Spectral analysis of quasi-stationary sea surface topography from GRACE mission

During the last two decades satellite altimetry has offered an abundance of meas-urements of the sea surface resulting in the improvement of global mean sea surface height (MSSH) and marine geoid determination. On the other hand, with the launching of new genera-tion gravity satellites, some high accuracy long-wavelength gravity models are available. These breakthroughs give us a great opportunity for new estimation of quasi-stationary sea surface topography (QSST). In this paper, the new gravity model GGM01C derived from GRACE mission is briefly presented, and a new global high precision and high-resolution QSST is determined based on the GGM01C model and the global MSSH. The spectral features of the QSST esti-mated by GGM01C and EGM96 gravity model to degree/order 200 are discussed by spectral analysis. As a result, the QSST is mainly composed of long waves, medium waves partially and short waves scarcely, its power spectral structures are different between the zonal direction and the meridional direction, there are great differences between the two models, which maybe ex-plain why the ocean currents derived from the two gravity models by Tapley show different pat-terns.

TNF recepter-55 is the main mediator of TNF-induced apoptosis. TNF receptor-75-dependent induction or enhancement of cytotoxicity has been explained by intracellular signaling, 'ligand passing' , or induction of endogenous TNF. To study the function of human TNF receptor-75 (hTR75) and the interaction between human TNF receptor-55 (hTR55) and hTR75 in hTNFa-induced cytotoxicity, HEp-2 cells were transfected with bicistronic expression vector of hTR75 and its deletion mutants genes. hTNFa-induced cytotoxicity was determined by crystal violet colorimetric method. The expression of hTR75 and its deletion mutants in HEp-2 cells was demonstrated by RT-PCR and indirect ELISA. We found that the overexpressed hTR75 could significantly increase the susceptibility of HEp-2 cells to hTNFa which especially required TRAF2 binding site. hTR75 could not only mediate partial hTNFa-induced cytotoxicity independently but also fulfill an accessory role in enhancing or synergizing hTR55-mediated cytotoxicity

Schistosomes cause schistosomiasis disease which severely threatens human health. Little is known about the functions of EF-hand domain containing schistosomes tegument proteins other than as an-tigens. More possible functions of these tegument proteins were investigated with in silico analyses including protein-protein functional interaction,site-specific variation and glycosylation modification. The analysis results suggested that schistosomes could actively modulate host immune responses for its own favor through functional interactions with host proteins with immunomodulatory function,and passively regulate host immune responses through sequence variation under positive selection and glycosylating the recognition sites of host immune attack. In addition,the analysis of the C-terminal domain of these tegument proteins indicated that they could assist schistosomes in escaping host immune attacks through inhibiting chemotaxis and non-complement fixing antibody (IgG4. responses. In summary,our results suggested that these tegument antigen proteins could assist schistosomes in escaping and modulating host immune responses for self-protection during the process of host-para-site interaction.

The formation of eukaryotic mRNAs involves the cleavage and polyadenylation of pre- mRNAs. To investigate the sequence requirement of putative polyadenylation signals (PASs), poly(A) sites and downstream elements (DUEs) in 3.-end-pro- cessing in rice, we compared expressed sequences tags (ESTs) with poly(A) extremity to full-length cDNA sequences and constructed a database of 12969 pre- mRNA sequences in ?4.―+4. nt surrounding the poly(A) sites, which were from 9953.genes. The al- ternative poly(A) sites were revealed in approxi- mately 25% of mRNAs. Nearly 80% of pre-mRNAs showed stringent requirement of the YA (CA or UA) at poly (A) sites for polyadenylation. About 7.9% had the AAUAAA signals on ?4.―?1 nt upstream of the poly(A) sites. Over 60% of mRNAs probably used the one- or two-base variants of AAUAAA hexamers as their PASs in 3. fragments. The single-base variants of AAUGAA revealed the high frequency in 11.5% of 3. fragments. The DUEs were detected in 90% of pre- mRNAs, especially more than half of the pre-mRNAs with multi-base variants of AAUAAA had the DUEs surrounding the poly(A) site. The location of DUE is also important for defining the cleavage site. Al- though most of the rice pre-mRNAs did not contain AAUAAA signal, the existence of downstream ele- ments ensured the efficiency of cleavage-polyade-

Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease triggered by genetic, environment or other risk factors such as infection, drugs, stress, moisture, alcohol, and smoking. A major psoriasis susceptibility locus at 6p21.3. has been identified. Further studies found that HLA-DQA1*0201 allele was associated with psoriasis. However, there were few data exploring an association between the environmental factors and susceptibility genes. In this study, the samples of 189 patients with psoriasis and 3.3.healthy controls were collected with their consent and were carried on analysis through polymerase chain reaction sequence-specific primer (PCR- SSP) method. The entropies of scalar field and neutrino field are calculated in the background of three-dimensional BTZ black hole. Considering statistical physics,we propose not to consider the superraradiant modes for bosons (Fermion fields do not display supperradiance).In fact,the nonsuperradiant modes do contribute exactly the area entropy for both bosons and fermions. The result shows that the neutrino field entropy is 3.2 times the scalar one.

β-Ga2O3. Cr single crystals were grown by floating zone technique. Absorption spectra and fluorescence spectra were measured at room temperature. The values of field splitting parameter Dq and Racah parameter B were obtained by the peak values of absorption spectra. The value 10Dq/B=23.14.manifests that in β-Ga2O3.crystals Cr3. ions are influenced by low energy crystal field. After high temperature annealing in air, the Cr3. intrinsic emission was enhanced and the green lumines-cence disappeared. The strong and broad 691 nm emission was obtained at 4.0 nm excitation due to the electron transition occurred from 4.2 to 4.2. The studies manifest that the β-Ga2O3.crystals have the potential application for tunable laser.

A Glauber multiple scattering theory in terms of pations and nucleons is applied to study productions of kaon, lambda and antilambda ill 50 GeV proton-nucleus scatterings at JHF (the Japan Hadron Facility). Tile ratios of tile differential cross sections of nucleontungsten to nucleon-beryllium are calclutated versus the transverse momentum at central rapidity. The cancellation between the single and double scattering amplitudes leads to nuclear enhancement of strangeness production at central rapidity.
