DEM, which becomes a major component of geographic information processing in earth and engineering sciences, has been studied in the GIS literature for a long time. We use DEM to represent the terrain in GIS. The more data are available, the better representations of a terrain can be built. But not all tasks in the framework of a given application necessarily require the same accuracy, and even a single task may need different levels of accuracy in different areas of the domain. Multiresolution models, such as LOD, offer the possibility of representing and analyzing a terrain at a range of different levels of detail. In this paper, some key issues in multiresolution DEM model are studied. Three main models are focused on Hierarchical TIN(HTIN), multiresolution terrain model based Delaunay and Hierarchical Dynamic Simplification. The advantages and disadvantages of these methods are analyzed. The technology of tile to tile edge match is studied to maintain the consistency between adjacent edges and tile edges in HTIN model. And the Hypergraph based Objected oriented Model(HOOM) is presented to divide and code spatial area and describe the terrain feature in adding and deleting points based on Delaunay rule retriangulating. The conclusions have been drawn in the end.

We propose a novel correlation optical time domain reflectometry (C-OTDR) of using broadband chaotic light. This reflectometry has the advantage over the conventional OTDR and the pseudorandom signal C-OTDR in range-independent spatial resolution. We employ a laser diode with feedback from a long fiber ring cavity as the source of chaotic probe light. Experimental and numerical studies show that the chaotic light has broad and flat spectrum, and excellent correlation properties. Using this broadband chaotic laser, we experimentally demonstrate the proposed chaos C-OTDR for locating the fiber reflection events, and analyze the spatial resolution and dynamic range. The results show that the chaos C-OTDR can realize a range-independent resolution of 6 cm and its dynamic range is at least 25 km.

Maize seedlings were cultured in nickel or cadmium contaminated sand treated with α-naphthylacetic acid (NAA). The effeets of NAA on nickel and cadmium uptake in roots, shoots, and subcellular fractions (cell wall, nuclei and remained parts of seedling cells) were determined. The data showed growth promotion when NAA was applied at low concentrations and inhibition at high concentrations. Uptake of nickel and cadmium content increased concurmntly in roots and shoots. In thesubcellular fraction, nickel and cadmium was greatest in the cell wall. The changes in growth had greatest cormlation Wtih nickel and cadmium content in the subeellular fraction.

In order to better support Antarctic inland ice sheet expedition from Zhongshan Station to Dome A,the topographic data are *** present,although the entire Antarctic DEM provided by RAMP(Ra-darsat Antarctic mapping Project) was estimated at the highest horizontal(spatial) resolution of about 200 m,the real horizontal resolution of the DEM varies from place to place depending on the density and scale of the original source *** ice shelves and the inland ice sheet,the horizontal resolution is about 5 km;the vertical accuracy is estimated to be ±50 m in interior East Antarctic ice sheet and away from the mountain ***,more accurate topographic data are unavailable in *** order to meet the requirements of high-accuracy topographic information for further researches,this paper mainly addresses a fusion study of ASTER stereo pairs and ICESat/GLAS altimetry data for extraction of high-accuracy DEM in East Antarctica,based on the high horizontal resolution(15 m) of ASTER and vertical accuracy(13.8 cm) of ICESat/***,some altimetry data were selected as vertical control points to reduce errors of image correlation matching during the extraction of ASTER-based ***,ice sheet altimetry data derived from ICESat were used to generate DEM ranging from 75° to 81°S because existing ASTER data do not cover this area and high density of the coverage of ICESat altimetry ***,the DEM in coverage of the expedition route was *** analysis of result reveals that the DEM accuracy is improved *** absolute vertical accuracy of DEM is higher than 15 m in some cases and higher than 30 m for all the areas along the expedition route except from the 009-001 scene;the interior accuracy is higher than 15 m and higher than 7 m in some *** can meet the requirements of topographic map at 1:50000 scale,which is an economic and advantageous method to produce the topographic products.

A study of the catalytic activity of V2O5/C catalyst for the oxygen oxidation of glyoxal has been made, showing that glyoxylic acid can be formed without control of pH value and there is little oxalic acid from the excessive oxidation of glyoxylic acid. The studies of XRD and TEM have shown that V2O5 diffraction peaks gradually strengthen with the increase of the content of V2O5. With the content of 3% V2O5 and the calcination temperature of 573 K, V2O5/C catalyst displayed the best activity and selectivity. The conversion of glyoxal and the selectivity of glyoxylic acid reached 18.76% and 77.70% after 5 h, respectively. Moreover, V2O5/C catalyst showed small deactivation after recycling three times, which indicates that V2O5/C has a higher stability than noble metal catalysts in the reaction medium.

C60 is successfully solubilized in micelle of six kinds of surfactants and UV/Vis spectra ofC60 in micellar system are studied. It is found that Brij-35 is the most efficient surfactant forsolubilization of C60 and the possible states of C60 existed in surfactants are also *** of surface tension show that the sites for solubilization of C60 not only depend on thesorts of surfactants but also on their structures.

A key problem for an adaptive filter is to establish a suitable adaptive factor for balancing the contributions of the measurements and the predicted state information from some kinematic models. The reasonable adaptive factor needs a reliable learning statistics to judge the state kinematic model errors. After analyzing the existing two kinds of learning statistics based on the state discrepancy and variance component ratio, a new learning statistic based on predicted residuals is set up, which is different from the exiting learning statistics. The new learning statistic does not need to estimate the kinemetic state parameters before the filtering process, Of course, it does not need necessary measurements to estimate state parameters for all observation epochs. The new learning statistic can be applied together with the learning factor constructed by the state discrepancy. The advantages and shortcomings of the new learning factor are analyzed, and an example is given.
