Nd isotope as the tracer of seawater evolution of early Miocene in the eastern Pacific Ocean

Fifty-six samples of nannofossil ooze were collected from Core PC5794.in the northern equatorial Pacific at 5 cm intervals. With the methods of mass spectrometer (VG354. and ICP, the Nd isotopic compositions (εNd(t)), Mn contents and Mg/Sr ratios of carbonate phase have been analyzed. CaCO3 contents of bulk sediments were obtained by dissolution of 0.5 mol/L HCl. Based on these data, the high-resolution εNd(t) profile of seawater in early Miocene with core depth(or time) have been established. The values of εNd(t) range from -6.2.to -2.97 and 4.fluctuation cycles existed during 2.0}06-2..02.Ma. 4.low εNd(t) values (about -6.4. correspond to high CaCO3 contents, which implicates that there were 4.cold epochs or 4.times of Antarctic Bottom Water activity. They occurred at the time of 2.0}06 Ma, 2..85 Ma,2..88 Ma and 2..2. Ma, respectively. High εNd(t) values correspond to the high Mn contents and high values of Mg/Sr ratio, which indicates the existence of 4.intense hydrothermal activity periods during 2.0}06-2. Ma, the durations of them are 4.05-2..98 Ma, 2..69-2..15 Ma, 2..74.2..37 Ma and 2..06-2..02.Ma, respectively.

The geometries,stabilities and electronic properties of Crn and CrnB(n=2.9) clusters have been systematically investigated by density functional *** results suggest that the lowest energy structures for CrnB clusters can be obtained by substituting one Cr atom in Crn+1 clusters with B *** geometries of CrnB clusters are similar to that of Crn+1 clusters except for local structural *** second-order difference and fragmentation energy show Cr4.Cr6,Cr8,Cr3B,Cr5B and Cr8B cluster are the most stable among these studied *** impurity B increases the stabilities of chromium *** B is doped on the Crn clusters,cluster geometry does dominate positive role in enhancing their *** doped B atom does not change the coupling way of the Cr site in Crn clusters,but breaks the symmetry and the Cr atoms are no longer *** doped B atom increases the total magnetic moments of Crn in most cases.

Sol-gel-derived Hybrid Conductive Films for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Shielding

In order to study the sus diets and explore the possibility to distinguish domestic pig from wild boar through dietary analysis, stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes of 2. pig bones from archaeological site of Wanfabozi in Tonghua City, Jilin Province were analyzed. The δ 13C and δ 15N values of uncontaminated bones show that the overall pigs in the site were generally herbivores and ate mainly C3 plants. Significant difference of δ15N values was observed between wild boar and domestic pigs, which may result from the higher consumption of animal protein in domestic pigs other than from that in wild boar, possibly from human leftover or waste,. The dietary difference between wild boar and domestic pigs has great potential to differentiate wild boar and domestic pigs in the early stage of pig domestication.

Secure group communications are restrained by the number of the group size, number of changes and their distribution, all existing works do not meet the commands of applications with large group size and high dynamic members. In this paper, minimum exact cover problem for group key distribution （GMECP） is presented, and a heuristic solution is testified. Then an algorithm of batch rekeying with renewing cost tending to zero is illustrated, which can process any large number of change requests with best security guaranteed. Efficiency analysis and simulation test show that the achievement can improve the efficiency of any tree-based group key management.

Joint source-channel coding/decoding (JSCC/JSCD) techniques in flow media communications have become a state-of-the-art and one of the challenging research subjects in the spatial communication area. They have great application prospective and deep impact in various manned space flights, satellite missions, mobile radio communications and deep-space explorations. In the last few years, there have been influential achievements in JSCC/JSCD studies. This paper aims at an introduction to the basic principles of joint source-channel optimal design. A general summarization and classification for various existing JSCC/JSCD methods is addressed. Also presented is a JSCD scheme based on variable-length coding, capable of providing reliable resolutions for flow media data transmission in spatial communications.

AIM: To investigate the possibility that a novel α-helix-defective mutant of stromal cell-derived factor-1α (SDF- 1α) (SDF-1/54.) acts as an antagonist of CXC chemokine receptor 4.(CXCR4.. METHODS: According to the genetic sequence of natural SDF-1α, a recombinant α-helix-defective mutant of SDF-1α was designed and some biologic characteristics of this mutant were demonstrated. The migration of Jurkat cells was assessed with chemo- tactic assay. ERK phosphorylation was analyzed by Western blot with a specific anti-phospho-ERK1/2.antibody. Intracellular calcium influx was examined by flow cytometer with a calcium indicator dye Fluo-3AM. The CXCR4. on the cell surface was detected by flow cytometer with a PE conjoined anti-human CXCR4.antibody. RESULTS: Compared with native SDF-1α, SDF-1/54. displayed apparent decrease in chemotactic ability, ERK1/2.activation, and intracellular calcium influx in Jurkat cells. However, the binding to CXCR4.and inducing CXCR4.internalization of SDF-1/54. did not change outstandingly. Moreover, a competitive inhibitory effect of SDF-1/54. on the migration of Jurkat cells induced by native SDF-1α was confirmed. CONCLUSION: α-helix-defective mutant of SDF-1α, SDF-1/54. that remained both the N-terminus and the central β-sheet region, decreased SDF-1α-medi- ated signaling and chemotaxis but did not influence CXCR4.internalization, which suggested that SDF-1/54. might be developed as an anti-CHIV inhibitor with high biological potency and low side-effect.

The 2.th century is a "quality century". Facing the s evere challenge about quality, all the developed industry countries attach impor tance to the research and education about quality project. With the deepening of the reform of China and it’s joining to WTO, many industries and enterprises wi ll be confronted with severe challenge while being offered the opportunity to wa lk up to the world. The arrival of knowledge economy and web time has provided t he space for the innovation on enterprise management. It has also provided new m ethod and model for enterprise management, that is online management based on th e internet. The online management use an enterprise model including the goal of the enterprise and the scheme to carry out it to represent the whole operational of all the work. The online management is constructed on the integration of exp ert system, database, software and other technical models. How to scientifically manage the entire system of product, precisely master the condition of quantity and quality and analyze the rules of the change of produc t quality in order to carry out the overall control of quality, guarantee the go od condition of product as well as improve product quality and prolong it’s se rvice life was discussed in this thesis. Based on the above research the thesis also discussed how to develop the study on product quality information and const ruct it’s decision making support system. The concrete measures to improve peopl e’s concept of quality are also raised. Based on the type analysis, scientific management of product quality information should start from dynamic information of quality, instruction information as we ll as the information about the use, maintain, management and conservation of pr oduct, and induce them and further propose a design scheme of feedback system on product quality information, and then set up the blueprint of the information s ystem of product quality. Prevention of pathological change and cognitive degeneration of Tg2.76 mice by inoculating Aβ_(1-15) vaccine

This study aims to discuss the effect of preventing pathological changes and cognitive degeneration of Tg2.76 mice by inoculating the subunit fragment of Aβ ***-two Tg2.76 mice were randomly divided into four groups, each having eight mice:Group I, the control group, inoculated with adjuvants;Group II, the Aβ4. group, inoculated with Aβ4. vaccine;Group Ⅲ, the Aβ1―15 group, inoculated with Aβ1―15 vaccine;and Group IV, the Aβ36―4. group, inoculated with Aβ36―4. *** titer of the serum anti-body against Aβ4.(Group II) was significantly higher than that of the control group(Group I), and a low level of antibodies could be detected in the brain homogenate in the three vaccine-inoculated *** water maze test showed that the Aβ4. group, Aβ1―15 group and Aβ36―4. group were obviously im-proved compared with the control *** cultured splenocytes sampled from each group were induced by Con A or their respective antigens, and the cell proliferation of the three vaccine-inoculated groups was significantly higher than that of the control *** the Aβ4. group, IL2.and IFN-γ were relatively low and IL4.and IL10 were relatively *** contrast, IL4.and IL10 were much higher in the Aβ1―15 group and IL2.and IFN-γ were much higher in the Aβ36―4. *** immunohistochemical test showed a large number of senile plaques in the brain cortex and hippocampus of the mice in the con-trol group, no senile plaque in the brain of the Aβ1―15 group and Aβ4. group mice, and a small number of senile plaques in the brain of the Aβ36―4. group *** results suggest that the subunit fragment of Aβ1―15 vaccine could prevent not only cognitive and behavioral degeneration but also Aβ deposition and formation of senile plaques in Tg2.76 mice.
