CM elliptic curves and p-adic valuations of their L-series at s=1

For rational integers γ and λ, consider two families of elliptic curves y2 = x3 - D1γx and y2 = x3 - 2433D2λ over fields (?) ( (-1)~1/2) and (?) ((- 3)1/2) respectively. General formulae expressed by Weierstrass (?)-functions are given for special values of Hecke L-series attached to such elliptic curves. The uniform lower bounds of 2-adic and 3-adic valuations of these values of Hecke L-series as well as global criteria for reaching these bounds are obtained. Moreover, when γ = 2 and λ = 2, 4, further results of 2-adic and 3-adic valuations are obtained for the corresponding curves in more general case of D1 and some restricted D2 respectively. These results are consistent with the predictions of the conjecture of Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer, and greatly develop and generalize some results in recent literature for more special cases.

Torsion theories of pseudo-regular S -systems

The concept of pseudo-regular S-system is introduced. A torsion theory τu = ( Us, Us) with its torsion class Us consisting of pseudo-regular S-systems is constructed. Its corresponding quasi-filter is completely described. A number of results on the relations between τu and two special torsion theories, the stable and Lambek torsion theories, are obtained.

A MESSAGE-DRIVING FORMALISM FOR MODELING AND SIMULATION OF MULTI-AGENT SUPPLY CHAIN SYSTEMS

To acquire a competitive advantage in the expanding market, manufacturing enterprises should be able to manage their supply chains as effectively as possible. It is now becoming popular to model supply chains as multi-agent systems and use discrete event simulation to learn more about their behaviors or investigate the implications of alternative configurations. In order to enhance the computational efficiency and keep the simulation credibility, this paper proposes a message-driving formalism for the simulation of multi-agent supply chain systems. Through the message-driving formalism, the problem of shared variables is addressed and the parallel operation of agents is implemented. Simulation experiments with a prototype implementation show that the message-driving formalism is able to provide credible results in significantly less simulation time.

Explicit Classification for Torsion Subgroups of Rational Points of Elliptic Curves

We study the classification of elliptic curves E over the rationals Q according to the torsion subgroups E_(tors)(Q). More precisely, we classify those elliptic curves with E_(tors)(Q) being cyclic with even orders. We also give explicit formulas for generators of E_(tors)(Q). These results, together with the recent results of K. Ono for the non-cyclic E_(tors)(Q), completely solve the problem of the explicit classification and parameterization when E has a rational point of order 2.

On States of Total Weighted Occupation Times for Superdiffusions

Suppose X is a superdiffusion in R^d with general branching mechanism ￠. and Y_(D) denotes the total weighted occupation time of X in a bounded smooth domain D. We discuss the conditions on ψ to guarantee that Y_(D) has absolutey continuous states. And for particular ψ(z) = z^(l+, 02 + 2/B. it is singular. As we know the absolute continuity and singularity of Y_(D have not been discussed before.

Dark output characteristic of γ-ray irradiated CMOS digital image sensors

The quality of dark output images from the CMOS (complementarymetal oxide semiconductor) black and white (B & W) digital imagesensors captured before and after γ-ray irradiation was studied. Thecharacteristic parameters of the dark output images captured atdifferent radiation dose, e.g. average brightness and itsnon-uniformity of dark out- put images, were analyzed by our testsoftware. The primary explanation for the change of the parameterswith the radi- ation dose was given.

HIGH ACCURACY NUMERICAL METHOD OF THIN-FILM PROBLEMS IN MICROMAGNETICS

In this paper, a new high accuracy numerical method for the thin-film problems of micron and submicron size ferromagnetic elements is proposed. For the computation of stray field, we use the finite element method(FEM) by introducing a semi-discrete artificial boundary condition [1, 2]. In our numerical experiments about the domain patterns and their movement, we can see that the results are accordant to that of experiments and other numerical methods. Our method are very convenient to deal with arbitrary shape of thin films such as a polygon with high accuracy.
