Based on the study of existing fair exchange protocols, this paper sets up an accurate formal model by stepwise refinement. In the process of refinement an unreliable channel is employed to simulate an attack behavior. The model provides a novel formal definition of exchanged items, and presents the formal goals for fairness, accountability, etc., reflecting the inherent requirements for fair exchange protocols across-the-board. In order to check, prove, and design fair exchange protocols effectively and efficiently, the model puts forward a novel property of abuse-freeness which applies to all fair exchange protocols, gives a formal definition for trust strand of the third party, and presents general criteria of designing a secure and effective fair exchange protocol. Taking a typical fair exchange protocol as an example, this paper presents the analysis steps of fair exchange protocols appealing to our model. An unknown attack is uncovered. The analysis reveals the process of a complete attack, discovering deeper reasons for causing an attack. Finally, we modify the flawed protocol and the revised protocol ensures the desirable properties.

Po ly(ethylene terephthalate)-polycaprolactone block copolymer (PCL-b-PET) is a polyester with improved biodegradability. In the present paper, a new direct copolymerization method of epsilon-caprolactone (epsilon-CL) and bishydroxyethylene terephthalate (BHET) in the presence of Ti(OBu)(4) was proposed for the synthesis of PCL-b-PET. The PCL-b-PET copolymer was characterized by IR, GPC and H-1-NMR techniques, and the effects of synthesis conditions, such as temperature, reaction time and concentration of catalyst on the copolymerization were discussed.

Two sedimentary sections were measured at Tai Co(Co means lake in Tibetan) in western Tibet,*** two sections are almost all composed of clay carbonate beds except in their lower parts where there are carbonized plants at>10 cm depths and dark-colored carbonate clay and clay at 50-70 cm depths,yielding abundant gastropods,ostracods,and *** carbon and oxygen stable isotope values of carbonate,ostracods,and charophytes and ecological features of microfossil communities indicate the following climatic change in the area from 41.4 to 4.5 ka BP:at 41.4-26.2 ka BP,the climate was relatively wet;at 26.2-25.5 ka BP,it was slightly warm-dry;at 25.5-22.5 ka BP,it was warm-wet;at 22.5-21.0 ka BP,it was slightly cold-wet;at 20.5-17.5 ka BP,it became cold abruptly and slightly wet,implying the climate of the last glacial maximum;at 17.5-16.0 ka BP,it was slightly cold-dry;at 16.0-11.8 ka BP,it was slightly warm-wet;at 11.8-10.4 ka BP,it was relatively cold-dry, roughly equivalent to the climate of the Younger Dryas,and at 10.4 ka BP,the temperatures began to rise again;at 10.4-9.4 ka BP,it was slightly warm-wet;at 9.4-8.5 ka BP,there occurred short warm-wet oscillations;at 8.5-7.9 ka BP,it was slightly dry-cold,representing a strong temperature-lowering and drying event in the postglacial stage;at 7.8-6.3.ka BP,it was slightly warm-wet;at 6.3.4.5 ka BP,the climate tended to be cold-dry.4.5 ka BP recorded the maximum aridity since the late part of the late Pleistocene.

The concepts and calculation methods of ionospheric eclipse factor (IEF) and ionospheric influence factor (IFF) are further illustrated. The temporal and spacial variation properties of IEF and IFF are studied, which shows that the properties are influenced by the geographic position and season. The possibility of improving the precision of using GPS data to determine ionospheric delay based on the above variation properties is also analysed.

In this paper, a least-squares mixed finite element method for the solution of the primal saddle-point problem is developed. It is proved that the approximate problem is consistent ellipticity in the conforming finite element spaces with only the discrete BB-condition needed for a smaller auxiliary problem. Interdecadal and interannual timescales are dominant in the North china rainfall in rainy season (July and August). On the interdecadal timescale, the North china rainfall exhibited an abrupt decrease at the end of 1970s. In this study, we examined the effect of this abrupt rainfall decrease on the association between rainfall and circulation on the interannual timescale, and found that the interdecadal variation does not change the physical mechanism responsible for the interannual variation of North china rainfall. There is a linear relationship between the interdecadal and interannual variabilities of North china rainfall in rainy season.

There is vast land in Xizang (Tibet), but the land suitable for agriculture is less and concentrated. There is a large quantity of land suitable for animal husbandry, but great differentiation in quality. The land suitable for forestry is in large quantity and high quality. The land in high, cold and dry region is very difficult for use. An of these chacteristics determine the Pedctive structure and scale and the distribution of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry in Xizang. At present, the exploitation level of land resources in Xizang is low, the commodity production is backward and some of the land is in degradation. The exploitstion should be combined with the conservation of several kinds of land resources. Per unit pleduction of land staid be enhanced, the improvement of the grassland and the construction of artificial grassland should be carried out. They are the strategy and effective countermeasures for the improcement of economy, production conditions and the eco-environment in Xizang.

The Global Invasive Species Database, GISD, comprises 27 species of the most significant invasive alien insects in the world (through November, 2005), 6 of which are originally native to china, 11 are established in china, and 10 have a potential invasion threat to china. This paper discusses these species in terms of distribution, harmfulness and dispersal ways, and finds that: (i) Information re-garding invasive insects in the GISD remains inadequate. Such harmful invasive species as Opogona sacchari (Bojer), Oracella acuta (Lobdell), and Dendroctonus valens LeConte are not included. (ii) Ten species of invasive insects, particularly Lasius neglectus Van Loon and Linepithema humile (Mayr) which become established in areas near china, have the potential to become established in china. (iii) Special attention should be paid to species from Asia and the Americas because of their greater likeli-hood of becoming established in china. Finally, some management strategies including legislation, quarantine, early warning, prevention and control are suggested.
