Modeling hydrological consequences of 21st-Century climate and land use/land cover changes in a mid-high latitude watershed

The Naoli River Basin(NRB),a pivotal agricultural production area in china,is poised to undergo substantial impacts on water resources due to projected climate and land use/cover(LULC)*** its significance in the context of china’s expanding farmland construction in the NRB,there exists limited research on the potential repercussions of future shifts in runoff,soil water content(SWC),and evapotranspiration(ET)on crop productivity and water availability(both in terms of quantity and timing).This study employs future LULC maps and an ensemble of ten CMIP6 Global Climate Models(GCMs)across three scenarios to drive the well-calibrated distributed hydrological model,*** objective of present study is aimed on projecting hydrological consequences under climate and land use/land cover changes in near-term(2026–2050),middle-term(2051–2075),and far-term(2076–2100)future in comparison to the baseline period of 1990–*** consistently indicate an increase trend in annual average ET,runoff,and SWC in the NRB across all three future periods under the three SSP *** changes emerge as the primary driver influencing regional hydrological processes in the near ***,under high-emission scenarios,monthly runoff and SWC are projected to significantly increase in March but decrease in April during the middle and far future periods compared to the *** shift is attributed to the anticipated warming of winter and spring,leading to a transition in peak snowmelt from April to ***,the expansion of cropland intensifies crop evapotranspiration demand,potentially exacerbating water stress during the early stages of crop growth in *** findings underscore the importance of addressing the substantial impacts of climate change and land use planning on regional water cycling *** planning to mitigate water shortages during the initial stage of future crop growth is crucial for ensuring food security and managing wat

Existence of the Uniformly Minimum Risk Unbiased Estimator in Seemingly Unrelated Regression System

For a seemingly Unrelated regression system with the assumption of normality,a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of the Uniformly Minimum Risk Unbiased (UMRU)estimator of regression coefficients under strictly convex loss is obtained;it is proved that any unbiased estimator can not improve the least squares estimator;it is also shown that no UMRU estimator exists under missing observations.

Tomographic reconstruction of the Earth’s magnetosheath from multiple spacecraft:a theoretical study

Following our earlier work on tomographic reconstruction of the magnetosheath soft X-ray emissions with superposed epoch analysis of many images recorded from a single spacecraft we now explore the instantaneous reconstruction of the magnetosheath and magnetopause using a few images recorded simultaneously from a few *** work is motivated by the prospect of possibly having two or three soft X-ray imagers in space in the coming years,and that many phenomena which occur at the magnetopause boundary,such as reconnection events and pressure pulse responses,do not lend themselves as well to superposed epoch *** the reconstruction is successful-which we demonstrate in this paper that it can be-this collection of imagers can be used to reconstruct the magnetosheath and magnetopause from a single image from each spacecraft,allowing for high time resolution *** this paper we explore the reconstruction using,two,three,and four *** show that the location of the subsolar point of the magnetopause can be determined with just two satellites,and that volume emissions of soft X-rays,and the shape of the boundary,can be reconstructed using three or more satellites.

Contradiction between ultrafast nucleation and deposition rates of lithium(Li)crystals at high rate and heterogeneity of Li^(+)flux resulting from concentration polarization has compromised the performance of Li metal anodes especially at high areal capacity and current ***,multifunctional protective layer consisting of MoO_(3. nanobelt films(MoO_(3.-NF)is introduced on the surface of Li by a simple rolling *** strong binding energy between Li and MoO_(3. guides the homogeneous nucleation and deposition of Li,while the nanobelt networks provide effective ion channels for uniform distribution of the Li+*** of the novel multifunctional protective layer,the MoO_(3.-NF@Li anodes demonstrate a remarkable stability for 800 h with ultralow overpotential of 159 mV at extreme harsh conditions of 60 mA·h/cm^(2) and 60 mA/cm^(2).MoO_(3.-NF@Li||LiNi_(0.6)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.2)O_(2) full-cells can run 100 cycles with a superior capacity retention of 84.2%under practical test conditions,demonstrating great potential for high output and energy-density metal batteries.

We develop improved approximation algorithms for two NP-hard problems: the dense-n/2-subgraph and table *** on SDP relaxation and advanced rounding techniques,we first propose 0. 5982 and 0. 5970-approximation algorithms respec- tively for the dense-n/2-subgraph problem (DSP) and the table compression problem (TCP). Then we improve these bounds to 0. 6243.and 0. 6708 respectively for DSP and TCP by adding triangle inequalities to strengthen the SDP *** results for TCP beat the 0. 5 bound of a simple greedy algorithm on this problem,and hence answer an open question of Anderson in an affirmative way.

Leafhopper salivary carboxylesterase suppresses JA-Ile synthesis to facilitate initial arbovirus transmission in rice phloem

Plant jasmonoyl-L-isoleucine(JA-Ile)is a major defense signal against insect feeding,but whether or how insect salivary effectors suppress JA-Ile synthesis and thus facilitate viral transmission in the plant phloem remains *** carboxylesterases(CarEs)are the third major family of detoxification ***,we identify a new leafhopper CarE,CarE10,that is specifically expressed in salivary glands and is secreted into the rice phloem as a saliva *** CarE10 directly binds to rice jasmonate resistant 1(JAR1)and promotes its degradation by the proteasome ***,the direct association of CarE10 with JAR1 clearly impairs JAR1 enzyme activity for conversion of JA to JA-Ile in an in vitro JAIle synthesis system.A devastating rice reovirus activates and promotes the co-secretion of virions and CarE10 via virus-induced vesicles into the saliva-storing salivary cavities of the leafhopper vector and ultimately into the rice phloem to establish initial ***,a virus-mediated increase in CarE10 secretion or overexpression of CarE10 in transgenic rice plants causes reduced levels of JAR1 and thus suppresses JA-Ile synthesis,promoting host attractiveness to insect vectors and facilitating initial viral *** findings provide insight into how the insect salivary protein CarE10 suppresses host JA-Ile synthesis to promote initial virus transmission in the rice phloem.

Zero-valent iron(ZVI)is a promising material for the remediation of Cd-contaminated paddy ***,the effects of ZVI added during flooding or drainage processes on cadmium(Cd)retention remain ***,Cd-contaminated paddy soil was incubated for 40days of flooding and then for 15 days of drainage,and the underlying mechanisms of Cd immobilization coupled with Fe/S/N redox processes were *** addition of ZVI to the flooding process was more conducive to Cd *** potential available Cd was detected by adding ZVI before flooding,which may be due to the increase in paddy soil pH and newly formed secondary Fe ***,the reductive dissolution of Fe minerals promoted the release of soil colloids,thereby increasing significantly the surface sites and causing Cd ***,the addition of ZVI before flooding played a vital role in Cd retention after soil *** contrast,the addition of ZVI in the drainage phase was not conducive to Cd retention,which might be due to the rapid decrease in soil pH that inhibited Cd adsorption and further immobilization on soil *** findings of this study demonstrated that Cd availability in paddy soil was largely reduced by adding ZVI during the flooding period and provide a novel insight into the mechanisms of ZVI remediation in Cd-contaminated paddy soils.

Bursting of Morris-Lecar neuronal model with current-feedback control

The Morris-Lecar (ML) neuronal model with current-feedback control is considered as a typical fast-slow dynamical system to study the combined influences of the reversal potential VCa of Ca2+ and the feedback current I on the generation and transition of different bursting oscillations. Two-parameter bifurcation analysis of the fast subsystem is performed in the parameter (I, VCa)-plane at first. Three important codimension-2 bifurcation points and some codimension-1 bifurcation curves are obtained which enable one to determine the parameter regions for different types of bursting. Next, we further divide the control parameter (V0, VCa)-plane into five different bursting regions, namely, the "fold/fold" bursting region R1, the "fold/Hopf" bursting region R2, the "fold/homoclinic" bursting region R3. the "subHopf/homoclinic" bursting region R4 and the "subHopf/subHopf" bursting region R5, as well as a silence region R6. Codimension-1 and -2 bifurcations are responsible for explanation of transition mechanisms between different types of bursting. The results are instructive for further understanding the dynamical behavior and mechanisms of complex firing activities and information processing in biological nervous systems.
