Aoyitake plagiogranite in western Tarim Block, NW china: Age, geochemistry, petrogenesis and its tectonic implications

SHRIMPP U-Pb zircon age and geochemical and Nd isotopic data are reported for the Aoyitake plagiogranite in western Tarim Block, NW china. The plagiogranite intruded the Middle Pro- terozoic and Lower Carboniferous with an exposure area of ca. 60 km2 and crystallized at 3.0.7±4.8 Ma. Rock types mainly include tonalite, trondhjemite and minor amounts of diorite and quartz-diorite. Feldspars in the rocks are dominated by oligoclase-andesine, and minor perthite observed locally. The granites are sodic with Na/K ratios (molar) between 4 and 87. Total REE (50-220 ppm) show a clear positive correlation with SiO2. There is no LRRE/HREE fractionation (LaN/YbN=0.5-1.5), me- dium negative Eu anomalies (δ Eu=0.3.0.6), high Y content and low Sr/Y ratio (~1.0). These granites exhibit relatively juvenile Nd T2DM model ages of 470 to 580 Ma and positive εNd(3.1 Ma) values of 6.23.to 7.65. The aforementioned characteristics are similar to those of ocean island or ocean ridge plagiogranites. However, the regional geology, especially its scale, precludes that the plagiogranite pluton was derived directly from fractionational crystallization of mantle-derived basaltic magma. We interpreted that the primary magma of the pluton might be tonalitic in composition generated by ca. 50% partial melting of the juvenile basaltic crust. The primary magma experienced intensive frac- tionational crystallization, and intruded into the middle to upper crusts to form the granite pluton. In combination with the previous regional geological data, it is concluded that the plagiogranite pluton was emplaced within the Tarim Block in respond to the Carboniferous continental rifting along the Tianshan orogenic belt.

The species diversity of fusulinaceans and high-frequency sea-level changes in the Carboniferous-Permian boundary section at Xikou, Zhen'an County,Shaanxi Province, china

The study on the interrelation between sea-level changes and biodiversity with its evolu-tion has great significance for understanding the impact of global changes on organic evolution and exploring the inherent laws of life-environment coevolution in geological history. In this paper, the stratigraphic distribution of fusulinacean fauna in the Carboniferous-Permian boundary section at Xikou, Zhen’an County, Shaanxi Province, is analyzed quantitatively, and the relationship between the species diversity of fusulinaceans and relative sea-level changes is discussed. As a whole, the spe-cies numbers of fusulinacean fauna experience a rapid increase and an obvious decline in Xikou, Zhen’an County, from the Late Carboniferous to the Early Permian. There is a significant increase in species diversity around the Carboniferous-Permian boundary, which is one of the biggest bio-events of the fusulinacean fauna, and represents the radiation of Pseudoschwagerininae subfamily in the studied area. Integrated fusulinacean species diversity into sequence stratigraphic framework, de-tailed study suggests that the species diversity of the fusulinaceans is closely related to its relative stratigraphic location, and is essentially controlled by the sea-level changes, especially by the high-frequency sea-level changes. Generally, the species diversity of fusulinaceans is low, and the number of first and last appearance datum is small in the lower unit of high-frequency depositional cycle formed during the quick rise of the sea level; whereas the species diversity of fusulinaceans is high, and the number of first and last appearance datum is large in the upper unit of high-frequency cycle formed during the slow fall of the sea level. Within the third-order depositional sequence, the species diversity of the fusulinaceans at the first flooding surfaces and the maximum flooding surfaces is low, and it increases upward. The effects of moisture content and time on mechanical behavior of polymer materials are investigated both theoretically and experimentally in this paper. An equivalence relationship between time intervals and the moisture content for polymer nylon-6 has been established by way of experimental observation and measured results. The relationship shows that there exists equivalence between moisture and service time in affecting mechanical properties. In other words, an increase in moisture can be replaced by prolonging acting time in producing the same effect on material properties. Consequently, a moisture-time superposition principle is presented based on the experimental results and the analogy of temperature-time superposition principle. Numerical results such as stress-strain curves with different moisture contents are presented to verify the applicability and correctness. The proposed method appears very promising in study on the effect of moisture content on mechanical behavior of polymer materials.

The risk analysis of urban rainstorm water logging facing tianjin city by using methods of probability, investigation and numerical simulation was carried out in this article. Firstly, a mathematical model for the urban rainstorm water logging was established on the basis of one- and two-dimensional unsteady flow theory and the technique of non-structural irregular grid division, Secondly, the precipitation over heavy rain was divided into seven grades, the experiential expression of frequency and rain grades was got according to the observed rainfall from May 1918 to October 1998. Thirdly, the mathematical model was used to simulate various rain process according to the features of the rainstorm and the draining rule, based on the simulated maximum water depths, 3.class of disaster extents were established, the disaster risks were mainly in Class Ⅰ and Class Ⅱ, The risk analysis of water logging on traffic were primarily evaluated, and finally, some management and mitigation measures of the urban rainstorm water logging disaster were discussed.

SrGa_2S_4∶Ce blue TFEL in new structure

SrGa-2S-4∶Ce blue TFEL device with a novel structure was prepared by electron beam evaporation. The dielectric constant of insulator layer in this structure is far less than that in the conventional structure, so the hot-electrons can be accelerated in SiO-2 layers. The stable TFEL with good chromaticity was achieved and the basic characteristics were investigated.

Mechanism of Breakdown in Laminar-Turbulent Transition of Incompressible Boundary Layer on a Flat Plate

Temporal mode direct numerical simulation was done for the process of laminar-turbulent transition in an incompressible boundary layer on a flat plate. The analysis of the results showed that during the breakdown process of laminar-turbulent transition, the modification of the mean flow profile by the disturbances led to a remarkable change in its stability characteristics, manifested in the significant enlargement of the linear unstable zone and the maximum amplification rate, and led to that many more disturbances were excited and enhanced rapidly, correspondingly the turbulent energy also increased rapidly, and the mean flow profiles evolved swiftly from laminar to turbulent. It was also found that if the oblique waves in the initial disturbances did not form symmetrical pairs, the subsequent span-wise mean velocities would, in general, be nonzero due to nonlinear interaction, which would have a great effect on the stability characteristics and also implied that the turbulence obtained by direct numerical simulation might not be fully a random process.

Some new concepts (rank of a loop, degree of freedom of a graph, path unit and ordered path arrangement, constraint degree of path, coupling degree of a graph, basic graph, etc.), formulas, and algorithms, are proposed in this paper. Based on these concepts, a new systematic theory and practical method for the design of topological structure, kinematics and dynamics of mechanical systems is established. Some conjectures and problems needed to be researched are also put forward. The concepts, formulae and algorithms presented in this paper will find wide potential applications.

Thermodynamic Analysis of the Preparation Process of EB-PVD SiC Coating

The process of preparing SiC coating by electron beam-physical vapor deposition （EB-PVD） was discussed from viewpoint of thermodynamis. Results show that within the temperature range of 2 700-3.3.0 K, the ratio of SiC in the SiC coating doesn＇t change much and keeps around 0.7. Purity of the as-deposited SiC coating is not high. To improve the purity of the SiC coating, the SiC ingot is required to not be, necessary in full density but be fine-grained.

Two algorithms for the phase retrieval of hard X-ray in-line phase contrast imaging are presented. One is referred to as Iterative Angular Spectrum Algorithm (IASA) and the other is a hybrid algorithm that combines IASA with TIE (transport of intensity equation). The calculations of the algorithms are based on free space propagation of the angular spectrum. The new approaches are demonstrated with numerical simulations. Comparisons with other phase retrieval algorithms are also performed. It is shown that the phase retrieval method combining the IASA and TIE is a promising technique for the application of hard X-ray phase contrast imaging.

The combined adjustment project of the nationwide astronomical geodetic networks and 2000' national GPS control network involve 48519 terrestrial observational stations and 2666 GPS observational stations. In the terrestrial network, 25107 stations are height fixed and 23.12.stations are in three dimensions. 440793.terrestrial observations and 183.68 unknowns are involved in the adjustment. The three-dimensional observational models for the adjustment have been established. The crustal deformation influences and corrections are researched. Fast methods of solving partitioned adjustment for super large-scale geodetic network have been studied. The standard deviations of three-dimensional coordinates for all stations are evaluated. As a result of the combined adjustment, a unified national geodetic network with nearly 50000 stations is established, the high accurate three-dimensional geocentric coordinates are obtained. The standard deviation for geoid is averagely 0.2 m, for vertical deflection is about 1.5″, for the horizontal position is about 0.12.m, for the geodetic height is about 0.14 m, and for the three-dimensional position is averagely 0.3.m.
