Independent of Indochina extrusion, the South china Sea experienced a process from passive continental rifting to marginal sea drifting. According to the fault patterns in the Beibu Gulf basin and the Pearl River Mouth basin, the continental rifting and early spreading stage from 3. to 26 Ma were controlled by extensional stress field, which shifted clockwise from southeastward to south southeastward. From 24.Ma on, the sea spread in NW-SE direction and ceased spreading at around 15.5 Ma. Integrated geological information with the assumption that the South china Sea developed along a pre-Cenozoic weakness zone, we did analogue experiments on the South china Sea evolu- tion. Experiments revealed that the pre-existing weakness zone goes roughly along the uplift zone between the present Zhu-1 and Zhu-2 depression. The pre-existing weakness zone is composed of three segments trending NNE, roughly EW and NEE, respectively. The early opening of the South china Sea is accompanied with roughly 15° clockwise rotation, while the SE sub-sea basin opened with SE extension. Tinjar fault was the western boundary of the Nansha block (Dangerous Ground), while Lupar fault was the eastern boundary of the Indochina, NW-trending rift belt known as Zengmu basin developed between above two faults due to block divergent of Indochina from Nansha. In the experiment, transtensional flower structures along NW-trending faults are seen, and slight inversion occurs along some NE-dipping faults. The existence of rigid massifs changed the orientations of some faults and rift belt, and also led to deformation concentrate around the massifs. The rifting and drifting of the South china Sea might be caused by slab pull from the proto South china Sea subducting toward Borneo and/or mantle flow caused by India-Asia collision.

Tectonic Development of the Proterozoic Continental Margins in East Qinling and Adjacent Regions

The East Qinling and adjacent cratonic regions belong to two geotectonic units, the Sinokorean Subdomain including the Sinokorean Platform and its southern continental margin the North Qinling Belt, and the Yangtzean Subdomain comprising the Yangtze Platform and its northern continental margin the South Qinling Belt .The Qinling region may thus be subdivided into two continental margin belts separated from each other by the Proterozoic Qinling marine realm , which did not disappear until Late Triassic . The convergent crustal consumption zone ,the megasuture between the two belts ,lies between the Fengxian Shangnan line in the north and the Shanyang Xijia line in the south and was much deformed and displaced through Mesozoic intracratonic collision and compression.In the northern subdomain the Lower Proterozoic is represented by protoaulacogen volcano-sediments , the inner Tiedonggou Group and the outer marginal Qinling Group , which were folded and metamorphosed in the Luliangian orogeny ,a general process of aggregation and stabilization of the Early Proterozoic mobile belts between and around the Archaean nuclei. Genuine aulacogen occurred in the Middle Proterozoic and was represented by the Xionger rift volcanics . The Middle and Upper Proterozoic comprise the inner Guandaokou shelf sediments and the outer extensional' back- arc' Kuanping Group behind the Qinling island chain . Oceanic subduction from the south of the Qinling arc representing the Jinningian orogeny caused the folding of the Mid dle and Upper Proterozoic and emplacement of island arc-continent collision type of granite . After the Jinningian orogeny Late Sinian glacigene deposits formed the platform cover and the Erlangping back arc basin began to develop on the northern slope of the Qinling arc .In South Qinling the Lower Proterozoic Tongbe Group was probably an original marginal part of the Yangtze Platform . Based on the data of high-resolution seismic profiles, an ancient river channel sys-tem of the last glaciation occurred along the Zhedong and Xihu depression in the southeast of Hupijiao rise. The distribution of the channel fill system shows that the ancient Changjiang River went through the Changjiang depression into the low land plain of the outside continental shelf during the low sea level cycle of the last glaciation. The big channel fill into Okinawa Trough is not found due to the depletion of the river kinetic energy in the low land plain. The river discharge dispersal was of an important role to the dilution of the northern Okinawa Trough sea at that time. Six ancient river channel systems (A―F), which are main distributaries of ancient Changjiang in the East china Sea continental shelf during the last glaciation, may be buried off the modern Changjiang estuary. The distribution of these channels coincides with the zonal elevations in the sea floor.

Prediction of Rock Burst with Deep Mining Excavation in Linglong Gold Mine

To predict rock burst in deep mining excavation in Linglong gold mine, systematical laboratory tests of mechanical properties of rock, in situ stress measurement and 3.D FEM analysis on energy distribution in rock mass surrounding deep mining rooms were carried out. According to various prediction criteria of rock burst, it is concluded that rock burst is liable to occur during deep mining excavation in the mine.

For plate bending and stretching problems in piezoelectric materials,the reciprocal theorem and the general solution of piezoelasticity are applied in a novel way to obtain the appropriate mixed boundary conditions accurate to all order.A decay analysis technique is used to establish necessary conditions that the prescribed data on the edge of the plate must satisfy in order that it should generate a decaying state within the *** the case of axisymmetric bending and stretching of a circular plate,these decaying state conditions are obtained explicitly for the first time when the mixed conditions are imposed on the plate *** are then used for the correct formulation of boundary conditions for the interior solution.

Gastric tissue samples were studied using mid-IR fiber-optic attenuated total reflectance (ATR) spectroscopy. FTIR spectra of 90 tissue samples from 4. patients, including 3. normal and 58 malignant tissue samples, were chosen as examples. Malignancy was usually characterized by the absence of CH and C=O bands, a weak amide II band near 154. cm-1, a shift of the amide I band to lower wave number, a decrease in the ～14.0 cm-1 peak to less than the～14.0 cm-1 peak. Subtraction spectra indicate that the amide I and amide II bands of normal and malignant tissues have larger differences in peak positions and relative intensities. The statistical analysis results confirm this conclusion. The results indicate that FTIR fiber optic techniques provide important information about cancerous tissue of the stomach, which can be used to differentiate the malignant tissue from the normal tissue. Based on the above results we successfully realize the detection of the tumor tissues of digestive tract in vivo and in situ. And the results of detection cancer near operating room and in vivo and in situ in the operating room are consistent with the conclusions for the samples stored in liquid N2, which is the basis for the clinical application.

Coal samples from Qinshui Basin, Shanxi, china are experimentally deformed at temperatures and confining pressures of 200 - 500℃and 200 - 500 Mpa, strain rate of 0.5×10-5/s and total strain of 10%. The vitrinite reflectance of the coal samples varies from 3.04.to 1.79. It is shown that the strengths of the deformed samples change obviously with coeval increasing temperatures and pressures (T/P). At the experimental range of T/P, the effects of increasing temperature predominate over that of increasing pressure. Microstructural analysis indicates a brittle to ductile transition under experimental T/P conditions from 200 to 3.0℃, and 200 to 3.0Mpa. Brittle deformation microstruc-tures include macroscopic fracture zones and penetrative fracture associations. Elongation, undulose or irregular extinction, deformation lamellae and dynamic recrystallization of grains are the main ductile deformation microstructures. The variation of deformation mechanisms of the experimentally deformed coal samples is related to both the components of coals and T/P conditions. At low T/P, fractures occur in both inertinite and vitrinite of the samples. At higher T/P, crystalline plastic deformations are observed in the inertinite only.

Study on characterizing reservoir parameters dynamic variations by time-lapse seismic attributes is the theoretical basis for effectively distinguishing reservoir parameters variations and conducting time-lapse seismic interpretation,and it is also a key step for time-lapse seismic application in real oil fields. Based on the rock physical model of unconsolidated sandstone,the different effects of oil saturation and effective pressure variations on seismic P-wave and S-wave velocities are calculated and analyzed. Using numerical simulation on decoupled wave equations,the responses of seismic amplitude with different offsets to reservoir oil saturation variations are analyzed,pre-stack time-lapse seismic attributes differences for oil saturation and effective pressure variations of P-P wave and P-S converted wave are calculated,and time-lapse seismic AVO (Amplitude Versus Offset) response rules of P-P wave and P-S converted wave to effective pressure and oil saturation variations are compared. The theoretical modeling study shows that it is feasible to distinguish different reservoir parameters dynamic variations by pre-stack time-lapse seismic information,including pre-stack time-lapse seismic attributes and AVO information,which has great potential in improving time-lapse seismic interpreta-tion precision. It also shows that the time-lapse seismic response mechanism study on objective oil fields is especially important in establishing effective time-lapse seismic data process and interpreta-tion scheme.

Hemipelagic Deposition of the Silurian Kepingtage Formation in Tarim Basin and Its Sedimentologic Significance

Hemipelagic contourites were interpreted in the Silurian Kepingtage （柯坪塔格） Formation in the Tarim basin, Northwest china, through studies of outcrop, core, well-log, and seismic data. They are characterized by thin to thick bedded mudstone, with contour current irregularly thin bedded-lentiform siltstone and sandstone. Chitin stone, graptolite, thin-shelled bivalve, dissoconch, and acritatch fossils are present in dark-colored mudstones. A Helminthopsis-Scolicia trace fossil assem-blage was observed in the outcrop and drilling core. Sandstones are mainly well-sorted and subangular-subrounded sublitharenite. Sedimentary structures include oriented current structure, erosional surface, and small-scale cross stratifications. The potential of contourites as hydrocarbon source and reservoir rocks was evaluated on the basis of previous interpretations of paleoclimate and paleosalinity.
