Study on lithogeochemistry of Middle Jurassic basalts from southern china represented by the Fankeng basalts from Yongding of Fujian Province

There exists an E-W trending Middle Jurassic volcanic zone in southern china. The Fankeng basalts in the Yongding basin of Fujian Province are considered to be a typical example. The Fankeng basalts have TiO2 contents in the range of 1.92%-3.21%. They are classified as high-Ti basalts. They also have higher total Fe (averaging FeO* = 11.09%). The Middle Jurassic Fankeng basalts from southwestern Fujian have obvious distinctive lithogeochemical features from early Cre- taceous basalts from southeastern coast of china. They have higher HFSE, such as Th, Nb, Ta, Zr and Ti. Their element ratios related with HFSE, such as Zr/Ba, La/Nb, La/Ta ,Zr/Y, Ti/Y, Ba/Nb, K/Ti and Rb/Zr are similar to those of OIB. The most samples have ε Nd(T) of-0.70-0.24, which are near chondrite. Some samples have higher ε Nd(T) of ***, these basaltic magmas might be derived from depleted asthenospheric mantle. The lithogeochemical characteristics of the Fankeng basalts may be caused by interaction between asthenosphere and lithosphere at the time. The (Early-) Middle Jurassic basalts and gabbros from southeastern Hunan, southern Jiangxi and northern Guangdong provinces show similar geochemical features to those of the Fankeng basalts from the Yongding of Fujian. Occurrence of these OIB-type basalts in the area may be regarded as the petrological mark of upwelling of asthenosphere at the time. Upwelling of asthenosphere has led to tectonic extension and the formation of rifted basin in the area.

Regular n-simplices in R^n with vertices in Z^(n)

In this paper the Ⅰ and Ⅱ regular n-simplices are introduced. We prove that the sufficient and necessary conditions for existence of an Ⅰ regular n-simplex in Rn are that if n is even then n = 4m(m + 1), and if n is odd then n = 4m + 1 with that n + 1 can be expressed as a sum of two integral squares or n = 4m - 1, and that the sufficient and necessary condition for existence of a Ⅱ regular n-simplex in Rn is n = 2m2 - 1 or n = 4m(m+1)(m 6 N). The connection between regulars-simplex in Rn and combinational design is given.

An SANS Study of Decomposition Kinetics in Amorphous Cu_(12.5)Ni_(10)Zr_(41)Ti_(14)Be_(22.5)

Phase decomposition in amorphous Cu12.5Ni10Zr411Ti14Be22.5 alloy as annealed in the super-cooled liquid range was studied by applying small angle neutron scattering (SANS). As annealed between 600 K and 700 K, the alloy was observed to decompose into two new amorphous phases,with the second phase precipitates embedded in the matrix of the first. Long time annealing of the alloy results in crystallization in addition to evolution of the decomposed *** kinetic diagram of the decomposition and crystallization for this alloy is given. The second phase precipitates have several nanometers in size and occupy a quite low volume fraction. The decomposition of the supercooled liquid in overall temperature range exhibits the features of spinodal reaction.

Measures and dimensions of fractal sets in local fields

The study of fractal analysis over the local fields as underline spaces is very important since it can motivate new approaches and new ideas, and discover new techniques in the study of fractals. To study fractal sets in a local field K, in this paper, we define several kinds of fractal measures and dimensions of subsets in K. Some typical fractal sets in K are constructed. We also give out the Hausdorff dimensions and measures, Box-counting dimensions and Packing dimensions, and stress that there exist differences between fractal analysis on local fields and Euclidean spaces. Consequently, the theoretical foundation of fractal analysis on local fields is established.

A local probability exponential inequality for the large deviation of an empirical process indexed by an unbounded class of functions and its application

A local probability exponential inequality for the tail of large deviation of an empirical process over an unbounded class of functions is proposed and studied. A new method of truncating the original probability space and a new symmetrization method are given. Using these methods, the local probability exponential inequalities for the tails of large deviations of empirical processes with non-i.i.d. independent samples over unbounded class of functions are established. Some applications of the inequalities are discussed. As an additional result of this paper, under the conditions of Kolmogorov theorem, the strong convergence results of Kolmogorov on sums of non-i.i.d. independent random variables are extended to the cases of empirical processes indexed by unbounded classes of functions, the local probability exponential inequalities and the laws of the logarithm for the empirical processes are obtained.

On critical values concerning the evolution of the long period families

In a previous paper, we proposed another special critical value concerning the evolution of the long period family around the equilateral equilibrium points, besides the two values given by Henrard. Are there any other special critical values？ After studying the stability curves of the long period family carefully, we gave a negative answer. During the study, we found an interesting family of periodic orbits which we called the homo family. We studied the evolution of this family following the increase of μ. With these findings, we were able to explain the origin of the four branches of periodic families emanating from L4 and the stability results of the equilateral equilibrium points.

Depth zonation of Arenigian acritarchs in South china

STAPLIN revealed that palaeoenvironment changes seem to control acritarch distribution patterns. However, scientists have been puzzled by the fact that characteristic offshore acritarchs occur with nearshore ones. This note demonstrates depth zonation of Arenigian acritarchs in South china and reveals the variation of water depth in South china during the Arenig Age.

Polyethylenimine (PEI) has been known as an efficient gene carrier with the highest cationiccharge *** transfection efficiency of PEI,along with its cytotoxicity,strongly depends on itsmolecular *** enhance its gene delivery efficiency and minimize cytotoxicity,we have synthesizedsmall cross-linked PEI with biodegradable linkages and evaluated their transfection efficiencies in *** study,branched PEI with a molecular weight of 800 Da was cross-linked by small diacrylate[1,4-butanediol diacrylate or ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA)] for 2-6 *** efficiencies of thecross-linked PEI in in vitro transfection of plasmid DNA containing enhanced green fluorescent protein(EGFP) reporter gene were assessed in melanoma B 16F10 cell line and other cell *** cytometrywas used to quantify the cellular entry efficiency of plasmid and the transgene expression *** of the cross-linked PEI in these cells were evaluated by MTT ***-PEI 800-4h,atypical cross-linked PEI reported here,mediated a more efficient expression of reporter gene than thecommercially available 25-kDa branched PEI control,and resulted in a 9-fold increase in gene deliveryin B16F10 cells and a 16-fold increase in 293T cells,while no cytotoxicity was found at the optimizedcondition for gene ***,the transfection activity of polyplexes was preserved in thepresence of serum proteins.

Integral expressions of Lyapunov exponents for autonomous ordinary differential systems

In the paper, the author addresses the Lyapunov characteristic spectrum of an ergodic autonomous ordinary differential system on a complete riemannian manifold of finite dimension such as the d-dimensional euclidean space ? d , not necessarily compact, by Liaowise spectral theorems that give integral expressions of Lyapunov exponents. In the context of smooth linear skew-product flows with Polish driving systems, the results are still valid. This paper seems to be an interesting contribution to the stability theory of ordinary differential systems with non-compact phase spaces.
