Integrative multi-omics approaches reveal that Asian cultivated rice domestication influences its symbiotic relationship with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi

Robust observer-based control for uncertain discrete-time piecewise affine systems

The main contribution of this paper is to present a novel robust observer-based controller design method for discrete-time piecewise affine systems with norm-bounded uncertainties. The key ideas are to construct a piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function to guarantee the stability of the closed-loop systems, approximate polytopic operating regions by ellipsoids, and use the singular value decomposition technique to treat the constraint of matrix equality. It is shown that the suggested control method can be formulated as linear matrix inequalities that are numerically feasible with commer- cially available software. A numerical example is also given to verify the proposed approach.

The methods for computing the kernel consistency-based diagnoses and the kernel abductive diagnoses are only suited for the situation where part of the fault behavioral modes of the components are known. The characterization of the kernel model-based diagnosis based on the general causal theory is proposed, which can break through the limitation of the above methods when all behavioral modes of each component are known. Using this method, when observation subsets deduced logically are respectively assigned to the empty or the whole observation set, the kernel consistency-based diagnoses and the kernel abductive diagnoses can deal with all situations. The direct relationship between this diagnostic procedure and the prime implicants/implicates is proved, thus linking theoretical result with implementation.

State feedback stabilization of discrete linear switching systems subject to nonsymmetrical state and control bounds

Stabilization problem of discrete-time linear switching systems with bounds on the state and control input is solved in this paper. First, the synthesis of state feedback controllers that ensure the stability of closed-loop switching systems is studied under a sufficient condition. By using the idea of positive invariance, a stabilizing controller design methodology is proposed. Based on these results, the convergence rate problem is also discussed. A state feedback controller that guarantees the optimal convergence rate of closed-loop switching systems is obtained via optimization. Finally, an example made up of two subsystems is studied to show the application of our method.

AERODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS ABOUT MINING DUMP TRUCK AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF HEAD SHAPE

The external flow field around a certain mining dump truck was simulated. The airflow structure and the aerodynamic drag were discussed, and the relationship between airflow characteristics and aerodynamic drag were obtained. In order to solve the problem of head shape of the truck, three scenarios including edge rounding, installing splitter planes and their combination were put forward to improve the head shape through numerical simulation and analysis. The model and method were selected to be three dimensional and time-independent. The Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations were solved using the finite volume method. The RNG k-ε model was chosen for the closure of the turbulent quantities. The results show that the third scenario is the best one, because of its aerodynamic characteristics being better than those of unimproved model.

It is proved that given T1, T2 ε A（, n） and ε > 0, there exists a compact operator K with K <ε such that T1 +Kε （ｕ＋ｋ）（T2）. This result generalizes a result of P. S. Guinand and L. Marcoux [6,15]. Furthermore, the authors give a character of the norm closure of （ｕ＋Ｋ）（T）, and prove that for each T ε A（, n）, there exists a compact （SI） perturbation of T whose norm can be arbitrarily small.

This paper reviews the recent development of nano-multilayers and nanocomposite coatings. The hardening mechanisms and design of hard coating are discussed in details. Recent research on Ti/TiN and nitride/nitride multilayer, Ti-Si-N and Ti-Al-Si-N nanocomposite coatings is described, and the perspectives of the related research are proposed.

Ship-in-bottle formation of Ru_3(CO)_(12) in NaY zeolite

NaY zeolite entrapped Ru3(CO)12 cluster has been synthesized from RuCl3 ion-exchanged NaY, which is well characterized by IR and Raman spectroscopies and CO chemisorp-tion. When the Ru3+/NaY sample is heated from 298 K to 393 K for 25 h and for 10 h at 393 K, the sample colour changes from dark to brown-yellow. The in situ infrared spectrum exhibits absorption bands at 2130, 2064, 2040, 2017, 1990, 1953 and 1925 cm-1. The bands at 2130 cm-1 arises from the Runm+(CO)l m =1-3;n = 1 - 3; l = 1-12). The bands at 2064, 2040, 2017 and 1990 cm-1 are proposed to be associated with the Ru3(CO)12/NaY, which are close to Ru3(CO)12 crystalline. Furthermore, the Raman results provide bands at 150 and 185 cm-1, which can be attributed to Ru-Ru bonds of the sample as in the case of Ru3(CO)12 crystalline, for which the A1' Ru-Ru stretching mode is assigned to 185 cm-1 and E1' Ru-Ru stretching mode is assigned to a band at 150 cm-1, respectively. CO chemisorption of [Ru3]/NaY gives a CO/Ru ratio of 3.85, which is similar to the stoichiometry of Ru3(CO)12.

Effects of different pack aluminizing fillers on the aluminide coatings of Ti-6Al-4V alloy and their high-temperature oxidation behaviors

The aluminide coating process of Ti-6Al-4V alloys with different fillers(100wt.% Al_2O_3,50wt% Y_2O_3+50wt.% Al_2O_3 and 100wt.% Y_2O_3) for improvement of the oxidation resistance were *** results show that the filler does not only participate in the aluminizing process,but also has much effect on the coating *** XRD analysis reveals that the aluminide coating with filler Al_2O_3 is predominant with TiAl_3 and TiAl phases;while the aluminide coatings with filler Y_2O_3+Al_2O_3 are predominant with Ti_3Al *** oxidation kinetics shows that different fillers affect greatly the oxidation resistance of aluminide coating,and the oxidation resistance of aluminized specimens with pack aluminizing filler Al_2O_3 are about 5-8 times than that of the aluminized specimens with other pack aluminizing fillers.
