Experimental studies on the two solid solutions franckeite s.s. and cylindrite s.s. yielded among others thePb-free endmembers of franckeite and cylindrite respectively. In these endmembers the lead content of the twomineral phases are completely substituted by bivalent tin. A third phase, ottemannite s.s. with （Fe. Sb）-bearingcompositions, was further identified in the Pb-free 4-component system Fe-Sn-Sb-S. Pb-free franckeite andcylindrite could only be synthesized as homogeneous phases at high temperatures. The ottemannite s.s. was ob-tained at 600℃ but an extensive existing range was also confirmed at temperatures below 500℃. The phase relations were discussed in the pseudoternary subsystem SnS-SnS2-FeSb2S4. The following se-quence of Pb-free phases and phase assemblages were observed under increasing Sn4+content at 600℃:herzenhergite （SnS）+franckeite, franckeite, franckeite+cylindrite, cylindrite, cylindrite+（Fe, Sb）-ottemannite.（Fe, Sb）-ottemannite. （Fe. Sb）-ottemannite+berndtite （SnS2）. The assemblage cylindrite+berndtite was identi-fied in synthetic systems involving Pb. The phase Fe. Sb-ottemannite s.s. appears to be stable only under Pb-de-ficient and high sulfur fugacity conditions.

A mixed method for measuring low-frequency acoustic properties of macro-molecular materials is presented. The dynamic mechanical parameters of materials are first measured by using Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Apparatus(DMTA) at low frequen-cies,usually less than 100 Hz; then based on the Principles of Time-Temperature Super-position (TTS),these parameters are extended to the frequency range that acousticians are concerned about,usually from hundreds to thousands of hertz; finally the extended dynamic mechanical parameters are transformed into acoustic parameters with the help of acoustic measurement and inverse analysis. To test the feasibility and accuracy,we measure a kind of rubber sample in DMTA and acquire the basic acoustic parameters of the sample by using this method. While applying the basic parameters to calculating characteristics of the sample in acoustic pipe,a reasonable agreement of sound absorp-tion coefficients is obtained between the calculations and measurements in the acoustic pipe.

A simple one-dimensional 2 x 2 hyperbolic system is considered in the *** model contains a linear hyperbolic equation, as well as a hyperbolic equation ofwhich the coefficients are about the solution of the linear one. The exact solution ispresented and discussed, then numerical experiments are given by TVD (or MmB)type schemes for Riemann problems. From the results, we know that the solutionsdo have δ-waves for some suitable initial data.

He is now Research Professor at the Institute of Mineral Deposits Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and has long been engaged in geology metallogenesis and regional metallogeny of metallic ore deposits with emphases on cooper deposits and volcanic and sedex metallic deposits.

Four metallogenic epochs occurred in different tectonic environments during theevolution of the Northern Qilian metallogenic province through the geological time. The Mid-dle Proterozoic metallogenic epoch witnessed the tectonic environment of crustal breakupcaused by mantle diapirism, in which ultramafic-mafic rocks were intruded along beep faultbelts and the superlarge Jinchuan magmatic Cu-Ni sulphide deposit was formed. In theMiddle-Late Proterozoic metallogenic epoch the crust was further broken to form anintracontinental rift, in which the Chenjiamiao style massive Cu-Fe sulphide deposits hosted bybasic volcanic tuff were formed in the lower volcano-sedimentary sequence, while the largesedex type Jingtieshan style Fe-Cu deposits were formed within the upper abyssal carbon-richargillaceous sedimentary sequence. The Early Palaeozoic saw the aulacogen environment, with-in which the Baiyinchang style superlarge massive base and precious metal sulphide depositshosted by quartz keratophyric tuff were formed in the Middle-Late Cambrian rifted island arcand the massive Cu-Zn sulphide deposits and magmatic chromite deposits associated with theophiolite suite were formed in the Early-Middle Ordovician, and the Honggou style massiveCu-Fe sulphide deposits hosted by spilite were formed in the Late Ordovician back-arc basinenvironment. In the Late Palaeozoic-Meso-Cenozoic, the metallogenic province went into anintracontinental orogenic stage characterized by compressive tectonic environment, in whichthere occurred carbonate-quartz vein type and tectono-alteration gold deposits associated withductile-shear structures.

In this paper, we consider solving dense linear equations on Dawning1000 byusing matrix partitioning technique. Based on this partitioning of matrix, we give aparallel block LU decomposition method. The efficiency of solving linear equationsby different ways is analysed. The numerical results are given on *** running our parallel program, the best speed up on 3. processors is over 25.

There is much debate on biological affinities of the phosphatized globular fossils from the Neoproterozoic Doushantuo phosphorites at Weng’an, Guizhou Province. Here we report for the first time the budding structures of some of these globular fossils, which have previously been interpreted as the resting eggs and early cleavage embryos of metazoans. The budding structures are similar to the germinating tubes of the spore and zygote of living algae, suggesting that some globular fossils from the Doushantuo phosphorites bear affinity with algae. The present new information indicated various biological affinity of the phosphatized globular fossils from the Doushantuo phosphorites.

Air pollution history of sulphur and heavy metals since 1800 in Chengde City , north china,was studied by analyzing the concentrations of sulphur and heavy metals in growth rings of Pinus tabulaeformis Carr. The regional distribution in different depositional facies belts is here regarded as an important criterion for defining and recognizing the various orders of sequences. The third-order sequence is possibly global in nature, which may be discerned in different depositional facies belts in one continental margin and can be correlated over long distances, sometimes even worldwide. Commonly, correlation of subsequence (fourth-order sequence with time interval of 0.51.5 Ma) is difficult in different facies belts, although some of them may also be worldwide in distribution. A subsequence should be able to discern and correlate within at least one facies belt. The higher-order sequences, including microsequence (fifth-order sequence) and minisequence (sixth-order sequence), are regional or local in distribution. They may reflect the longer and shorter Milankovitch cycles respectively. Sequence and subsequence are usually recognizable in different facies belts, while microsequence and minisequence may be distinguished only in shallow marine deposits, but not in slope and basin facies deposits. A brief discussion is made on the essential conditions for correct identification of sequences, useful methods of study, and problems meriting special attention in outcrop sequence stratigraphy.
