Aim:To develop a simple method for monitoring protein localization of epidermalgrowth factor(EGF)in living ***:Enhanced green fluorescent protein(EGFP)was used as an autofluorescent tag to label EGF ***-PAGE andWestern blot analysis were used to detect the expression of the EGFP-tagged EGF(EGFP-EGF)*** cell-binding and internalization activity of EGFP-EGFwere analyzed by fluorescence-activated cell sorting(FACS)and confocal ***:EGFP-EGF protein was expressed in Escherichia coli and purified.A cell-binding assay demonstrated that the EGFP-EGF protein could bind effi-ciently to the cells expressing *** binding and internalization of EGFP-EGFcan be visualized even at a very low concentration under confocal *** FACS-based assay for internalization activity indicated the accumulation ofinternalized EGFP-EGF over ***,the results of the competitionassay indicated its EGFR binding *** such a method,it does notneed to label EGF with chemicals and avoid light in the experimental ***:The fusion protein EGFP-EGF has several characters including highsensitivity,stability and convenience for manipulation,and is a powerful tool forthe study of EGF endocytosis.

This paper presents a graphics processing unit (GPU) based stylization approach that preserves the fine structure between the original and the stylized images using gradient *** abstraction and painterly stylization methods focused on contrast manipulation only,and thus the detailed salient structures of the input images are always destroyed when performing the current stylization techniques because of limitations like unavoidable salience information loss caused by contrast *** propose an image structure map to naturally model the fine structure existing in the original ***-based structure tangent generation and tangent-guided image morphology are used to construct the structure *** image structure map,unlike an edge map,not only systematically models the boundary information within the imagery but also accentuates the underlying inner structure detail for further *** facilitate the final stylization via parallel bilateral grid and structure-aware stylizing optimization on a GPU-CUDA platform in real *** multiple experiments,the proposed method consistently demonstrates efficient and high quality image stylization performance.

In this paper, a new scheme that combines Space-Time Block-Coding (STBC) based on an Alamouti-like scheme and the Least Squares (LS) channel estimation using optimal training sequences in Cyclic-Prefix-based (CP)\Single-Carrier (SC) systems is proposed. With two transmit antennas, based on Cramer-Rao lower bound for channel estimation, it is shown that the Periodic Comple- mentary Set (PCS) is optimal over frequency-selective fading channels. Compared with the normal scheme without STBC, 3dB Mean Square Error (MSE) performance gains and fewer restrictions on the length of channel impulse response are demonstrated.

The main object of the present research is to make a quantitative evaluation on the microstructure of carbon materials in terms of microcrystal. The digitized images acquired from finely pulverized carbon materials under HRTEM at a high magnification were processed by the image processing software so as to extract the fringes of (002) lattice of graphite crystal from the background image, and an FFT-IFFT filtering operation was performed followed by processes as binarization for the image and skeletonization for the fringes. A set of geometrical parameters including position, length and orientation was set up for every lattice fringe by calculating the binarized image. Then, the above obtained fringe parameters were put into an algorithm, which was especially developed for such fringe images so as to find fringes that could be regarded as those belonged to one single graphite microcrystal. The fringe was subjected sequentially to comparing procedures with every other fringe on aspects as parallelism, relative position and spacing, and the above comparisons were repeated till the last fringe. Eventually, the microcrystal size, its stacking number, and the distribution of the microcrystal in the whole sample, as well as other related structure information of such microcrystal in carbon materials were statistically calculated. Such microstructure information at nanometer level may contribute greatly to the interpretation of the properties of carbon materials and a better correlation with the same macrostructure.

Variation of phytoplankton community before an induced cyanobacterial(Arthrospira platensis) bloom

A cyanobacterial （Arthrospira platensis） bloom was induced in situ by nutrient manipulation in an enclosure. The succession of the phytoplankton community and the water chemistry variations before the appearance of bloom, as well as their relationship, were investigated. The cell pigment variations were studied simultaneously. The Pearson＇s correlation analysis showed that there was no significant correlation between water chemistry and green algal or cyanobacterial composition, indicating that water chemistry variations were not suitable to be used as indicators for cyanobacterial-bloom early-warning. However, the diversity index of the phytoplankton community decreased sharply before the bloom appeared. Therefore, the dynamics of phytoplankton community was put forward to be an indicator for cyanobacterial-bloom early-warning. In addition, the cell pigment variations represented the changes of community structure, which should be useful for studying the dynamics of phytoplankton community.

Based on the theory of stratification, the well-posedness of the initial value problem for the linear shallow-water equations on an equatorial beta-plane was discussed. The sufficient and necessary conditions of the existence and uniqueness for the local solution of the equations were presented and the existence conditions for formal solutions of the equations vere also given. For the Cauchy problem on the hyper-plane {t = O}, the local analytic solution were worked out and a special case was discussed. Finally, an example was used to explain the variety of formal solutions for the ill-posed problem.

Aim:To investigate the effects of orexin A on release of histamine,norepinephrine,and serotonin in the frontal cortex of ***:Samples for measuringhistamine,norepinephrine,and serotonin contents were collected by in vivomicrodialysis of the frontal cortex of anesthetized *** histamine,noradrenaline,and serotonin content in dialysates were measured by ***:Intracrebroventricular injection of orexin A at doses of 12.5,50,and 200 pmol per mouse promoted histamine release from the frontal cortex ina dose-dependent *** the highest dose given,200 pmol,orexin A signifi-cantly induced histamine release,with the maximal magnitude being 230% overthe mean basal *** enhanced histamine release was sustained for 140min,and then gradually returned to the basal ***,no change in nore-pinephrine or serotonin release was observed under application of the same doseof orexin ***:These results suggest that the arousal effect of orexin Ais mainly mediated by histamine,not by norepinephrine or serotonin.
