperature (1350°C) and short dwelling time (10 min) compared to the conventional sintered identical samples (14.0°C 4.h)(CS). By the X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, the microstructure of the SPS pellet and CS pellet are both indexed by the cubic unit cell (Fm3m). The finer crystallite size (D111) of the SPS pellet is 154.nm and D111 of the CS pellet is more than 1 μm. The AC impedance spectroscopy shows that the ionic conductivity of SPS pellet is different from that of CS pellet. The activation energy for the SPS ceramics, estimated from the slope in the range of 4.0–800°C, was 91 kJ mol?1, which is in good agreement with CS pellet (96 kJ mol?1), indicating that the conduction mechanism in SPS ceramics is similar to that in CS ceramics.

The causes of the disappearance of the ancient town of Loulan in xinjiang, China have been generally agreed to derive from two factors: human activities and natural factors (environmental variations). In this paper, the Muzart Glacier was selected as an example, and found that the length of the glacier has been gradually decreasing and the snow line has been retreating to a higher altitude, both results contributing to a decrease in river flow below the Muzart Glacier. From the distribution of moraines in the Tianshan Mountains and adjacent areas in different periods, the paper speculates that there have been four minor glacial periods since the Quaternary. Although the durations and scales of the four minor glacial periods were different, they all indirectly influenced the formation and disappearance of the Lop Nur Lake. The events of the fourth minor glacial period are the important impact factors in the existence and disappearance of Loulan. Whether the disappearance of Loulan can be related to the events of the three previous minor glacial periods needs further investigation.

Using purified recombinant human ventricular myosin light chain 1 （HVMLC 1） as the antigen,three monoclonal antibodies,designated C8,C9 and B 12.were *** experiments demonstratedthat all monoclonal antibodies could react with the ventricular myosin light chain 1 isolated from differentsources,such as human,rat or *** was also demonstrated that C8 was directed against the NN part of theN-fragment （amino acid 1-4.） of HVMLC1,and both C9 and B12.against the C-fragment （amino acid 99-195）.The affinity constants of C8,C9 and B12.were 3.2.×10～8,8.60×10～7 and 1.77×10～8 M-1,respectively,determined by non-competitive *** isotype of B12.was determined as lgG2.,whereas the isotype ofboth C8 and C9 were *** the presence of C9 or B12.the actin-activated Mg2.ATPase activity of myosinwas greatly inhibited,but there was almost no effect on the Mg2.ATPase activity for C8.B12.and C9 alsoinhibited the superprecipitation of porcine cardiac native actomyosin （myosin B） and reconstituted actomyosin,but C8 did *** results indicate that all three monoclonal antibodies could bind the intact myosin molecule,but B12.and C9 might more easily react with epitopes located in the C-fragment of *** inhibitoryeffects of B 12.and C9 on ATPase activity and superprecipitation assays show that light chain 1,particularlythe C-fragment domain,is involved in the modulation of the actin-activated Mg2.ATPase activity of myosinand,as a consequence,plays an essential role in the interaction of actin and myosin.

Reconstructing mean maximum temperature of growing season from the maximum density of the Schrenk Spruce in Yili,xinjiang,China

To study the historical temperature variation in Yili of xinjiang,the tree-ring chronologies of maximum density(MXD) and tree-ring width(TRW) were established with the Schrenk Spruce(Picea schrenkiana *** Mey) collected from six sites to analyze the characteristics and ability of response to climate *** results suggest that the MXD chronology of the Schrenk Spruce from different sampling sites responded to climate change well and were positively correlated with the mean maximum temperature and the mean temperature from April to August in the study *** mean maximum temperature anomaly from April to August,spanning the years from 184. to 2.00,was reconstructed by three MXD chronologies which were selected by stepwise *** reconstructed function was stable and explained 56.2. of the *** reconstructed results indicated a cold span of 153 years in spring and summer from the beginning of the 1950s to the beginning of the 1970s in the Yili *** strongly increasing tendency was detected in the mean maximum temperature anomaly from April to August during this reconstructed period.
