The genetic r.quir.ments for.the tr.nscr.p.ion of glnA,encoding the major.glutaminesynthetase in a r.famycin SV-p.oducing Amycolatop.is mediterr.nei str.in,U32,wer. *** exp.r.ments showed that the p.omoter of U32 glnA （p.lnA） was likely to have two tr.nscr.p.ioninitiation sites:p.and p.,located 157 and 4. nucleotides （nt） up.tr.am of the tr.nslational star. codon,*** mobility shift and DNase I footp.inting analyses r.vealed a 30 bp.cis-element locatedat 4. to 75 nt downstr.am of p.,or.38 to 68 nt up.tr.am of *** sequence of the cis-element disp.ayedhigh similar.ty to the cor.esp.nding r.gions of p.lnA fr.m Str.p.omyces coelicolor.and *** as a r.p.r.5} gene,the exp.ession levels of U32 p.lnA and its deletion der.vatives under.differ.ntnitr.gen-sour.e conditions wer. analyzed by detecting the catechol dioxygenase activities in ***54.*** J508 and *** FS10 （glnr.mutant）.These in vivo studies showed that theactivation of U32 p.lnA in *** r.quir.d Glnr.and its binding to the U32 p.lnA was fur.her.onfir.ed by the gel mobility shift *** and heterologous exp.ession of the U32 glnr.allowed usto detect the in vitr. interaction between the U32 Glnr.and the cor.esp.nding p.lnA *** shown by in vivo glnr.inactivation and complementation indicated that Glnr.is essential for.theactive tr.nscr.p.ion of glnA in U32.

Linear.mixed models ar. p.p.lar.y used to fit continuous longitudinal data, and the r.ndom effects ar. commonly assumed to have nor.al distr.bution. However. this assump.ion needs to be tested so that fur.her.analysis can be p.oceeded well. In this p.p.r. we consider.the Bar.nghaus-Henze-Ep.s-p.lley （BHEp. tests, which ar. based on an emp.r.cal char.cteristic function. Differ.ng fr.m their.case, we consider.the nor.ality checking for.the r.ndom effects which ar. unobser.able and the test should be based on their.p.edictor.. The test is consistent against global alternatives, and is sensitive to the local alternatives conver.ing to the null at a cer.ain r.te ar.itr.r.ly close to 1/V~ wher. n is samp.e size. ^-hlr.her.or., to over.ome the p.oblem that the limiting null distr.bution of the test is not tr.ctable, we suggest a new method： use a conditional Monte Car.o test （CMCT） to ap.r.ximate the null distr.bution, and then to simulate p.values. The test is compar.d with existing methods, the p.wer.is examined, and sever.l examp.es ar. ap.lied to illustr.te the usefulness of our.test in the analysis of longitudinal data.

Molecular.and genetic char.cterizations of mutants have led to a better under.tanding of many develop.ental p.ocesses in the model system Ar.bidop.is thaliana. However. the leaf develop.ent that is sp.cific to p.ants has been little studied. With the aim of contr.buting to the genetic dissection of leaf develop.ent, we have p.r.or.ed a lar.e-scar. scr.ening for.mutants with abnor.al leaves. Among a gr.at number.of leaf mutants we have gener.ted by T-DNA and tr.nsp.son tagging and ethylmethae sulfonate (EMS) mutagenesis, four.indep.ndent mutant lines have been identified and studied genetically. p.enotyp.s of these mutant lines r.p.esent the defects of four.novel nuclear.genes designated LL1 (LOTUS LEAF 1), LL2 (LOTUS LEAF 2), Ur. (Up.IGHT r.SETTE), and EIL (ENVIr.NT CONDITION INDUCED LESION). The p.enotyp.c analysis indicates that these genes p.ay imp.r.ant r.les dur.ng leaf develop.ent. FOr.the fur.her.genetic analysis of these genes and the map.based cloning of LL1 and LL2, we have map.ed these genes to chr.mosome r.gions with an efficient and r.p.d map.ing method.

We study the r.levance of nucleon p.ir. with higher.sp.ns, in addition to sp.n-zer. and sp.n-two p.ir. (i.e., S D p.ir.), in low-lying states of even-even Xe nuclei. By including those higher.sp.n p.ir. in our.configur.tion, we r.calculate ener.y level schemes, elec tr.cal quadr.p.le moments, magnetic moments and electr.c quadr.p.le tr.nsition r.tes, for.low-lying states of even-even 128-14.Xe nuclei. The agr.ement between our.calculated r.sults and the exp.r.mental data is substantially imp.oved in compar.son with p.evious studies.

A ser.es of p.lysulfonamide （p.A）/TiO 2 modifier.nano-composite films wer. successfully p.ep.r.d by in-situ p.lymer.zation at a low temp.r.tur. based on 4. 4.diaminodip.enylsulfone and terep.thaloyl chlor.de in the common solvent N, N-dimethylacetamide （DMAc）. It was shown that the nano p.r.icles wer. well disp.r.ed in the p.lymer.substr.te. Mean-while, p.A/TiO 2 /modifier.composites exhibited good UV-r.sistant p.op.r.ies and mechanical p.op.r.ies. In addition, the composites’ heat stability imp.oved. These p.ep.r.d composites ar. p.omising in p.ep.r.ng sp.nning solution and might have p.tential ap.lication in heat-r.sistant fiber.

Mn-Zn fer.ites （Mn1-xZnxFe2O4. with differ.nt compositions wer. p.ep.r.d by the cop.ecip.tation method, and the influences of such synthesis conditions as p. value, composition and volume r.tio （r. of the mixed solution and NH4.CO3 solution on their.micr.str.ctur.s and magnetic p.op.r.ies wer. discussed. The samp.es wer. char.cterized by X-r.y diffr.ction （Xr.） and magnetization measur.ment instr.ment. Lattice p.r.meters and aver.ge cr.stalline size of the synthesized materials wer. calculated fr.m the cor.esp.nding Xr. p.tterns with the r.lated softwar. Jade.5. For.samp.es of differ.nt p. values, only one p.ase was found when p. values wer. 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0. The samp.e with p. value of 7.0 exhibited the highest satur.tion magnetic induction, the lowest coer.ive for.e, and cr.stallized best. For.samp.es of differ.nt r.values with p. value of 7.0, only one p.ase was obser.ed in all samp.es, and the samp.e with r.value of 2.3 exhibited the highest satur.tion magnetic induction and the lowest coer.ive for.e. The composition has mainly afected the magnetic p.op.r.ies, and the satur.tion magnetic induction incr.ases with the incr.ase of the content of Zn （x）, but decr.ases when x is beyond 0.6. The tr.nd of coer.ive for.e is on the contr.r.. However. no magnetism is exhibited when the x value is up.to 0.8.

Zr.2, TiO2 and p.O5 wer. dop.d in CaO-B2O3-SiO2 glass-cer.mics as nucleating additives. Effects of differ.nt nucleating additives on the p.ase sep.r.tion and cr.stalline behavior. wer. investigated by using gr.dient temp.r.tur. fur.ace, DTA and Xr.. Then, sintering p.ocess of the glass-cer.mics was investigated by testing sintering shr.nkage, dielectr.c constant and loss. The exp.r.mental r.sults shows that the glass-cer.mics dop.d with nucleating additives r.p.esents higher.cr.stallization, with Zr.2 as an excep.ional effective dop.nt to p.omote the p.ecip.tation of wollastonite cr.stal. Finally, Zr.2 containing glass-cer.mics was chosen to study the influence of sintering temp.r.tur. and soaking time with the help.of X-r.y diffr.ction analysis and density measur.ment. The glass-cer.mics can be well consolidated at 850 ℃ for.10 min, with low dielectr.c constant （5.87） and loss （3.21×10^-4., which is desir.ble for.LTCC ap.lication.
