Global-local combined features to detect pain intensity from facial expression images with attention mechanism

The estimation of pain intensity is critical for medical diagnosis and treatment of *** the development of image monitoring technology and artificial intelligence,automatic pain assessment based on facial expression and behavioral analysis shows a potential value in clinical *** paper reports a framework of convolutional neural network with global and local attention mechanism(GLA-CNN)for the effective detection of pain intensity at four-level thresholds using facial expression ***-CNN includes two modules,namely global attention network(GANet)and local attention network(LANet).LANet is responsible for extracting representative local patch features of faces,while GANet extracts whole facial features to compensate for the ignored correlative features between *** the end,the global correlational and local subtle features are fused for the final estimation of pain *** under the UNBC-McMaster Shoulder Pain database demonstrate that GLA-CNN outperforms other state-of-the-art ***,a visualization analysis is conducted to present the feature map of GLA-CNN,intuitively showing that it can extract not only local pain features but also global correlative facial *** study demonstrates that pain assessment based on facial expression is a non-invasive and feasible method,and can be employed as an auxiliary pain assessment tool in clinical practice.

Triboelectric materials with high charge density are the building-block for the commercial application of triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs).Unstable dynamic processes influence the change of the charge density on the surface and inside of triboelectric *** charge density of triboelectric materials depends on the surface and the internal charge transfer *** focus of this review is on recent advances in high charge density triboelectric materials and advances in the fabrication of *** summarize the existing strategies for achieving high charge density in triboelectric materials as well as their fundamental *** then review current optimization methods for regulating dynamic charge transfer processes to increase the output charge density:first,increasing charge injection and limiting charge dissipation to achieve a high average surface charge density,and second,regulating the internal charge transfer process and storing charge in triboelectric materials to increase the output charge ***,we present the challenges and prospects in developing high-performance triboelectric materials.

Fast measurement and prediction method for electromagnetic susceptibility of receiver

Aiming at evaluating and predicting rapidly and accurately a high sensitivity receiver’s adaptability in complex electromagnetic environments,a novel testing and prediction method based on dual-channel multi-frequency is proposed to improve the traditional two-tone ***,two signal generators are used to generate signals at the radio frequency(RF)by frequency scanning,and then a rapid measurement at the intermediate frequency(IF)output port is carried out to obtain a huge amount of sample data for the subsequent ***,the IF output response data are modeled and analyzed to construct the linear and nonlinear response constraint equations in the frequency domain and prediction models in the power domain,which provide the theoretical criteria for interpreting and predicting electromagnetic susceptibility(EMS)of the *** experiment performed on a radar receiver confirms the reliability of the method proposed in this *** shows that the interference of each harmonic frequency and each order to the receiver can be identified and predicted with the sensitivity *** on this,fast and comprehensive evaluation and prediction of the receiver’s EMS in complex environment can be efficiently realized.

Integrated separation-electrochemical detection device based on wood column for online identification of enantiomer

Chiral chemicals have attracted significant interest in the pharmaceutical industry,yet the separation methods to get pure enantiomers from racemic mixture are still *** date,the separation of enantiomers still mainly depends on chromatography using high-cost chiral stationary ***,wood channels were used as the handheld integrated device,and enantiomer separation was simultaneously detected using an electrochemical *** this method,a chiral UIO-66(L-UIO-66)modified enantiomer separation zone and carbonized wood based online detection zone are integrated along a single wood *** on the in situ separation results from the chronoamperometry data,the wood device shows excellent separation ability for a wide range of electrochemically active enantiomers,including 3.4-dihydroxyphenylalanine,amino acids,ascorbic acid,carnitine,and penicillamine with high chirality *** unbiased molecular dynamic simulations indicate that the excellent chiral recognition and separation are attributed to the different barriers from the bound states to the dissociated state of the enantiomers in the homochiral microenvironment of the *** integrated enantiomer separation-electrochemical detection device provides a novel,easy,and low-cost platform for the separation of pure enantiomer from racemic mixture.

Discriminative low-rank embedding with manifold constraint for image feature extraction and classification

The robustness against noise, outliers, and corruption is a crucial issue in image feature extraction. To address this concern, this paper proposes a discriminative low-rank embedding image feature extraction algorithm. Firstly, to enhance the discriminative power of the extracted features, a discriminative term is introduced using label information, obtaining global discriminative information and learning an optimal projection matrix for data dimensionality reduction. Secondly, manifold constraints are incorporated, unifying low-rank embedding and manifold constraints into a single framework to capture the geometric structure of local manifolds while considering both local and global information. Finally, test samples are projected into a lower-dimensional space for classification. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves classification accuracies of 95.62%, 95.22%, 86.3.%, and 86.54% on the ORL, CMUPIE, AR, and COIL20 datasets, respectively, outperforming dimensionality reduction-based image feature extraction algorithms.

The electronic structure and magnetic properties of Fe-doped SiC nanotubes are investigated by using the first-principles method based on density functional theory(DFT) in the local spin density approximation(LSDA).The calculation results indicate that the SiC nanotube of Fe substitution for C exhibits antiferromagnetism while ferromagnetism features prominently when Fe substitutes *** is a kind of half-metal magnetic *** formation energy calculation results show that the formation energy of ferromagnetic structure is 3.2 eV lower than that of antiferromagnetic *** atoms are more likely to replace Si ***-orbit coupling induces electron spin polarization in the ground ***,the doping Fe atoms make relaxation towards the outside of the tube to some extent and larger geometric distortion occurs when Fe substitutes C,but the whole geometric structure of SiC nanotubes is not damaged due to the *** is revealed in the calculation of energy band structure and density of states that more dispersed distribution of energy levels is produced near the Fermi *** Fe substitution for Si,obviously there are spin-split and intense p-d hybrid effects by Si 3. electron spins and Fe 3. electron spins localized at the exchanging interactions between magnetic transitional metal(TM) *** electronic density results indicate that system magnetic moments are mainly generated by the unpaired 3. electrons of Fe *** these results show that the transition metal doping SiC nanotube could be a potential route to fabricating the promising magnetic materials.

Under the general trend of the rapid development of smart grids,data security and privacy are facing serious challenges;protecting the privacy data of single users under the premise of obtaining user-aggregated data has attracted widespread *** this study,we propose an encryption scheme on the basis of differential privacy for the problem of user privacy leakage when aggregating data from multiple smart ***,we use an improved homomorphic encryption method to realize the encryption aggregation of users’***,we propose a double-blind noise addition protocol to generate distributed noise through interaction between users and a cloud platform to prevent semi-honest participants from stealing data by colluding with one ***,the simulation results show that the proposed scheme can encrypt the transmission of multi-intelligent meter data under the premise of satisfying the differential privacy *** if an attacker has enough background knowledge,the security of the electricity information of one another can be ensured.

A color image encryption scheme based on a 2D coupled chaotic system and diagonal scrambling algorithm

A novel color image encryption scheme is developed to enhance the security of encryption without increasing the complexity. Firstly, the plain color image is decomposed into three grayscale plain images, which are converted into the frequency domain coefficient matrices(FDCM) with discrete cosine transform(DCT) operation. After that, a twodimensional(2D) coupled chaotic system is developed and used to generate one group of embedded matrices and another group of encryption matrices, respectively. The embedded matrices are integrated with the FDCM to fulfill the frequency domain encryption, and then the inverse DCT processing is implemented to recover the spatial domain signal. Eventually,under the function of the encryption matrices and the proposed diagonal scrambling algorithm, the final color ciphertext is obtained. The experimental results show that the proposed method can not only ensure efficient encryption but also satisfy various sizes of image encryption. Besides, it has better performance than other similar techniques in statistical feature analysis, such as key space, key sensitivity, anti-differential attack, information entropy, noise attack, etc.
