With the hypothesis that all independent degrees of freedom of basic building blocks should be treated equally on the same footing and correlated by a possible maximal symmetry, we arrive at a 4-dimensional space-time unification model. In this model the basic building blocks are Majorana fermions in the spinor repre- sentation of 14-dimensional quantum space-time with a gauge symmetry GM4D = SO(1,3.×SU(3.)×U(1)A×SU(3.F. The model leads to new physics including mirror particles of the standard model. It enables us to issue some fundamental questions that include: why our living space-time is 4-dimensional, why parity is not con- served in our world, how the stability of proton is, what the origin of CP violation is and what the dark matter can be.

Like Euclid, Riemann and Lobachevski geometries are on an almost equal footing, based on the principle of relativity of maximum symmetry proposed by Professor Lu Qikeng and the postulate on invariant universal constants c and R, the de Sitter/anti-de Sitter (dS/AdS) special relativity on dS/AdS-space with radius R can be set up on an almost equal footing with Einstein’s special relativity on the Minkowski-space in the case of R→∞.Thus the dS-space is coin-like: a law of inertia in Beltrami atlas with Beltrami time simultaneity for the principle of relativity on one side, and the proper-time simultaneity and a Robertson-Walker-like dS-space with entropy and an accelerated expanding S 3.fitting the cosmological principle on another side.If our universe is asymptotic to the Robertson-Walker-like dS-space of R ? (3.Λ)1/2, it should be slightly closed in O(Λ) with entropy bound S ? 3.c 3.k B /ΛG?. Contrarily, via its asymptotic behavior, it can fix on Beltrami inertial frames without ‘an argument in a circle’ and acts as the origin of inertia.There is a triality of conformal extensions of three kinds of special relativity and their null physics on the projective boundary of a 5-d AdS-space, a null cone modulo projective equivalence [ $ \mathcal{N} $ ] ? ? P (AdS 5). Thus there should be a dS-space on the boundary of S 5 × AdS 5 as a vacuum of supergravity.In the light of Einstein’s ‘Galilean regions’, gravity should be based on the localized principle of relativity of full maximum symmetry with a gauge-like dynamics. Thus, this may lead to the theory of gravity of corresponding local symmetry. A simple model of dS-gravity characterized by a dimensionless constant g ?(ΛG?/3. 3.1/2 ～ 10?61 shows the features on umbilical manifolds of local dS-invariance. A mixed method for measuring low-frequency acoustic properties of macro-molecular materials is presented. The dynamic mechanical parameters of materials are first measured by using Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Apparatus(DMTA) at low frequen-cies,usually less than 100 Hz; then based on the Principles of Time-Temperature Super-position (TTS),these parameters are extended to the frequency range that acousticians are concerned about,usually from hundreds to thousands of hertz; finally the extended dynamic mechanical parameters are transformed into acoustic parameters with the help of acoustic measurement and inverse analysis. To test the feasibility and accuracy,we measure a kind of rubber sample in DMTA and acquire the basic acoustic parameters of the sample by using this method. While applying the basic parameters to calculating characteristics of the sample in acoustic pipe,a reasonable agreement of sound absorp-tion coefficients is obtained between the calculations and measurements in the acoustic pipe.

Automatic discovery and composition of Web services is an important research area in Web service technology, in which the specification of Web services is a key issue. This paper presents a Web service capability description framework based on the environment ontology. This framework depicts Web services capability in two aspects： the operable environment and the environment changes resulting from behaviors of the Web service. On the basis of the framework, a requirement-driven Web service composition model has been constructed. This paper brings forward the formalization of Web service interactions with π calculus. And an automatic mechanism converting conceptual capability description to the formal process expression has been built. This kind of formal specification assists in verifying whether the composite Web service model matches the requirement.

The role the quantum entanglement plays in quantum computation speedup has been widely disputed. Some believe that quantum computation's speedup over classical computation is impossible if entan-glement is absent,while others claim that the presence of entanglement is not a necessary condition for some quantum algorithms. This paper discusses this problem systematically. Simulating quantum computation with classical resources is analyzed and entanglement in known algorithms is reviewed. It is concluded that the presence of entanglement is a necessary but not sufficient condition in the pure state or pseudo-pure state quantum computation speedup. The case with the mixed state remains open. Further work on quantum computation will benefit from the presented results.

Over 2 x 10(8) tons of polymers are produced every year, and a large portion of polymers faces the degradation problem. There are many effective methods to protect polymers against degradation and the addition of stabilizers to polymer remains the most convenient and effective way of enhancing polymer life and performance. In this article, a series of effective stabilizers with optimal molecular weight (MW), including common, monomeric and polymeric stabilizers (antioxidant and light stabilizer) were synthesized using isocyanation, controlled isocyanation, hydrosilylation, epoxide addition, macroreaction of stabilizing functional compounds and polymerization of monomeric stabilizers. The structure and performance of these new stabilizers were characterized by using IR, NMR, MS, UV-spectra, XPS and elemental analysis. The current development of stabilizer synthesis was also reviewed.

Strong decays of N~*(153.) in an extended chiral quark model

The strong decays of the N*(153.) resonance are investigated in an extended chiral quark model by including the low-lying $ qqqq\bar q $ components in addition to the qqq component. The results show that these five-quark components in N*(153.) contribute significantly to the N*(153.) → Nπ and N*(153.) → Nη decays. The contributions to the Nη decay come from both the lowest energy and the next-tolowest energy five-quarks components, while the contributions to the Nπ decay come from only the latter one. Taking these contributions into account, the description for the strong decays of N*(153.) is improved, especially for the puzzling large ratio of the decays to Nη and Nπ.

Heparinase from different sources can eliminate heparin or/and heparan sulfate into various low-molecular weight heparins with different characteristics. Porcine intestinal mucosa heparin was de- graded into a series of oligosaccharides by a novel heparinase from the species Sphingobacterium. Disaccha- ride components from the digests were separated and purified by ultrafiltration and HPLC. Five major peaks appeared as three types according to their retention time. The mass spectrometry of peak I mainly gave the non-sulfated disaccharide with the mass of 3.9 Da. Peak II and III were indicated as two major monosulfated disaccharides with molecular mass of 417 and 459 Da respectively. Moreover, the peak III represented an N- acetyl disaccharide. Both peak IV and V showed the same mass of 496 Da, hinting that they were disulfate- substituted disaccharides. No trisulfate-substituted disaccharides were detected in the mixture of the heparin digest though they were abundant in the heparin structure. The results revealed that the heparinase might specifically cut the sites with low sulfated domain in heparin.
