Covarying modes of the Pacific SST and northern hemispheric midlatitude atmospheric circulation anomalies during winter

The interannual-to-interdecadal relationship between the Pacific sea surface temperature (SST) and the northern hemispheric midlati- tude’s atmosphere represented by the circumpolar vortex was documented with the global oceanic and atmospheric reanalysis data of recent 50 *** covarying modes of the Pacific SST and northern circumpolar vortex anomalies during winter were examined using the sin- gular value decomposition and wavelet analysis *** is the interannual,ENSO-related mode and the other is the interdecadal, North Pacific SST-related mode with a period of around 20 *** two modes exhibit distinct spatial *** the interannual mode,the SST anomaly is characterized by a typical ENSO pattern with the principal signature in the tropical eastern Pacific and secondary one in the central North Pacific,while the atmospheric anomaly is regional,characterized by a Pacific-North American *** the inter- decadal mode,large SST anomaly is located in the central North Pacific,while the atmospheric anomaly is zonally global,associated with the midlatitute’s standing long-wave *** the central North Pacific is colder,the long-wave is stronger,and vice *** investigations suggest that the interdecadal mode could involve an interaction between "two oceans and an atmosphere".

A new variant of P systems as an improvement of the original design is introduced. The P systems here allow parallelism in rules application on synapses (or links, channels), rendering the systems more efficient. We describe the execution mechanism of our P systems, make analysis on its computation power, and illustrate the running by an example.

The monomolecular particle agglomerates of polystyrenes were obtained by freeze-drying of its very dilute solutions of 1.3 x 10(-5)-2.0 x 10(-5) g/mL in benzene:cylcohexane (100:1) solvents, and they were annealed at room temperature for hundred days before use. According to C-13-NMR measurement the polystyrenes should be practically atactic. The number average molecular weights of the samples are 2.80 x 10(3), 2.00 x 10(4), and 1.55 x 10(6), respectively. The freeze-dried aPS with a molecular weight higher than 10(4) show two new IR absorption bands at 1098 and 1261 cm(-1), which are absent in the normal aPS and freeze-dried styrene oligomer. It was also found that the low molecular weight samples can only form powders, whereas the freeze-dried aPS with higher molecular weight form a mixture of powders and fibrils, of which the longer fibrils show a much stronger 1261 cm(-1) band than the shorter fibrils and the powder. It seems that the 1261 cm(-1) band corresponds to the stacking behavior of monomolecular particles.

Xonotlite-type insulation material was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis technology using industrial zirconium waste residue in this paper,and the phase analysis together with the observation of micro–morphology were also carried out by XRD,SEM and *** density and thermal conductivity were measured *** results indicate,chlorine ion impurity contained in zirconium waste residue can be removed effectively via water washed process,and the reactive activity of silicon dioxide is almost not affected,which make it be a good substitution of silicon material for the preparation of calcium silicate insulation material by hydrothermal synthesis *** density and thermal conductivity of xonotlite-type calcium silicate insulation material obtained by hydrothermal synthesis technique can reach 159 kg/m3,0.049 W/（m·° C）,respectively,meeting with National Standard well,when synthesis conditions are selected as follows：Ca/Si molar ratio equal to 1,synthesis temperature at 210°C and kept for 8 *** provides a new approach to realize lightweight and low thermal conductivity of calcium silicate insulation material.

Obtaining the average delay and selecting a route in a communication networkare multi-constrained nonlinear optimization problems . In this paper, based on the immune geneticalgorithm, a new fuzzy self-adaptive mutation operator and a new upside-down code operator areproposed. This improved IGA is further successfully applied to solve optimal problems of computercommunication nets.

With the fast development of the micro-electro-mechanical systems （MEMS）,wireless sensor networks （WSNs） have been extensively *** of the studies focus on saving energy consumption because of restricted energy supply in ***-based node scheduling scheme is commonly considered as one of the most energy-efficient ***,it is not always so efficient especially when there exist hot spot and network attacks in *** this article,a secure coverage-preserved node scheduling scheme for WSNs based on energy prediction is proposed in an uneven deployment *** scheme is comprised of an uneven clustering algorithm based on arithmetic progression,a cover set partition algorithm based on trust and a node scheduling algorithm based on energy *** results show that network lifetime of the scheme is 350 rounds longer than that of other scheduling ***,the scheme can keep a high network coverage ratio during the network lifetime and achieve the designed objective which makes energy dissipation of most nodes in WSNs balanced.

The incoherent control of finite-level quantum systems is investigated. Following a brief introduction to coherent control paradigms in quantum control, a control problem that can not be accomplished using only coherent control is presented. For such a control problem, it is proved that it can be accomplished using incoherent control based on projective measurement and coherent control for two classes of finite-level quantum systems, i.e., eigenstate controllable quantum systems and wavefunction controllable quantum systems.
