The visual attention mechanism in the brain was studied among16young subjects through the precue-target visual search paradigm using the event-related potentials(ERPs)technique,with the attentive ranges cued with different scales of chinese *** results showed that the response time was shortened as the cue scale was reduced,while the amplitudes of the P1and N1components of the ERPs *** results not only provided the electrophysiological evidence supporting the spotlight theory,but also indicated that the spotlight effect occurred during the early period of the selected *** kinds of separation in the P2.ffect were *** separation was between the P1effect and P2.ffect,which meant that additional computation was needed when the spatial scale of attention was enlarged;the other was between the left and right hemisphere of the P2.ffect,which indicates that the at-tentive processing of the cue range mainly occurred in the left hemisphere.

The nitrogen isotope of soil is of emerging significance as an indicator of climatic change and biogeochemical cycle of nitrogen in nature systems. In this paper, the nitrogen content and isotopic composition of modern ecosystems from arid and semiarid Loess Plateau in northwestern china, including plant roots and surface soil, were determined to investigate trends in δ15N variation of plant roots and soil along a precipitation and temperature gradient in northwestern china under the East Asian Monsoon climate condition. The δ15N values of surface soil from the study area vary from ?1.2. to 5.8‰, but from -5.1‰ to 1.9‰ in the plant roots. Our results indicate that (1) although the isotopic compositions of both plant roots and surface soil change with a similar trend along the climate gradient, the apparent nitrogen difference between plant roots and soil existed, with -δ15N values ranging from 0.{2. to 7.2. with average of 4.1‰; and (2. mean annual precipitation (MAP) is the dominant factor for isotopic composition of plant-soil nitrogen in the Loess Plateau, and the δ15N values are less correlated with MAT; we suggest that nitrogen isotopic composition of soil is a potential tracer for environmental changes.

This paper studies the effect of fissure water pressure in different fractures on the critical angle of landslide by laboratory investigation and numerical simulation in order to understand the mechanisms of fissure water pressure on landslide stability. Laboratory observations show that the effect of fissure water pressure on the critical angle of landslide is little when the distance between water-holding fracture and slope toe is three times greater than the depth of fissure water. These experimental results are also simulated by a three-dimensional face-to-face contact discrete element method. This method has included the fissure water pressure and can accurately calculate the critical angle of jointed slope when fissure water pressure in vertical sliding surface exists. Numerical results are in good agreement with experimental observations. It is revealed that the location of water-holding structural surface is important to landslide stability. The ratio of the distance between water-holding fissure and slope toe to the depth of fissure water is a key parameter to justify the effect of fissure water pressure on the critical angle of landslide.

This work aims to obtain a wide area differential method for geostationary orbit (GEO) constellation. A comparison between the dilution of precision (DOP) of four-dimensional (4D) calculation including sa- tellite clock errors and ephemeris errors and that of three-dimensional (3.) calculation only including ephemeris errors with the inverse positioning theory of GPS shows the conclusion that all the 3. PDOPs are greatly reduced. Based on this, a basic idea of correcting satellite clock errors and ephem- eris errors apart is put forward, and moreover, a specific method of separation is proposed. Satellite clock errors are separated in a master station with time synchronization, and all the remaining pseu- do-range errors after the satellite clock errors have been deducted are used to work out ephemeris corrections of all GEO satellites. By a comparative analysis of user positioning accuracy before and after differential, the wide area differential method is verified to be quite valid for GEO constellation.

chinese Area Positioning System (CAPS) is a transmitted satellite navigation system moved by the chinese {2. of {3.. Three basic modes of navigation and positioning with CAPS are given, and then a comparative analysis is made in this paper. In terms of the principle that the ionospheric delay is at an inverse ratio to the frequency square, a new ionospheric-free positioning method based on a double-antenna CAPS receiver is put forward. Then the hybrid differential observations and the solving equations and algorithms for one epoch and multi epochs are deduced according to the basic principle of the method. The method may remove the global errors in signal emission, propagation, transmission and receiving (e.g., ionospheric delay, hardware delay, and clock error). So it is very convenient for the single-epoch solution and multi-epoch navigation and positioning, and may efficiently improve the precision of real time CAPS navigation. Furthermore, the method can be used not only for the geometric orbit determination of CAPS GEO and IGSO satellites and the navigation and positioning, but also for the estimation of the tropospheric zenith delay, which is useful for the study of water vapor changes in the atmosphere. Polynomials are used in this method to express the tropospheric zenith delay and CAPS satellite orbits within the limited time interval, which reduces the num- ber of unknown parameters and thus speeds the computation.

The coating process of a nano-scale SiO2.film on the nanocrystalline Mg-Al layered double hydroxides via a sol-gel process was investigated. The uniform and dense SiO2.ilm with a thickness of about 5 nm on the nano-LDHs particles was characterized by the solubility test in the dilute HNO3.or HCl acid, TEM and FT-IR, XRD, TG and DSC. The chemical shifts of binding en- ergies of Al 2., Mg 2., Si 2. and O 1s on the coated particles indicate that the coating of the SiO2.nano-film on the surface of the nano-LDHs proceeds through the formation of Mg-O-Si and Al-O-Si bonds. The thermal analysis shows that both the SiO2.coated nano-LDHs and the nano-LDHs have a similar mass loss process, in which there are three obvious stages of mass loss in the temperature range of 40—700℃. Furthermore, the more the coatedamount of SiO2.n the surface of the nano-LDHs is, the less the mass loss of the samples is at 700℃.The nano- LDHs have two obvious endothermic peaks at 2.4.67℃ and 43..13., whose corresponding heat absorption capacities are 412.2. J/g and 3.6.3. J/g, respectively. In contrast, the coated nano-LDHs have only one endothermic peak at 2.3.60℃ with a heat absorption capacity of 2.1.2. J/g.

Angel-related element belongs to the family of miniature inverted-repeat transposable elements (MITEs). In this paper we report the identification of an Angel- related element in the series Leuciscini of cyprinid fishes, which is located in the second intron of the growth hormone (GH) gene. We have also found that this element is absent in orthologous locus in the series Barbini of cyprinid fishes, that provides new evidence for the monophyly of the series Leuciscini. The insertion of Angel -related element into the GH gene might take place in the common ancestor of the series Leuciscini after its divergence from the series Barbini. The high sequence divergence and relatively broad species distribution of Angel-related elements implies that they might be ancient transposons which appeared about 2. million years ago.

We explore the relationship between black hole mass (MBH) and the motion of the jet components for a sample of blazars. The Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) 2.cm Survey and its continuation: Monitoring of Jets in active galactic nuclei (AGNs) with VLBA Experiments (MOJAVE) have observed 2.8 radio-loud AGNs, of which 146 blazars have reliable measurements of their apparent velocities of the jet components. We calculate the minimal Lorentz factors for these sources from their measured apparent velocities, and their black hole masses are estimated with their broad-line widths. A sig- nificant intrinsic correlation is found between black hole masses and the minimal Lorentz factors of the jet components. The Eddington ratio is only weakly correlated with the min- imal Lorentz factor, which may imply that the Blandford-Znajek (BZ) mechanism may dominate over the Blandford-Payne (BP) mechanism for the jet acceleration (at least) in blazars.

SAR raw data signal to noise ratio (SNR) after compression is of great importance since the choice of compression ratio is dependent on it during SAR system design and application analysis. The signal to quantization noise ratio (SQNR) generally used may not precisely indicate the relationship between signal and noise. Considering the thermal noise, a statistical model of quantization interval transfer probability is proposed in this paper. SNR mapping between SAR raw data before analog to digital converter (ADC) and after block adaptive quantization (BAQ) over the whole set of saturation degree is obtained using this model. When the power of echo is small with low SNR, after 1, 2. 3.or 4 bits BAQ compression, SNR has tiny difference among the four compression levels. When the power of the echo is medium with higher SNR, the SNR degradation after BAQ is about 5 dB with each bit decreasing from 4 bits. If voltage of the echo is higher than the clipping point of ADC, SNR after ADC and BAQ degrades stepwise. The higher the saturation degree of SAR raw data, the worse the SNR is. Simulated Gaussian data and real SAR raw data are used to verify the theoretical results, which are useful in the choice of BAQ compression ratio and further application analysis.
