Xenotime is an ideal mineral for U-Th-Pb isotopic dating because of its relatively high U and Th contents,but typically low concentration of common *** characteristics,and the fact that it is widespread throughout various types of rocks,suggest that the U-Th-Pb dating of xenotime has broad *** of U-Pb dating on xenotime by ion microprobe(such as SHPJMP) have increased in recent years,whereas studies by laser ablation(LA)-ICP-MS are still *** this study,we developed a technique for U-Pb dating of xenotime using the 193.nm ArF laser-ablation system and Agilent 7500a *** evaluate the reliability of our method,a xenotime standard,BS-1,was analyzed and calibrated against another xenotime standard,*** weighted mean Pb/U ages of 510.1±5.2 Ma(2a,n = 21),509.8±4.3.Ma(2 a,n = 21) and 510.0±4.6 Ma(2a,n = 21) were obtained using beam diameters of 16,24 and 3.μm,*** ages are identical to those determined by ID-TTMS method(weighted mean Pb/U age of 508.8±1.4 Ma),which supports the reliability of our LA-ICP-MS *** also analyzed xenotimes in leucogranites from South Tibet and granites from Xihuashan in southern china,and obtained accurate and precise ***,we observed systematic differences in Pb/U fractionation among xenotime,monazite and *** matrix-effect resulted in either under-correction or over-correction of fractionation,and thus led to inaccurate ***,a matrix -matched material is required for U-Pb dating of xenotime by LA-ICP-MS.

An integrated approach to evaluation on ecological service functions for urban green space and its application

This methodological investigation deals with measurement and valuation of ecological service functions for urban green space. Social, economic and ecological dimensions for such types of function were analyzed and a concept “integrated ecological service functions” (IESF) was put forward for evaluation. Based upon this conceptual approach, an index system for measuring IESF for urban green space was established. With a methodological integration of fuzzy mathematics, decision making analysis and Delphi method, an AHP fuzzy evaluation techniques for IESF for urban green space, called AFIFUG method, was developed. Such a method has been directly applied to the land use strategic planning of Tianjin out ring green belt(TOGB), and its analysis results have been successfully put into operation.

Variations in carbon isotope ratios of C_3.plants and distribution of C_4 plants along an altitudinal transect on the eastern slope of Mount Gongga

Variations in carbon isotopic ratios (δ 13.) of C3.plants and distribution of C4 plants were investigated along an altitudinal transect on the eastern slope of Mount Gongga, and the environmental effects on them were discussed. It is shown that plants with C4 photosynthetic pathway mainly occur at altitudes below 2100 m a.s.l., suggesting that the low summer temperature is responsible for the distributional pattern. In addition, δ 13. of C3.plants increases with elevation at the region above 2000 m a.s.l. with the characteristics of humid climate, and the increase rate in δ 13. for C3.plants is about 1.3. per kilometer. Temperature determines the altitudinal trend of δ 13..

The Dabie Orogen as the early Jurassic sedimentary provenance: Constraints from the detrital zircon SHRIMP U-Pb dating

The SHRIMP U-Pb ages of detrital zircon from the oldest Mesozoic strata, the Fanghushan Fomation, in the Hefei Basin range from 200 Ma to ca. 2500 Ma, which indicates that the Dabie Orogen as the early Jurassic sedimentary provenance was complex. The composition of the Dabie Orogen includes: the Triassic high pressure-ultrahigh pressure metamorphic rocks, of which the detrital zircon ages are from 23. Ma to 200 Ma; the rocks possibly related to the Qinling and Erlangping Groups representing the southern margin of the Sino-Korean craton in the Qinling and Dabie area, of which the detrital zircon has an age of 481-3.8 Ma; the Neoproterozoic rocks originated from the Yangtze croton, of which the detrital zircon ages are 799-721 Ma old; and the rocks with the detrital zircon ages of ca. 2000 Ma and ca. 2500 Ma, which could be the old basement of the Yangtze craton.

Indirect Indicators of Gas Hydrate Occurrence within Submarine Sediments

Gas hydrate, a new kind energy resources discoverd over the past ten years, has aroused much attention from many countries around the globe, because the gas hydrate has played a very important role in energy resources exploration, submarine geohazards precaution, and changes in global climate. So far, gas hydrates have been found in about sixty places on continental margins and polar regions in the world, but the majority of them is recognized by all kinds of indirect indicators owing to their limited existence conditions, only minority of them is collected. Thereby, the indirect marks of gas hydrates play an important role in exploration of the clathrate compounds, and the authors discuss them.

Towards Sustainable Urban Environmental Management in Jiangyin city, East china

Dramatic economic and social changes have taken place in Jiangyin city due to rapid and uneven urbanization and industrialization. The environmental degradation has followed driven by these changes since the 1980's. With the pressures and effects of environmental deterioration, the city has implemented environmental management to hold back the trends of negative environmental changes. From the viewpoint of systems, DPSER is a good model for urban environmental changes to understand the causes, pressure, state, effect, existing responses and future action strategies. We took Jiangyin city, a developed city in South Jiangsu province, East china, as an example, and analyzed the characteristics of environmental changes and urban responses using DPSER model. Some operational strategies have been put forward to direct the city environmental management towards a sustainable road step by step.

Artificial intelligence has been used to obtain background factors (basic environmental factors) from landslide specialists. A 3. visible evaluation map may be charted by fuzzy evaluation, and the traditional plane map may be decoded into a 3. map by using factor weight from specialists system and technology of RS and GIS for quantitative sampling of these factors.
