Let BH,K = {BH,K(t), t ∈ R+} be a bifractional Brownian motion in Rd. This process is a selfsimilar Gaussian process depending on two parameters H and K and it constitutes a natural generalization of fractional Brownian motion (which is obtained for K = 1). The exact Hausdorff measures of the image, graph and the level set of BH,K are investigated. The results extend the corresponding results proved by Talagrand and Xiao for fractional Brownian motion.

A new element tracer technique has firstly been established to estimate the contri-butions of mineral aerosols from both inside and outside beijing. The ratio of Mg/Al in aerosol is a feasible element tracer to distinguish between the sources of inside and outside beijing. Mineral aerosol, inorganic pollution aerosol mainly as sulfate and nitrate, and organic aerosol are the major components of airborne particulates in beijing, of which mineral aerosol accounted for 3.%―67% of total suspended particles （TSP）, 10%―70% of fine particles （PM2.5）, and as high as 74% and 90% of TSP and PM2.5, respectively, in dust storm. The sources from outside beijing contributed 62% （3.%―86%） of the total mineral aerosols in TSP, 69% （52%―90%） in PM10, and 76% （59%―93.） in PM2.5 in spring, and 69% （52%―83.）, 79% （52%―93.）, and 45% （7%―79%） in TSP, PM10, and PM2.5, respectively, in winter, while only20% in summer and autumn. The sources from outside beijing contributed as high as 97% during dust storm and were the dominant source of airborne particulates in beijing. The contributions from outside Bei-jing in spring and winter are higher than those in summer, indicating clearly that it was related to the various meteorological factors.

Based on the plant level data from the First National Census of Basic Units, the Second National Census of Basic Units, and the First National Economic Census of China, this paper ex- amines the geographical agglomeration of Chinese manufacturing industries at a more disaggregated level both by industrial classi-fication and spatial unit analysis. Applying the agglomeration index proposed by Maurel and Sedillot, studies show that the most agglomerated industries are resource-intensive, and capital and technology intensive while industries demanding localized inputs or serving localized markets or favored by local governments are fairly dispersed. The more disaggregated industries are more spa- tially agglomerated. At the finer spatial scale, industries are more dispersed. Results indicate that within-county spillovers are stronger than nearby-county spillovers, and within-prefecture spillovers are stronger than nearby prefecture spillovers. Local- ized spillovers are still quite substantial at a range beyond that of counties. Comparing the agglomeration index of Chinese manu- facturing industries in 1996, 2001 and 2004, agglomeration seems to be a general tendency. Results also indicate that some industries have experienced remarkable changes in their levels of agglom- eration in the period 1996–2004.

We map the dark molecular cloud core of L13. in the C^(18)O (J = 1 - 0)emission line using the PMO 13.7m telescope, and present a contour map of integrated intensity ofC^(18)O (J = 1 - 0) emission. The C^(18)O cloud is inside the distribution of extinction A_B, thevisual extinction of blue light, as well as inside the ^(13.CO cloud in the L13. region. Thedepletion factors in this C^(18)O cloud are generally greater than unity, which means there is gasdepletion onto dust. Since only a minimum A_B - 9.7 mag is available, and our observations measureboth undepleted and depleted regions along the line of sight, the depletion factors could verylikely be larger in the central core than the calculated value. So we conclude that depletion doesoccur in the bulk of the C^(18)O cloud through a comparison between the C^(18)O and blue extinctionmaps in the L13. region. There is no direct evidence as yet for star formation in L13., and so coreson the verge of collapse will not be visible in CO and other gas molecules.

Energy imbalance is a common problem associated with the measurement of surface energy using the eddy covariance *** the evaluation of the energy balance,people usually pay more attention to the statistical result that the effective energy(the sum of sensible and latent heat) is systematically lower than the available energy(the difference of net radiation and ground heat flux).However,little attention has been paid to the existence of the reversed situation when the effective energy is larger than the available energy or their contribution to the overall energy closure *** this paper,based on the analysis of the energy balance on multiple time scales across the maize growth season,we conclude that the non-synchronization of energy components is the main reason for the existence of the reversed *** shifting the phase of the effective energy components half an hour ahead,the rates of energy closure over all time scales are improved and dramatically reduce the number of the half-hourly samples when the energy ratio exceeds 1 or is below *** to the characteristics of the energy distribution and transformation over multiple time scales,latent heat is always the main type of energy cost,and the residual of the energy balance increases with the growth of the maize plant surpassing the sensible heat for seventy *** is suggested that the heat storage and photosynthetic energy play an important role in the energy balance during the growing period of maize.

Based on the AVHRR pathfinder remote sensing data, soil moisture, precipitation and evaporation during the period of 1982—1998, soil moisture of all layers of soil-profile (0—1 m) in the Yellow River basin over the 17 years are calculated by the remote sensing model of calculating soil water. The Yellow River basin is divided into seven subcatchments as control sections at the location of six hydrologic stations (Lanzhou, Toudaoguai, Longmen, Sanmenxia, Huayuankou and Lijin). After calculating soil moisture and obtaining runoff data and precipitation data, the dynamical features of hydrological cycle in the Yellow River basin are analyzed for the period from 1982 to 1988 using water balance method. The conclusions are as follows: It is feasible to calculate the soil water on the macro-scale, in the soil profile with temporal continuity by means of remote sensing and survey in land. Some values of the key water cycle factors in the Yellow River are obtained, which include the annual precipitation of 4000 km3. the evapotranspiration of 3.00-3.00 km3. and the soil moisture transformation of ?500- 500 km3. Consequently, we analyzed the process of the water cycle in the Yellow River over the 17 years, and the results show that the segment upstream of Lanzhou city is a relatively humid region, and the area of internal waters and the reaches of Shanshan is the most desiccated region. Therefore, the runoff in the depth process is intensive and the runoff-generating process is weak in more arid regions.

The reaction mechanism of (CH3.3.O with CO has been theoretically investigated using density-functional theory (DFT) calculations at B3.YP/6-3.G* level. In order to get more reliable energy values the single-point energy is evaluated at CCSD (T)/6-3.++G** level. The results show that the reaction is multi-channel and the reaction of (CH3.3.O radical with CO mostly produces (CH3.3. + CO2. The reaction could play a role in eliminating air pollution.
