The papr has reported a new species of Valsa came from the twigs andbranches of Cryptomeria fortunei Hooibrenk ex Otto et *** was named as Valsa forunea Zhao,Sheng et *** *** it is in the perfect stage and Cytospora fortunea Zhao,Sheng et *** the imperfect *** new species has been described both in Latin and in Chinese,aswell as the differences between the new species and other *** type specimen of the newspecies is deposited in the plant pathology Herbarium of southwest forestry co.lege,{3.(HSFC 15206 Type).

It was widely recognized that rural development especially rural development in the poor areas is closely related with environment issue. It is also common bias that farmers in the poor areas lack of environmental awareness, and their production activities directly cause the environment degradation. The study has shown that with appropriate outside facilitation. a poor rural community can not only analyze its environmental problem, but can also make feasible planning to recover the problem.

Fine particles of zinc-cerium oxides （Zco） used as an ultraviolet filter were prepared via combustion synthesis route. The catalytic activity, UV-shielding performance, surface modification and application of Zco in polyester varnish were discussed in detail. The experimental results indicate that the photo-catalytic activity of Zco is much smaller than these of ZnO and TiO2; the oxidation catalytic activity of Zco is far lower than that of CeO2; the Zco has shown excellent ultraviolet absorption in the range of UV; addition modified Zco （MZco） into polyester will enhance the UV-shielding capability of polyester.

According to the characteristics of water and erosion environments of different natural zones on the Loess Plateau, this paper studies changes of vegetation types, distribution boundaries of forest and grass as well as restoration capacity of vegetation in different natural zones in the middle Yellow River. The annual precipitation of 53. mm is the critical annual pre-cipitation for forest and grass distribution in the middle Yellow River. Among the zonal and azonal environmental factors affecting watershed sediment yield, the intermediate diameter D50 (mm) of suspended load and forest coverage (V, %) play the leading role. Of them the effect weight of forest coverage (V, %) on catchments sediment yield is only 3.4% less than the role of the intermediate diameter (D50, mm), they are almost the same. To effectively control soil erosion in semiarid, especially in hilly-gullied areas and make sediment transport modulus reduce to less than 6000 t/km2, it is rather difficult by merely relying on natural restoration of forest. In the process of cultivated land conversion into forest land and grassland, measures suiting local conditions should be adopted in tree species selection and artificial afforestation (grass planting) based on management with biological measures for slopeland and engineering measures for hilly-gullied areas, so that watershed forest coverage in key counties can reach at least over 3.%.compared with the standard period of precipitation prior to the 1960s, with the decrease of an-nual precipitation at various periods, plant productivities decline to different degrees under natural conditions. The main reason accountable for the low survival rate of new seedlings and grass over years is due to precipitation decrease. In light with regression models of annual pre-cipitation and natural vegetation productivities, it is possible to obtain estimated values of wa-tershed natural vegetation productivity and eco-water consumption needed for the restoration to

Spatial Information Research for Temperature and Precipitation Climate Data in Hengduan Mountains

[Objective] The aim was to study the spatial information of temperature and precipitation data in Hengduan mountains. [Method] considering GIS spatial interpolation and numerical statistics theory, spatial prediction were carried out to the ten years average temperature and precipitation flux observation data in 109 sparse meteorological stations in Hengduan Mountains. Based on the spatial range of geographic position of Hengduan Mountains, and 1∶1 000 000 scale DEM as data sources, and using trend surface simulation and residual ordinary Kriging interpolation correction method, the spatial continuous surface for annual average temperature and precipitation were studied. [Result] It was scientific and reasonable to use certain unevenly distributed sparse climate observation station value, and by dint of trend simulation and residue interpolation method to get climate consecutive spatial result. This method can not only accurate the temperature and precipitation spatial distributions to grid point, but also can reflect macro and micro geography factors and topographic influence factor of variation. Furthermore, it can be predicted error term trend surface reasonable spatial distribution. Simulation results were basically in accordance with the objective law, and can be used for the region climate data spatial informatization simulation. [conclusion] The study provided scientific spatial basic data for the further study of ecological and vegetation in Hengduan Mountains.

As a renewable energy,biofuel has attracted great attention in china and the rest of *** with the national food security,china recently has shifted its biofuel development priority from grain-based to non-grain-based biofuels,including forest-based biodiesel,since *** curcas is one of major biodiesel ***,there is rising debate on availability of land for expanding Jatropha curcas *** overall goal of this paper is to evaluate potential land for Jatropha curcas used as feedstock for biodiesel in *** on remote sensing data on land use,data on meteorological,soil and land slope,and suitable environment for Jatropha curcas plantation,this study uses Agro Ecological Zone method and considers social-economic constraints to evaluate potential suitable land for Jatropha curcas plantation in china's major Jatropha curcas production region,{3. *** results show that while there are some potential lands to expand Jatropha curcas areas,amount of these lands will hardly meet the government's target for Jatropha curcas-based biodiesels development in the *** may need to reconsider its long-term targets on the development of Jatropha curcas-based biodiesels.
