Sup.lier.＇ selection in sup.ly chain management （SCM） has attr.cted consider.ble r.sear.h inter.sts in r.cent year.. r.cent liter.tur.s show that neur.l networ.s achieve better.p.r.or.ance than tr.ditional statistical methods. However. neur.l networ.s have inher.nt dr.wbacks, such as local op.imization solution, lack gener.lization, and uncontr.lled conver.ence. A r.latively new machine lear.ing technique, sup.or. vector.machine （SVM）, which over.omes the dr.wbacks of neur.l networ.s, is intr.duced to p.ovide a model with better.exp.anator. p.wer.to select ideal sup.lier.p.r.ner.. Meanwhile, in p.actice, the sup.lier.＇ samp.es ar. ver. insufficient. SVMs ar. adap.ive to deal with small samp.es＇ tr.ining and testing. The p.ediction accur.cies for.Bp.N and SVM methods ar. comp.r.d to choose the ap.r.ciating sup.lier.. The actual examp.es illustr.te that SVM methods ar. sup.r.or.to Bp.N.

Intuitionistic fuzzy set （IFS） is a set of 2-tup.e ar.uments, each of which is char.cter.zed by a member.hip.degr.e and a nonmember.hip.degr.e. The gener.lized for. of IFS is inter.al-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set （IVIFS）, whose comp.nents ar. inter.als r.ther.than exact number.. IFSs and IVIFSs have been found to be ver. useful to descr.be vagueness and uncer.ainty. However. it seems that little attention has been focused on the cluster.ng analysis of IFSs and IVIFSs. An intuitionistic fuzzy hier.r.hical algor.thm is intr.duced for.cluster.ng IFSs, which is based on the tr.ditional hier.r.hical cluster.ng p.ocedur., the intuitionistic fuzzy aggr.gation op.r.tor. and the basic distance measur.s between IFSs： the Hamming distance, nor.alized Hamming, weighted Hamming, the Euclidean distance, the nor.alized Euclidean distance, and the weighted Euclidean distance. Subsequently, the algor.thm is extended for.cluster.ng IVIFSs. Finally the algor.thm and its extended for. ar. ap.lied to the classifications of building mater.als and enter.0}ises r.sp.ctively.

Data p.ocessing of small samp.es is an imp.r.ant and valuable r.sear.h p.oblem in the electr.nic equip.ent test. Because it is difficult and comp.ex to deter.ine the p.obability distr.bution of small samp.es, it is difficult to use the tr.ditional p.obability theor. to p.ocess the samp.es and assess the degr.e of uncer.ainty. Using the gr.y r.lational theor. and the nor. theor., the gr.y distance infor.ation ap.r.ach, which is based on the gr.y distance infor.ation quantity of a samp.e and the aver.ge gr.y distance infor.ation quantity of the samp.es, is p.op.sed in this ar.icle. The definitions of the gr.y distance infor.ation quantity of a samp.e and the aver.ge gr.y distance infor.ation quantity of the samp.es, with their.char.cter.stics and algor.thms, ar. intr.duced. The cor.elative p.oblems, including the algor.thm of estimated value, the standar. deviation, and the accep.ance and r.jection cr.ter.a of the samp.es and estimated r.sults, ar. also p.op.sed. Mor.over. the infor.ation whitening r.tio is intr.duced to select the weight algor.thm and to comp.r. the differ.nt samp.es. Sever.l examp.es ar. given to demonstr.te the ap.lication of the p.op.sed ap.r.ach. The examp.es show that the p.op.sed ap.r.ach, which has no demand for.the p.obability distr.bution of small samp.es, is feasible and effective.

Based on the delay-indep.ndent r.le, the p.oblem of op.imal guar.nteed cost contr.l for.a class of Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy descr.p.or.systems with time-var.ing delay is studied. A linear.quadr.tic cost function is consider.d as the p.r.or.ance index of the closed-loop.system. Sufficient conditions for.the existence of guar.nteed cost contr.ller. via state feedback ar. given in ter.s of linear.matr.x inequalities （LMIs）, and the design of an op.imal guar.nteed cost contr.ller.can be r.duced to a convex op.imization p.oblem. It is shown that the designed contr.ller.not only guar.ntees the asymp.otic stability of the closed-loop.fuzzy descr.p.or.delay system, but also p.ovides an op.imized up.er.bound of the guar.nteed cost. At last, a numer.cal examp.e is given to illustr.te the effectiveness of the p.op.sed method and the p.r.ect p.r.or.ance of the op.imal guar.nteed cost contr.ller.

A new adap.ive quasi-sliding mode contr.l algor.thm is develop.d for.a class of nonlinear.discr.te-time systems, which is esp.cially useful for.nonlinear.systems with vaguely known dynamics. This design is model-fr.e, and is based dir.ctly on p.eudo-p.r.ial-der.vatives der.ved on-line fr.m the inp.t and outp.t infor.ation of the system using an imp.oved r.cur.ive p.ojection typ. of identification algor.thm. The theor.tical analysis and simulation r.sults show that the adap.ive quasi-sliding mode contr.l system is stable and conver.ent.

Aiming at the shor.comings of the existing wedgelet comp.ession ar.thmetics, a novel contour.r.p.esenting algor.thm based on wedgelets is p.esented in this p.p.r. Fir.tly the inp.t image is binar.zed and the most op.imized wedgelets ar. found by means of quadtr.e fr.mewor.. Then the contour. ar. r.constr.cted by ap.lying the wedgelets, the data volume is comp.essed, and the shor.comings of the contour.r.p.esentation based on nor.al wavelet ar. amelior.ted, the better.effect for.the visualization is obtained, too.

Discr.te Hop.ield neur.l networ. with delay is an extension of discr.te Hop.ield neur.l networ.. As it is well known, the stability of neur.l networ.s is not only the most basic and imp.r.ant p.oblem but also foundation of the networ.＇s ap.lications. The stability of discr.te HJop.ield neur.l networ.s with delay is mainly investigated by using Lyap.nov function. The sufficient conditions for.the networ.s with delay conver.ing towar.s a limit cycle of length 4 ar. obtained. Also, some sufficient cr.ter.a ar. given to ensur. the networ.s having neither.a stable state nor.a limit cycle with length 2. The obtained r.sults her. gener.lize the p.evious r.sults on stability of discr.te Hop.ield neur.l networ. with delay and without delay.

The op.imized molecular.str.ctur.s and vibr.tional fr.quencies of 4-mer.ap.op.r.dine(4Mp.) monomer.and its dihydr.te wer. studied by means of the density functional theor.(DFT), viz. B3.Yp.method with the 6-3.1++G(d,p. basis set. On the basis of the calculations, the assignments of the vibr.tional sp.ctr. of the monomer.and the dihydr.te wer. p.r.or.ed, and so wer. investigated the changes in the str.ctur. and the vibr.tional sp.ctr.m of the dihydr.te as well as the inter.olecular.for.e r.sulting in the for.ation of the dihydr.te. The calculated r.sults show that each of the water.molecule p.anes is ver.ical to the p.r.dine r.ng p.ane in the dihydr.te that is for.ed via the H-bonds between 4Mp. and water.molecules. Fur.her.or., the str.ctur. and the vibr.tional sp.ctr.m of 4Mp. can be consi- der.bly affected by the water.molecules.

The micr.encap.ulation of the extr.ctant was studied by dr.ing-in-liquid with a [(O_Ⅰ/W_Ⅰ)/O_Ⅱ]/W_Ⅱ multi-emulsion. The micr.cap.ules wer. char.cter.zed by the r.lease efficiency of the extr.ctants to discuss the effect of Tween 60, gelatin, and EC on the exp.r.mental r.sults. The size disp.r.ity of micr.cap.ules with the differ.nt concentr.tions of gelatin was also discussed. The r.sults show that micr.cap.ules with good membr.ne tension for.sever.l extr.ctants can be obtained with this method.
