During the last two decades satellite altimetry has offered an abundance of meas-urements of the sea surface resulting in the improvement of global mean sea surface height (MSSH) and marine geoid determination. On the other hand, with the launching of new genera-tion gravity satellites, some high accuracy long-wavelength gravity models are available. These breakthroughs give us a great opportunity for new estimation of quasi-stationary sea surface topography (QSST). In this paper, the new gravity model GGM01C derived from GRACE mission is briefly presented, and a new global high precision and high-resolution QSST is determined based on the GGM01C model and the global MSSH. The spectral features of the QSST esti-mated by GGM01C and EGM96 gravity model to degree/order 2.0 are discussed by spectral analysis. As a result, the QSST is mainly composed of long waves, medium waves partially and short waves scarcely, its power spectral structures are different between the zonal direction and the meridional direction, there are great differences between the two models, which maybe ex-plain why the ocean currents derived from the two gravity models by Tapley show different pat-terns.

Histone H1 and its C-terminal lysine rich fragments were recently found to be potent inhibitorsof furin,a mammalian proprotein ***,its role in the regulation of furin-dependent proproteinprocessing remains *** we report that histone H1 efficiently blocks furin-dependent pro-yonWillebrand factor（pro-vWF）processing in a dose-dependent *** and immunof-luorescence studies confirmed that histone H1 could interact with furin,and the interaction mainly took placeon the cell *** noted that histone H1 was released from cells undergoing necrosis and apoptosisinduced by *** findings suggested that histone H1 might be involved in extracellular and/or intracellu-lar furin regulation.

The formation of eukaryotic mRNAs involves the cleavage and polyadenylation of pre- mRNAs. To investigate the sequence requirement of putative polyadenylation signals (PASs), poly(A) sites and downstream elements (DUEs) in 3.-end-pro- cessing in rice, we compared expressed sequences tags (ESTs) with poly(A) extremity to full-length cDNA sequences and constructed a database of 12.69 pre- mRNA sequences in ?40―+40 nt surrounding the poly(A) sites, which were from 9953.genes. The al- ternative poly(A) sites were revealed in approxi- mately 2.% of mRNAs. Nearly 80% of pre-mRNAs showed stringent requirement of the YA (CA or UA) at poly (A) sites for polyadenylation. About 7.9% had the AAUAAA signals on ?40―?1 nt upstream of the poly(A) sites. Over 60% of mRNAs probably used the one- or two-base variants of AAUAAA hexamers as their PASs in 3. fragments. The single-base variants of AAUGAA revealed the high frequency in 11.5% of 3. fragments. The DUEs were detected in 90% of pre- mRNAs, especially more than half of the pre-mRNAs with multi-base variants of AAUAAA had the DUEs surrounding the poly(A) site. The location of DUE is also important for defining the cleavage site. Al- though most of the rice pre-mRNAs did not contain AAUAAA signal, the existence of downstream ele- ments ensured the efficiency of cleavage-polyade-

Interleaving is an efficient measure to resolve the bursty errors in a block fading multiple-inputs multiple-outputs (MIMO) system. For the metrics of network layer, interleaving exerts two conflicting effects on the ultimate delay performance. Specifically, interleaving can advantageously reduce data transmit time. On the other hand, it comes at a cost, entailing an undesired delay penalty resulting from interleaving depth. Here, we exploit a unified model to accommodate these two conflicting effects, and derive the average waiting time in block fading MIMO systems with dynamic-depth interleaving. Such a unified model is developed with a combined method of both information theory and queueing theory. Therefore, the model is capable of characterizing the randomness of data arrival process, hence the nature of dynamic-depth interleaving. The methodology and the results are applicable to designing, evaluating, and tuning the practical interleaving systems.

In multiloci-based genetic association studies of complex diseases, a powerful and high efficient tool for analyses oflinkage disequilibrium (LD) between markers, haplotype distributions and many chi-square/p values with a large numberof samples has been sought for long. In order to achieve the goal of obtaining meaningful results directly from raw data,we developed a robust and user-friendly software platform with a series of tools for analysis in association study withhigh efficiency. The platform has been well evaluated by several sets of real data.

Human papillomavirus 58 (HPV58) is one type of HPV with high risk of causing cervical cancer. Unusually high prevalence of HPV58 has been reported in Asia, Africa and some other areas. However, due to the scattered distribution of global data, in addition to the lack of data of some HPV58 high-incidence nations and regions, like china's Mainland, a comprehensive analysis of the global geographical distribution of HPV58 remains blank so far. In this study, HPV58 from the human cervical cancer tissue was detected in china's Mainland, and 14 new HPV58-E6/L1 gene sequences were obtained. Moreover, phylogeographic analysis has been conducted combining the HPV58 sequences that have been deposited in GenBank since 1985. The study result shows that the sequences detected from the {2., Jiangsu and Sichuan areas are homologous with those found in the past from Hong Kong and Xi'an, china, as well as Japan and other Southeast Asian areas. Furthermore, Western Africa is considered to be the "root" source of the HPV58 variant, while china's Mainland and Southeast Asia are "transit points" and the new sources of HPV58 after receiving the isolates from the "root" source; like HPV16 and HPV18, the HPV58 might also be one of the major HPV types associated with the development and spread of cervical cancer.

In this study, a series of acrylic ester resins with different pore size distribution were prepared successfully by varying the type and the amount of pore-forming agents. In order to inves-tigate the adsorption behavior and mechanism of surfactants on acrylic ester resins, three kinds of surfactants were utilized as adsorbates that were sodium 6-dodecyl benzenesulfonate (6-NaDBS), sodium 1-dodecyl benzene sulfonate (1-NaDBS) and sodium 1-dodecyl sulfonate, respectively. It was observed that the surface area was available in a particular pore size and an appropriate pore size of resins appeared to be more important for the adsorption of surfactants. As compared to commercial acrylic ester resins XAD-7 and HP2.G, 50# and 3.# resins exhibited more excellent adsorption properties toward 1-NaDBS and 6-NaDBS. The experimental equilibrium data were fitted to the Langmuir, and double-Langmuir models. Two models provided very good fittings for all resins over the temperature range studied. The investigation indicated that electrostatic attraction and hydrogen bond between resins and surfactants were the main forces and had an obvious effect on adsorption proc-ess.

shanghai Museum has got great achievements in re-excavating Guangfulin relics. It is the first time that the cultural remains of Wangyoufang type is found above the Liangzhu cultural remains which comes from East Henan Province, providing previous materials for researching cul-ture evolution around Taihu Lake. Samples were taken from the immature soil layer and cultural layers of Guangfulin relics for phytolith analysis. According to the systemic re-search for the archaeological remains and phytolith fossil, the phytoliths in Guangfulin relics can be divided into four zones. The development of rice agriculture and living condi-tion of Guangfulin ancestors was discussed based on the ex-isting rice fan-shaped phytolith, rice shell phytolith, diatom fossil and archaeology evidence in the same layer. The Guangfulin relics has gradually developed since a high sea level 5000 years ago, and the broad rice agriculture has si-multaneously developed. The newly re-excavated relics pro-vides valuable materials for the research of ancestors and ancient culture in shanghai.

A five-gene cluster cvhABCDE was identified from Streptomyces hygroscopicus *** thefirst gene of this cluster,cvhA encoded a putative sensor histidine kinase with a predicted sensor domainconsisting of two trans-membrane segments at the N-terminus and a conserved HATPasecdomain at the *** C-terminus polypeptide of CvhA expressed in Escherichia coli was purified and shown to beautophosphorylated with [γ-3.P]ATP in *** phosphoryl group was acid-labile and basic-stable,whichsupported histidine as the phosphorylation *** obvious difference of mycelia development was ob-served between the null mutant of cvhA generated by targeted gene replacement and the wild-type parentalstrain 10-2. grown on solid soya flour medium with 2.-8% glucose or sucrose,but the cvhA mutant couldform much more abundant aerial mycelia and spores than the wild-type strain on solid soya flour mediumsupplemented with 6%-8% mannitol,6%-8% sorbitol,4%-6% mannose,or 4%-6% *** pheno-type was complemented by the cloned wild-type cvhA gene,and no difference was observed for growthcurves of the cvhA mutant and the wild strain in liquid minimal medium with the tested sugars at a concen-tration of 4%,6% and 8%.We thus propose that CvhA is likely a sensor histidine kinase and negativelyregulates the morphological differentiation in a sugar-dependent manner in *** 10-2..
