Effects of radial velocity on line profiles and images from the standard thin disk

This paper has derived the general formulae of observed line profiles based on the effects of radial velocity on the standard thin disk fluid around a rotating black hole. Through the ray-tracing method the line profiles of different parameters have been calculated. Comparison of the line profiles with and without a radial velocity shows that the effects of radial velocity on line profiles cannot be neglected in most cases. In both cases the accretive disk imaging shape remains unchanged.

Low-ionization nuclear emission regions （LINERs） are present in a large fraction of local galaxies, while their connection to the more luminous active galactic nuclei （AGN） remains elusive. We analyze the narrow band images obtained by the Hubble Space Telescope （HST） in Hα＋[NII] and/or [OIII] band for 23.LINERs and low luminosity Seyfert galaxies in the sample of the Palomar Optical Spectroscopic Survey of nearby galaxies in an attempt to resolve the structure of Narrow Emission Line Regions （NLRs） of these objects. In all cases, NLRs are well resolved and their morphology differs from object to object. Clumps, linear structure, spiral arms or a ring are detected in a large fraction of the objects, while there is no significant difference between Seyfert galaxies and LINERs. We find that the NLR size and the narrow line luminosity are strongly correlated for both LINERs and low luminosity Seyfert galaxies, and that the size of Ha＋[NII] emission line region scales with Ha luminosity as RNLR ∝ LHα^0.44＋0.06, consistent with an extension of the NLR size-luminosity relation defined for luminous Seyfert galaxies and quasars, to two orders of magnitude lower in luminosity and to lower activity levels. Our results suggest that NLRs in LINERs are similar to those of Seyfert galaxies, and they are powered by the central active galactic nucleus.

Interstitial strengthening with nitrogen(N)is one of the effective ways to improve the mechanical properties of HEAs,but the effects of N on the microstructures and mechanical properties of the irradiated HEAs have not been studied ***,the microstructures and mechanical properties of N-free and N-doped Ti_(2)ZrNbV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2)HEAs before and after He irradiation were *** results showed that the solid solution strengthening caused by interstitial N improved the yield strength at room temperature and 1023.K without significantly reducing plasticity.N doping significantly promoted the growth,aggregation and wider spatial distribution of He bubbles by enhancing the mobility of He atoms/He-vacancy complexes,with the average size of He bubbles increasing from 10.4 nm in N-free HEA to 3..0 nm in N-doped *** addition,N-doped HEA showed a much higher irradiation hardness increment and hardening fraction than N-free *** to conventional materials doped with N,the introduction of N into Ti_(2)ZrNbV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2)HEA had adverse effects on its resistance to He bubble growth and irradiation *** results of this study indicated that N doping may not improve the irradiation resistance of HEAs.

AIM: To investigate the possible relationships between alterations in circadian rhythm of melatonin, cortisol andbronchial asthma. METHODS: Salivary melatonin and cortisol were measured simultaneously by radioimmunoas-say in 10 mild intermittent or persistent patients, 11 moderate-to-severe persistent asthma patients, and 15 controlsubjects. Twelve salivary samples were collected in a series during a 24-h period in each subject. RESULTS: Theresults showed overall lower levels of salivary melatonin in asthma patients compared with control subject(P4-h mean level of salivary cortisol was greatly lower and the acrophase was markedly delayedin patients with mild intermittent or persistent asthma (P<0.01) and moderate-to-severe persistent asthma (P<0.05, P<0.01) compared with control subject. CONCLUSION: Disordered circadian rhythms of salivary melato-nin and cortisol were found in asthma patients, which may be involved in the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma.

Recently, motivated by the pioneer work in revealing the small-world effect and scale-free property of various real-life networks, many scientists devote themselves to studying complex networks. One of the ultimate goals is to understand how the topological structures affect the dynamics upon networks. In this paper, we give a brief review on the studies of epidemic dynamics on complex networks, including the description of classical epidemic models, the epidemic spread on small-world and scale-free networks, and network immunization. Finally, perspectives and some interesting problems are proposed.
