We have established an in vivo model for visualizing the developmental and chemotactic movement of primitive macrophages,by generating a stable transgenic line expressing eGFP under the zebrafish lysozyme C promoter [TG(zlyz:eGFP)].We show that the earliest macrophages originate from the head mesenchyme nearby the bilateral plate mesoderm at～22 hpf,then migrate either within the head or toward the yolk sac close to the circulation *** macrophages subsequently colonize the posterior intermediate cell mass(ICM)through ***,the resident macrophages,but not the circulating macrophages,migrate rapidly to the site of inflammation induced by tail transection,with their number peaking at approximately 5-6 hours after *** hours post-injury,these recruited macrophages initiate retrograde migration from the inflamed tail back to the ICM mesenchyme,suggesting a resolution of the ***,an anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid hormone (dexamethasone)suppresses both the chemotactic and retrograde migration of macrophages during the onset and resolution of ***,the TG(zlyz:eGFP)zebrafish provides an invaluable tool not only for elucidating the pleiotropic roles of macrophages in innate immunity,tumorigenesis and organogenesis during embryogenesis,but for identifying the therapeutic small molecules against human disorders associated with deregulated migration and chemotaxis of macrophage in vivo.

A monotone compact implicit finite difference scheme with fourth-order accuracy in space and second-order in time is proposed for solving nonlinear reaction-diffusion equations. An accelerated monotone iterative method for the resulting discrete problem is presented. The sequence of iteration converges monotonically to the unique solution of the discrete problem, and the convergence rate is either quadratic or nearly quadratic, depending on the property of the nonlinear reaction. The numerical results illustrate the high accuracy of the proposed scheme and the rapid convergence rate *** iteration.

In this paper, a non-isotropic Jacobi pseudospectral method is proposed and its appli- cations are considered. Some results on the multi-dimensional Jacobi-Gauss type interpolation and the related Bernstein-Jackson type inequalities are established, which play an important role in pseudospectral method. The pseudospectral method is applied to a twodimensional singular problem and a problem on axisymmetric domain. The convergence of proposed schemes is established. Numerical results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

Biomarkers of neurodegenerative disorders: How good are they?

Biomarkers are very important indicators of normal and abnormal biological processes. Specific changes in pathologies, biochemistries and genetics can give us comprehensive information regarding the nature of any particular disease. A good biomarker should be precise and reliable, distinguishable between normal and interested disease, and differential between different diseases. It is believed that biomarkers have great potential in predicting chances for diseases, aiding in early diagnosis, and setting standards for the development of new remedies to treat diseases. New technologies have enabled scientists to identify biomarkers of several different neurodegenerative diseases. The followings, for instance, are only a few of the many new biomarkers that have been recently identified: the phosphorylated tau protein and aggregated β-amyloid peptide for Alzheimer’s disease (AD), α-synuclein contained Lewy bodies and altered dopamine transporter (DAT) imaging for Parkinson’s disease (PD), SOD mutations for familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and CAG repeats resulted from Huntington’s gene mutations in Huntington’s disease (HD). This article will focus on the most-recent findings of biomarkers belonging to the four mentioned neurodegenerative diseases.

Homotopic mapping solving method for gain fluency of a laser pulse amplifier

The model for gain fluency of a laser pulse amplifier is studied. Using the homotopic mapping method, firstly, the system of the original model is packed up standardization; secondly, introducing a homotopic mapping, taking the property of the mapping, inducing a contrived parameter, the solving of a nonlinear problem translates into the solving of a linear problem. Then the approximate expressions of the solution for the corresponding model are obtained. And the precision for the approximate solution is compared. It illuminates that the obtained approximate solution using the homotopic mapping method possesses higher approximate degree. At one time, the expansion of solution through the homotopic mapping method can be kept in the analytic operation. Thus it also enables us through differential and integral operations to obtain other physics behavior for the gain fluency of laser pulse amplifier.

Cyclin-dependent kinase 7(Cdk7)is the catalytic subunit of the metazoan Cdk-activating kinase(CAK).Activationof Cdk7 requires its association with a regulatory subunit,Cyclin *** the Cdk7/Cyclin H complex has beenimplicated in the regulation of RNA polymerase in several species,the precise function of their orthologs in zebrafish hasnot been fully *** this study,we isolated from zebrafish blastula embryos two cDNAs encoding the orthologsof human Cyclin H and Cdk7,and examined the role of Cdk7/Cvclin H in zebrafish *** analysisshowed that the zebrafish Cyclin H and Cdk7 cDNAs encode proteins with 65% and 86% identity to the respective hu-man ***-PCR and whole-mount in situ hybridization analyses of their expression in unfertilized eggs,embryosand organs of adult fish suggested that Cyclin H and Cdk7 messages are maternally *** data also showed thattheir transcripts were detected throughout *** of Cyclin H transcripts was found to be ubiquitousduring early stages of development and become restricted to the anterior neural tube,brain,eyes,procreate tissues,liverand heart by 5 days *** of a dominant-negative form of Cyclin H delayed the onset of zygotictranscription in the early embryo,resulting in apoptosis at 5 hours post-fertilization and leading to sever defects in tis-sues normally exhibiting high levels of Cyclin H *** results implicate Cyclin H in the regulation of thetranscriptional machinery during midblastula transition and suggest that it is an essential gene in early zebrafish larvaldevelopment.

A time delay equation for sea-air oscillator model is studied. The aim is to create an asymtotic solving method of nonlinear equation for the eNSO model. And based on a class of oscillators of eNSO model, employing the variational iteration method, the approximate solution of corresponding problem is obtained. It is proven from the results that the method of variational iteration method can be used for analyzing the sea surface temperature anomaly in the equatorial eastern Pacific of the atmosphere-ocean oscillation for eNSO model.
