A semi-implicit and Eulerian - Lagrangian finite difference method for three-dimensionalshallow flow has been extended to a more complete system of equations incorporating second-moment turbulence closure model and transport equations of salinity and temperature. The simulation for flooding and drying of mudflats has been improved. The model is applied to Xiamen waters. Based on extensive survey data, water level elevation, temperature and salinity field along the eastern open boundary and at the Jiulong River inlets and runoffs are analyzed, specified and calibrated. The computed results show good agreement with the measured data, reproduce flooding, emergence of large and complex mudflat region.

In this paper, a nonsteady atmosphere-earth surface coupled anomaly model is used to conduct both comparative experiments on the physical processes of model and monthly forecasting experiments for anomaly fields. It is shown that after further improvement it is hopeful for the anomaly model with two-hour time step to do monthly forecasting of anomaly fields by taking long period time integration. The comparative experiments show that the interaction between the atmosphere and the surface has significant influence on the long range variation for both atmospheric geopotential anomalies and surface temperature anomalies, and transient eddy transport has also certain effects on the variation of anomaly fields.

Temperature data at different layers of the past 4. years were studied and we found adiploe mode in the thermocline layer (DMT): anomalously cold sea temperature off the coast of Sumatra and warm sea temperature in the western Indian Ocean. First, we analyzed the temperature and the temperature anomaly (TA) along the equatorial Indian Ocean in different layers. This shows that stronger cold and warm TA signals appeared at subsurface than at the surface in the tropical Indian O-cean. This result shows that there may be a strong dipole mode pattern in the subsurface tropical Indian Ocean. Secondly we used Empirical Orthogonal Functions (EOF) to analyze the TA at thermocline layer. The first EOF pattern was a dipole mode pattern. Finally we analyzed the correlations between DMT and surface tropical dipole mode (SDM), DMT and Nino 3 SSTA, etc. and these correlations are strong.

The mineralization ages reported in the past in the Tuwu-Yandong copper district not only are different,but also fall into the Hercynian *** study has achieved 9 zircon and 7 apatite fission track analysis *** zircon fission track ages range from 158 Ma to 289 Ma and the apatite ages are between 64.Ma and 14. *** mineralization accords with the regional tectonics in the copper *** consider that the zircon fission track age could reveal the mineralization age based on annealing zone temperature of 14.―300℃ and retention temperature of ～250℃ for zircon fission track,and metallogenetic temperature of 120―350℃ in this ore *** three mineralization epochs have been identified,i.e.,289―276 Ma,232―200 Ma and 165―158 Ma,and indicate occurrence of the min-eralization in the Indosinian and Yanshan *** to apatite fission track ages,the three tectonic-mineralizing epochs are 14.―132 Ma,109―97 Ma and 64.Ma,which means age at about 100℃ after the *** three epochs lasted 14. Ma,108 Ma and about 100 Ma from ～250℃ to ～100℃ and trend decrease from early to *** is shown by the fission track modeling that this district underwent three stages of geological thermal histories,stable in Cretaceous and cooling both before Cretaceous and after 20 Ma.

The LB film of the title complex was prepared by dropping a benzene solution of the title complex on the surfaceof water subphase at 25±1℃.The film was deposited in Z type on various hydrophilic pretreated substrates ofquartz,CaF;and electronic conductive glass for different *** π-A curve of the film shows that thecross section per molecule is 125;,which indicates that the alkyl chain of the molecule is basically perpendiculalto the surface of the ***,IR spectra and transmission electronic microscopy of the film were also obtained.

We analyzed vertical distributions of ozone (O3) in the lower troposphere (4. episodic pollution type and (5) alti- tudinal increasing type. Vertical distributions of O3 affected by regional transport of polluted air masses were investigated. Transport of polluted air from high latitudes of northern China, ac- companying subsiding motion of air and stagnant atmospheric conditions are important factors that lead to high mixing ratios of O3 at Lin’an. The stagnant atmospheric conditions associated with a continental high pressure system and pollution plume transported from the YRD and cen- tral-eastern China also lead to regional accumulation of O3 and high O3 mixing ratio at Lin’an. Long-range transport of O3 and pollutants from the Pearl River Delta in South China and in-situ O3 formation also resulted in elevated O3 mixing ratios at around 1 km altitudes and layered O3 distribution in the lower troposphere.

The climatic time series encompass many time scales, forming multi-scale climatic variations and hierarchies. The periods and magnitudes of cooling or warming, especially for extreme climatic events, vary with the time scales. On the other hand, high-frequency atmospheric turbulent motions, which are certainly related to the climatic changes, are also typical multi-scale phenomena. In this paper, certain properties of the fluctuations are examined that are invariant with the change of the time scales. Specifically, the existence of a statistical similarity law is demonstrated in climatic time series and in atmospheric turbulent motions. This is the hierarchical similarity law. Further analyses show that the hierarchical similarity law is a general property of multi-scale fluctuation systems. Therefore, the study on the hierarchical similarity law is important for understanding the inherent universal physical mechanism of complex systems in the atmospheric motions.

The aim of this work is an improvement of the parameterization of the soil moisture in the scheme of the Land Surface Process Model (LSPM) for applications over desert areas. In fact, in very dry conditions, the water vapour flux plays an important role in the evaporation processes and influences the underground profiles of humidity and temperature. The improved version of soil moisture parameterization in the LSPM scheme has been checked by using the data taken from the database of the field experiment HAPEX-Sahel (Hydrology-Atmosphere Pilot Experiment in the Sahel, 1990-1992). Model simulations refer to three dif- ferent stations located in Niger (Fallow, Millet and Tiger sites) where input data for LSPM and observations were simultaneously available. The results of simulations, taking into account the water vapour flux in the soil model LSPM, seem to compare better with the observed behaviour of soil moisture and turbulent heat fluxes than those overlooking the water vapour flux, confirming the great importance of the water vapour in such dry conditions.
