Strategic environmental assessment (SEA) in china has developed rapidly since it was introduced into china in the 1990s. Chinese government promulgated the environmental Impact Assessment Law of china (hereinafter referred to as the EIA Law) in 2.02. In this law, it is stipulated clearly that regional and sector plans should be assessed. Through investigating materials and analyzing literatures, this article analyses the practical and academic study achievements of SEA in china that have been achieved since the EIA Law was implemented, probes into the current situation of the main level of SEA in china-plan EIA, then summarizes the development characteristics, and eventually, puts forward the development trends of SEA in china. The research conclusions can offer the foundations for comprehending systematically the progress of SEA in china.

By using high-pressure treatment, two mutant lines were obtained from agenetically stable japonica rice cultivar Bijing38. Genomic DNA of the mutant lines, together withthe original line (Bijing38), was either undigested or digested by Hpa ⅡIMspⅠ, and then subjectedto molecular analysis using two markers, ISSR and RAPD. Results indicated that changes in the PCRamplification profiles of both markers are apparent in the two mutant lines compared with theoriginal rice cultivar, suggesting that there had been both sequence changes and DNA methylationmodifications in the mutant lines. Southern blot analysis using diverse sequences, including twocellular genes (S2.and S3), a set of retrotransposons (Osr7, Osr36, Tos19 and more), and a MITEtransposon family (mPing and Pong), confirmed the results, and indicated that changes in DNAmethylation pattern, genomic structure, and possible activation of some transposons indeed occurredin the mutant lines. Moreover, these changes are stably maintained through selfed generations and indifferent organs. Thus, our results indicate that it is possible to obtain stable mutants in riceby high pressure treatments, and the molecular basis of the mutants may include both genetic andepigenetic changes. Therefore, high hydrostatic pressure seems a promising approach for plantmutagenesis.

To identify ecotypic variation of L. chinensis, the physiological characteristics and environmental factors were measured and assessed for grey-green and yellow-green ecotypes of L. chinensis grown in the salt-alkalized and aeolian sandy soils. Although both ecotypes presented a similar salt-alkaline tolerance under the experimental conditions, they differed in several aspects. The L. chinensis grown in the aeolian sandy soils had higher water potential and chlorophyll content and lower proline content in their leaves than those grown in the salt-alkalized habitat, and the grey-green ecotype of L. chinensis in both types of soils had higher water potential, chlorophyll and proline contents than the yellow-green ecotype. Besides, grey-green ecotypes had higher salt-alkaline tolerance than the yellow-green ecotype. The stepwise regression analysis showed that soil conductance and pH value were the main ecological factors affecting the physiology of L. chinensis. From the natural distribution of the two ecotypes, we considered that salt-alkaline in the soils is the leading factor in determining ecotypic variation of L. chinensis. The two ecotypes were first named grey-green and yellow-green ecotypes respectively.

This study was conducted to identify bacteria responsible for the elimination of sludge in an innovative gravel contact oxidation reactor (GCOR) and a conventional activated sludge reactor(ASR).Fluorescent in situ hybridization revealed thatα-,β-,γ- andε-Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes were present in both *** the GCOR,γ-Proteobacteria accounted for 13%of the biofilm biomass on the carrier,whileα-,ε- andβ-Proteobacteria accounted for 12..However,the predominant bacteria in the pores of the carrier in the GCOR were Bacteroidetes(18%),ε-Proteobacteria(13%),β- andα-Proteobacteria(10%) andγ-Proteobacteria(9%).Conversely,β-Proteobacteria(18%),Bacteroidetes(13%),α- andγ-Proteobacteria(12.) andε-Proteobacteria(5%) dominated the sediment community of the ASR.

Cubic boron nitride (cBN) is a kind of artificial (synthetic) crystal. Transverse electro-optic modulation in a minute cBN sample was carried out. Basing on the practical form of the crystal, we established the theoretical and experimental method according to the sample. For the first time, the linear electro-optic effect was observed in cBN, and half-wave voltage of the cBN sample was measured successfully. Furthermore, its linear electro-optic coefficient was calculated at 1.17×10?14.m/V.

The objectives of this study were to examine (1) optimal clutch size in great tits (Parus major) nesting in nest boxes; (2. variation in egg morphology and nestling growth rate with position in the laying sequence; and (3) hatching asynchrony and nestling survival as determined by infrared nest cameras. We collected data from 73 clutches in artificial nest boxes in the Zuojia Natural Preserve area in jilin Province, china, in 2.05 and 2.06, using infrared cameras to match laying order to hatching order for four nests. Egg morphology and growth rate were significantly affected by clutch size and position in the laying order. Overall, egg size and growth rate increased with position in the laying order. In general, it was diffcult to detect asynchronous hatching from observations alone, but data from our infrared cameras showed that early-laid eggs tended to hatch before later-laid eggs, leading to hatching asynchrony. However, females invested more into last-laid eggs and nestlings, reducing size asynchrony among the chicks and leading to higher survival rates of nestlings. Our results, therefore, provide support for the "brood survival" hypothesis rather than for the"brood reduction" hypothesis.

Technologies of underground mobile positioning were proposed based on LiDAR data and coded sequence pattern landmarks for mine shafts and tunnels environment to meet the needs of fast and accurate positioning and navigation of equipments in the mine underground without satellite navigation signals. A coded sequence pattern was employed for automatic matching of 3D scans. The methods of SIFT feature, Otsu segmentation and fast hough transformation were described for the identification, positioning and interpretation of the coded sequence patterns, respectively. The POSIT model was presented for speeding up computation of the translation and rotation parameters of LiDAR point data, so as to achieve automatic 3D mapping of mine shafts and tunnels. The moving positioning experiment was applied to evaluating the accuracy of proposed pose estimation method from LiDAR scans and coded sequence pattern landmarks acquired in an indoor environment. The performance was evaluated using ground truth data of the indoor setting so as to measure derivations with six degrees of freedom.
