To increase the low-field magnetostriction of TbFe films, the influences of sputtering angles and annealing temperatures on its magnetic and magnetostrictive performances were systematically investigated. With the change in sputtering angles from 90° to 15°, the in-plane magnetization of TbFe films, at 1600 kA·m-1 external field, is strongly increased. An enhancement in the in-plane magnetostrictive coefficient of the films at 40 kA·m-1 is also observed. A detection of magnetic domains by MFM (magnetic force microscopy) indicates that the easy magnetization direction shifts gradually from perpendicular to parallel to the film plane with decreasing sputtering angles. Annealing can enhance the magnetization and magnetostriction of the TbFe films. However, at too high annealing temperature, both the magnetization and magnetostriction of the TbFe films were suppressed to some extent.

The effect of heat treatment on the phase transformation behavior of TiNiCu shape memory alloy wires and the temperature memory effect in this alloy were investigated by the resistance method. These results showed that with increasing annealing temperature and annealing time, the phase transformation temperatures of TiNiCu wires were shifted to higher temperatures in the heating and cooling process. It was also found that incomplete thermal cycles, upon heating the TiNiCu wires, which were arrested at a temperature between the start and finish temperatures of the reverse martensite transformation, could induce a kinetic stop in the next complete thermal cycle. The kinetic stop temperature was closely related to the previous arrested temperature. This phenomenon was defined as the temperature memory effect. The result of this study was consistent with the previous report on the phenomenon obtained using the differential scanning calorimetry method, indicating that temperature memory effect was a common phenomenon in shape memory alloys.

YBCO high temperature coated conductors are the most promising candidate for large scale superconducting transmission cables and fault current limiters. A modified TFA-MOD method was applied to prepare YBCO layer on Rolling Assisted Biaxially Textured Substrate (RABiTS) with textured Y 2 O 3 /YSZ/CeO 2 buffer layers, resulting in reduced time and cost of fabrication. By using Cu naphthenate instead of Cu(TFA) 2 , the pyrolysis time of the YBCO precursors was reduced significantly. YBCO films with thickness of 2 μm were fabricated with multiple-coating and annealed at high temperature for 2 h. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the films were c-axis oriented. The preliminary results of YBCO films yielded 0.2 MA/cm 2 at 77 K and self field. It is believed current carrying ability of YBCO films could be further improved by reducing the reaction rate at the interface between the buffer layer and superconducting layer.

A new satellite to satellite tracking (SST) algorithm from Doppler-shifted frequency measurements is proposed. The estimation principle is demonstrated and the mathematic model of SST is established. The state estimation methods for a user (the cooperative case) and target satellites (the non-cooperative case) are presented based on particle swarm optimization (PSO). The Cramer-Rao lower bounds (CRLB) are deduced as well. Performance of the new algorithm is validated through computer simulations, which proved that the proposed method is effective in terms of the estimation quality compared with CRLB and superior in accuracy to the Bearings-Only (BO) method in almost all simulation cases except for the case that an enough long tracking arc-length is obtained for a user satellite.

Ni-Cu-Zn ferrite/CaTiO3and Ni-Cu-Zn ferrite/BaTiO3composites which can be applied in low temperature co-fired ceramic（LTCC） technology were synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction at temperature lower than 950℃.Influence of the microstructures and the gap parameterδ/D on the complex permeability of the above two composites was *** modifiedδ/D values of the above two composites show a good fit to the magnetic circuit *** dielectric properties of the composites were predicted by the Maxwell-Garnctt effective medium theory and the discrepancy between measured and calculated values was analyzed.
