baotou City is an industrial city developed in the farming-grazing transitional zone in northern china. The development of industry, farming and grazing is very fast. It has become a typical intergrated economic region of industry, farming and grazing. Based on the analysis of utilization of land resources, this paper points out the main conflicts and problems on the utilization of land resources in the city, and puts forward a corresponding proposal.

BACKGROUND: Previous studies reported that frontal-temporal-parietal-occipital pathological changes and diseased range in the right cerebral hemisphere were closely correlated with neglect. But studies on the correlation of neglect with diseased region and area in patients who suffer from initial attack of single focus of cerebral infarction (CI) in left and right cerebral hemispheres are few. OBJECTIVE: To observe the status of neglect in patients who suffer from single focus of CI in cerebral hemisphere, and analyze the correlation of neglect with diseased region and area of CI. DESIGN: Case analysis. SETTING: Treatment Center for Cardiocerebrovascular Disease, Second Hospital of Xiamen city; Department of Neurology, First Hospital Affiliated to baotou medical College. PARTICIPANTS: All the CI patients hospitalized in the Department of Neurology, First Hospital Affiliated to baotou medical College from June 1998 to May 2.01 were retrieved. Inclusive criteria: ① Patients who suffered from initial attack of CI, which was confirmed by skull CT or MRI within 2. hours after onset and presented single focus in cerebral hemisphere. ② be conscious and could cooperate in the examination. ③ did not receive formal education, but could do accounts and some simple writing and reading. ④Patients with homonymous hemianopia were excluded through the examination of perimeter. ⑤ Informed consents were obtained from all the patients. Among 67 patients who met the inclusive criteria, 33 suffered from CI in the left cerebral hemisphere and 34 in the right cerebral hemisphere. METHODS: ① Patients received neglect supplement examination and chinese aphasia examination within 2.5 to 3 months after the attack of CI . Antifertility Effects of Orally Administration of Low Dose Gossypol Acetic Acid Combined with Methyltestosterone Plus Ethinyl Estradiol on Male Rat

Objective To investigate the feasibility and optimal regimen of orally administration of low dose gossypol acetic acid （GA） combined with methyltestosterone （MT） plus ethinyl estradiol （EE） for contraception in males.Methods Wistar male rats were randomly assigned into four groups, 2. in each group. Animals in group A or B were administered daily with 1% methyl cellulose or GA （12.mg/kg） suspended in 1% methyl cellulose, respectively. Rats in group C or D took firstly GA 12.mg/kg＋MT 2. mg/kg＋EE 0.1 mg/kg or MT 2. mg/kg＋EE 0.1 mg/kg, in asuspension with 1% methyl cellulose, via gastric intubation. After the infertilities were initiated（6 weeks for group C, 8 weeks for group D）, GA was served alone while MT＋EE were withdrawn in rats of groups C and D. The treatment was ceased after 18 weeks and some males from group C were permitted to recover. Fertility testing, 10 males per group, was served for determining infertility or restoration of fertility in treated rats. Examinations of histology and biochemistry in treated rats were used to examine the morphologic influences on sperm, testis, epididymides and viscera, and biochemical changes in blood. The growth and development of F1 generation of the rats would also be tested in a series of behavioral tests.Results Ten rats from group C were infertile at week 6 after treatment, and the fulfilled infertility was maintained with low-dose GA （12.mg/kg） only daily. Six weeks after cessation of treatment, all of treated males recovered their fertility. However, 8 of 10 rats from group D were in sterility at 6th week of treatment and all at 8th week of treatment, but the infertility could not be kept with the similar dose GA alone later on. Moreover, no adverse effects were found in our present experiments.Conclusion Administration of oral low dose GA combined with MT and EE as loading dose could successfully induce infertility in short term, whereafter the efficacy could completely be maintained by similar low dose of

Salvia L.(family Lamiaceae),a large genus of over 1000 species,is widely distributed throughout tropical and temperate regions of the ***-four species are native to ***,there are many taxonomic uncertainties at the sub-generic *** are a class of secondary metabolites with a large variety of structures that have been used as chemotaxonomic markers at infra-and suprageneric *** the sake of further chemotaxonomic understanding of Salvia,the present study investigated the distribution of tanshinones,a group of biologically active diterpenes known to be present in some chinese members of the *** high-pressure liquid chromatography with a diode array detector,tanshinones in various Salvia species were determined and the distribution supported the circumscription of *** in the original sense of ***,the distribution of tanshinones provides a valuable chemotaxonomic tool for determining infrageneric differences within Salvia.

The plants in genus Gentianella Moench (Gentianaceae) which comprised approximately 2.0 species, are mainly distributed in temperate regions of the world. Many Gentianella plants are intensely bitter and employed in traditional medicine to stimulate appetite, treat disorders of the gallbladder, and treat fever like the other bitter gentians in various regions of the world. Some species exhibit other remarkable therapeutic effects in the treatments of obesity, diabetes, and heart diseases. Eleven iridoids, twenty-eight xanthones, three C-glucoflavonoids, and eight other compounds have been isolated from the genus. Most of these compounds are associated with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, hypoglycemic, and antitumor activities, which provide an empirical base for the traditional utilization of the plants in genus Gentinella Moench.

Objective To determine whether co-administration of mixed steriod hormones can enhance the restoration of spermatogenesis damaged by gossypol acetic acid （GA）. Methods Adult male Wistar rats were treated daily for 8 weeks with GA at 50mg/kg plus testosterone undercanoate （100 mg/kg）/desogestrel （0.12. mg/kg）/mini-dose ethinylestradiol （0.02. mg/kg）（TU/DSG/EE）, followed by a period of 9 weeks for recovery. Control animals were administered the same dose of GA or TU/DSG/EE, and vehicle, respectively. Testis weight, testicular sperm head count and histological analysis were utilized to assess the spermatogenesis. Results At the end of the 9-week reovery period, in rats given GA alone, spermato- genesis steadily declined. However, when rats received combined hormone adminis- tration during GA treatment, this decline was prevented and an complete recovery of spermagenesis occurred. The haploid spermatids and spermatocytes was not to be protected but to be more aggravatedly damaged. The excellent recovery must have resulted from that the hormone treatment could protect the ability of stem spermatogonia to differentialte and evolve progressively into mature spermatozoa. In addition, the concentrations of serum LH, FSH and intratesticular testosteron （ITT） notably decreased after 2.or 8 weeks of treatment, then returned to control levels at the end of 9-week recovery *** Steriod hormone treatment enhaces the recovery of spermatogenesis through preventing seminiferous epithelim from GA-induced destructive damage in rats. The enhanced recovery was closely associated with the marked suppression in intratesticular testosteron （ITT）.

Objective To observe the effect of accessory pathway (AP) conduction on PJ interval in patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. Methods 12. patients with a single manifestation of AP who underwent successful radiofrequency ablation (RFCA) were included. Patients were divided into 10 groups according to AP location. The PR intervals, QRS durations and the PJ intervals were measured using simultaneous 12.lead ECG before and after ablation. The PJ intervals before ablation were compared with that after ablation. The atrioventricular (AV) conduction time via atrioventricular node-His conduction system before ablation were compared with the PR intervals after ablation. The ventricular depolarization time via atrioventricular node-His conduction system before ablation were compared with the QRS durations after ablation. Delta waves were compared between each two groups. Results (1) The PJ intervals of right posterior (RP) group and right posteroseptal (RPS) group before ablation were shorter than that after ablation (RP group 2.6±18 ms vs 2.6±19 ms, P2.1±18 ms vs 2.8±31 ms, P2. There were no significant differences between the atrioventricular (AV) conduction time via atrioventricular node-His conduction system before ablation and the PR intervals after ablation. (3)The ventricular depolarization time via atrioventricular node-His conduction system of RP group and RPS group before ablation were shorter than the PR intervals after ablation(RP group 79±12.ms vs 87±9 ms, P=0.01; RPS group 70±13 ms vs 86±9 ms, P<0.05, respectively). (4)The delta waves of RP group and RPS group were longer than that of left posterior group and left posteroseptal group(P<0.05). Conclusion PJ interval is shortened by AP conduction which pre-excites the general last excited part of left ventricle. It is determined by AP location and the extent of preexcitation.

Objective To make the identification of medicinal herbs in Salvia *** and *** In this work,DNA barcoding and chemical fingerprint were compared for the identification of herbs in Salvia ***,the nucleotide sequences of the internal transcribed spacer region two amplified from 48 medicinal plants in Salvia L.,and three other groups of medicinal plants in Lamiaceae were sequenced.A molecular phylogeny was constructed using the minimum evolution and maximum parsimony methods according to their sequence ***,the water-solution bioactive components and lipid soluble components were tested by *** a chemical phylogeny was built using HPLC fingerprint *** the molecular and chemical phylogenetic trees revealed many *** DNA barcoding was sequencing based and could therefore provide more accurate results within a shorter time especially in large-scale *** The results show that ITS2.region is a novel DNA barcode for the authentication of the species in Salvia *** is the first work to show the relationship between DNA barcoding and chemical components.
