In order to exploit the intra-view and inter-view dependencies in stereo video coding, a fast joint motion and disparity estimation algorithm is proposed in this paper. An efficient search strategy based on the motion-disparity constraint is developed, in which both the motion and disparity vectors can be obtained simultaneously with low complexity. Moreover, a credible initial predictive vector set is designed with the aid of the temporal and spatial neighboring blocks so that the coding efficiency can be further enhanced. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can reduce more than 96% coding time compared with the JMVM full search with a negligible quality drop.

Efficient reconfigurable field programmable gate array （FPGA） architectures for the MD6-2.4.2.6/384.512.Hash algorithm are proposed in this article. The basic iterative compact design requires 92. ALMs and achieves a throughput ranging from 2.5 Mbit/s to 394.Mbit/s at a maximum frequency of 198 MHz. The 32.step-urtrolled high-throughput design requires 7 090 ALMs and achieves a throughput ranges from 5 776 Mbit/s to 9 4.0 Mbit/s at a maximum frequency of 173 MHz. The simulation results show that high flexibility and efficient FPGA implementation of the MD6 Hash function is achieved.

A kind of discounted problems for singular diffusion control have been studied. The drift and diffusion coefficients of state process are nonlinear. The class of models has been basically extended from a corresponding one established by Karatzes et al. before. By applying some analysis methods different from earlier works, the sufficient and necessary conditions of the existence of optimal control have been obtained. If an optimal control exists, it is a 'transient reflection' of state process for two lines.

In order to solve the problem between searching performance and convergence of genetic algorithms, a fast genetic algorithm generalized self-adaptive genetic algorithm (GSAGA) is presented. (1) Evenly distributed initial population is generated. (2. Superior individuals are not broken because of crossover and mutation operation for they are sent to subgeneration directly. (3) High quality im- migrants are introduced according to the condition of the population schema. (4. Crossover and mutation are operated on self-adaptation. Therefore, GSAGA solves the coordination problem between convergence and searching performance. In GSAGA, the searching per- formance and global convergence are greatly improved compared with many existing genetic algorithms. Through simulation, the val- idity of this modified genetic algorithm is proved.

Based on the radioactive tracer [ ~ 18 F]2.fluoro-2.deoxy-D-glucose （FDG）, positron emission tomography （PET）, and compartment model, the tracer kinetic study has become an important method to investigate the glucose metabolic kinetics in human body. In this work, the kinetic parameters of three-compartment and four-parameter model for the FDG metabolism in the tissues of myocardium, lung, liver, stomach, spleen, pancreas, and marrow were estimated through some dynamic FDG-PET experiments. Together with published brain and skeletal muscle parameters, a relatively complete whole-body model was presented. In the liver model, the dual blood supply from the hepatic artery and the portal vein to the liver was considered for parameter estimation, and the more accurate results were obtained using the dual-input rather than the single arterial-input. The established whole-body model provides the functional information of FDG metabolism in human body. It can be used to further investigate the glucose metabolism, and also be used for the simulation and visualization of FDG metabolic process in human body.

Ecolocation (error controlling localization technique) is a novel sequence-based RF localization algorithm.A key feature of the Ecolocation algorithm is that it constructs a constraint table based on RSSI values and compares data between two ***,the definitions of the constraint and the centroid in the Ecolocation algorithm are imperfect,and result in poor localization *** improve the localization accuracy,a new algorithm based on weighted rank order correlation coefficient and dynamic centroid method is *** results indicate that compared with the Ecolocation,the localization accuracy and robustness of the new algorithm are distinctly raised.

The line search strategy is crucial for an efficient unconstrained optimization algorithm. One of the reason why the Wolfe line searches is recommended lies in that it ensures positive definiteness of BFGS updates. When gradient information has to be obtained costly, the Armijo-Goldstein line searches may be preferred. To maintain positive difiniteness of BFGS updates based on the Armijo-Goldstein line searches, a slightly modified form of BFGS update is proposed by I.D. Coope and C.J. Price (Journal of Computational Mathematics, 13 (1995), 156-160), while its convergence properties is open up to now. This paper shows that the modified BFGS algorithm is globally and superlinearly convergent based on the Armijo-Goldstein line searches.

Bit-interleaved coded modulation with iterative decoding (BICM-ID) is a bandwidth efficient trans- mission scheme which is well suitable for next-generation mobile communications. The interleaver design is critical to the high performance of BICM-ID. In this paper we investigate the application of the chaos theory to the interleaver design to further improve the performance of BICM-ID. A new interleaving scheme based on the chaos theory is proposed. Compared with the random interleaver, the proposed approach has the ad- vantages including lower system delay and higher transmission efficiency. Simulation results in both additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and Rayleigh fading channel are provided, which demonstrates that the new interleaver is better than the random interleaver and exhibits excellent performance when applied to the BICM-ID system.

A multiple round quantum dense coding scheme based on the quantum phase estimation algorithm is proposed and implemented in a three qubit nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) quantum computer. Using an m + 1 qubit system, Bob can transmit one of 2.+1 messages to Alice, through manipulating only one qubit and exchanging it between Alice and Bob for m rounds. The information capacity is enhanced to m + 1 bits as compared to m bits in a classical scheme. The scheme has been demonstrated in NMR system, and the experimental results show a good agreement between theory and experiment.
