The release of mercury from intertidal sediment to atmosphere was studied based on the simulated experiment. The experiment samples were collected from the Haibo Estuary (S1) and the Licun Estuary (S2) of the Jiaozhou Bay in China,which are seriously polluted with mercury. The results show that the mercury in sediment releases rapidly to atmosphere under solar radiation. After 8 hours of solar radiation,mercury concentrations decrease from 5.62 μg/g and 2.92 μg/g to 2.3. μg/g and 1.3. μg/g in S1 and S2 sediments respectively in summer,and decrease from 5.62 μg/g and 2.92 μg/g to 4.58 μg/g and 2.13.μg/g respectively in winter. The mercury species in the sediment change markedly under solar radiation. The concentrations of mercury bound to organic matter decrease significantly from 2.73.μg/g to 0.3. μg/g in S1 and from 2.07 μg/g to 0.3. μg/g in S2,and the released mercury mainly comes from mercury bound to organic matter. Mercury flux shows distinguishing characteristic of diurnal change,and it increases rapidly in the morning with the rising of solar radiation intensity,but decreases in the afternoon. The mercury flux increases with sediment temperature and solar radiation intensity. The rapid release of mercury in intertidal sediment plays an important role in the regional mercury cycle.

La0.7Ca0.3.nO3.(LCMO) films and La0.7Ca0.3.nO3.Gd0.7Ca0.3.nO3.(LCMO/GCMO) multilayers have been prepared by pulsed laser deposition. The microstructures of both systems were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The main structure of the films and the multilayers was monoclinic with a unit cell of size 2ap x-2ap. x -2ap, where ap is the lattice constant of single perovskite crystal. The LCMO films were composed of three-dimension multitwinning domains, while the LCMO/GCMO multilayers showed two-domain structure. In LCMO/GCMO multilayers, LCMO layers were coherent with GCMO layers and the interfaces between LCMO and GCMO layers were free from mismatch dislocation, which resulted in highly strained multilayerd structures.

Decentralized optimal tracking control of large-scale nonlinear systems with respect to local performance criteria of subsystems is considered.A decoupled linear Two-Point Boundary Value（TPBV）problem sequence is constructed to approximate the nonlinear coupling large-scale TPBV problem,which is the necessary condition of the nonlinear optimal tracking control *** prove that the constructed linear TPBV problem sequence uniformly converges to the nonlinear TPBV *** iteratively solving this linear TPBV problem sequence,a decentralized linear feedback optimal tracking control law is *** illustrative example shows the validity of the algorithm.

The bulk parameters characterizing the energy of symmetric nuclear matter and the symmetry energy defined at normal nuclear density ρ0 provide important information on the equation of state (EOS) of isospin asymmetric nuclear matter. While significant progress has been made in determining some lower order bulk characteristic parameters, such as the energy E0(ρ0) and incompress ibility K0 of symmetric nuclear matter as well as the symmetry energy Esym(ρ0) and its slope parameter L, yet the higher order bulk characteristic parameters are still poorly known. Here, we analyze the correlations between the lower and higher order bulk char acteristic parameters within the framework of Skyrme Hartree-Fock energy density functional and then estimate the values of some higher order bulk characteristic parameters. In particular, we obtain J0 = (-3.5±95) MeV and I0 = (1473.680) MeV for the third order and fourth-order derivative parameters of symmetric nuclear matter at ρ0 and Ksym = (-100 ± 165) MeV, Jsym = (224 ± 3.5) MeV, Isym = (-13.9 ± 2025) MeV for the curvature parameter, third-order and fourth-order derivative parameters of the symmetry energy at ρ0, using the empirical constraints on E0(ρ0), K0, Esym(ρ0), L, and the isoscalar and isovector nucleon effective masses. Furthermore, our results indicate that the three parameters E0(ρ0), K0, and J0 can reasonably characterize the EOS of symmetric nuclear matter up to 2ρ0 while the symmetry energy up to 2ρ0 can be well described by Esym(ρ0), L, and Ksym.

Reasonable use of mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of regional earthquake activities has attracted more and more attentions in realistic seismicity studies in recent years. The inherent nature of their attendant multi-scale properties, from either the temporal or the spatial direction, necessitates the use of the cutting-edge massive parallel data processing techniques. Our study here is focused on the model construction and numerical simulation of the regional stress evolution after large earthquake sequences along the fault zones in Sichuan and Yunnan areas, using large-scale parallel finite element approximations with tens of millions of unstructured meshes on the distributed systems. The objective of our study is to provide a state-of-the-art model and a large-scale numerical simulation platform, on which estimation of the risk of large earthquake triggering sequences can be carried out in a middle or long-term time scale with realistic data and constrains inputted from field observation and geological survey.
