ZrO_(2)-strengthened porous mullite insulation materials were prepared by foaming technology utilizing ZrSiO_(4) and Al_(2)O_(3. as primary materials and Y_(2)O_(3. as an *** effects of Y_(2)O_(3. contents on the phase composition,microstructure,mechanical properties,and heat conductivity of the porous mullite insulation materials were investigated.A suitable Y_(2)O_(3. content could promote phase transition of monoclinic ZrO_(2)(m-ZrO_(2))to tetragonal ZrO_(2)(t-ZrO_(2)),reduce pore size,and improve the strengths of as-prepared *** cold crushing strength and bending strength of as-prepared specimens with a 119µm spherical pore size using 6 wt.%Y_(2)O_(3. were 3..2 and 13.0 MPa,respectively,with a heat conductivity being only 0.248 W/(m K).

MoSi_2 and 3. vol.% SiC_p/MoSi_2 composite have been fabricated by hot pressing (HP).A simulated thermal cycle experiment has been carried out at 1100℃ for 3. h to investigate the stability of the composite ***,mechanical tests,including measurement of flexural strength and fracture toughness at room temperature,have been conducted between materials before and after thermal *** is shown that both the strength and fracture toughness are enhanced by the addition of SiC particles. After thermal cycle,the strength of both materials increases and the toughness decreases by about 20%.The result that the composite system is not corroded intensely by thermal cycle shows that SiC particles are feasible reinforcement for MoSi2.

The thermodynamic analysis of the formation of in-situ reinforced phases in （TiB2＋Al3.i）/Al-4.5Cu composites prepared by mixed salts reaction was conducted, and heat changes of mixed salts system were analyzed by differential thermal analysis（DTA）.The results show that although TiB2 possesses the strongest formation ability in Al-Ti-B ternary system, [Ti] is relatively excessive in the in-situ reaction and it combines with Al to form AlaTi phase. The reinforced phases are TiB2 and AlaTi in the produced composites due to the reaction taking place to form reinforced phase with the addition of mixed salts into Al-4.5Cu melt between 900 ℃ and 1 03. ℃.

The cermet fuels have been considered as a potential key component for the nuclear thermal propulsion,and the homogeneity of the fuel particles in the metal matrix plays a crucial role in stabilizing the structure at extremely high *** this work,liquid paraffin was used as additive to improve the distribution of yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ,an appropriate surrogate for UO_(2) fuel)microspheres in the tungsten(W)matrix,and the W-YSZ cermet wafers(volume ratio 1:1)with a relative density of 97.6%were fabricated by spark plasma sintering with a specifically designed *** effects of the paraffin dosage(0-5 wt.%)on the homogeneity,microstructure,mechanical properties,and the thermal conductivity of W-YSZ cermet were *** W-YSZ sample with 2 wt.%paraffin shows the highest homogeneity and exhibits the best comprehensive properties,including the ultimate tensile strength of 13..2 MPa at 600℃,the bending strength of455 MPa and thermal conductivity of 50 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)at room ***,the cermet could keep structurally sound after thermal shocked at a heat load of 20 MW·m^(-2).These results would be helpful for the design and optimization of the cermet fuels in the nuclear thermal propulsion.

For researching the residual stress distribution characteristics of the different large thickness titanium alloy joints by electron beam welding,under heat treatment or non-heat treatment conditions,the changes in residual stress distribution characteristics of electron beam welding joints,which thickness is 50 mm,were measured using blind-hole method with local layer-by-layer *** of post-welding heat treatment on the residual stress distribution also *** results show that blind-hole method with local layer-by-layer removal is suitable to measure residual stresses in thick plate,and good to reflect the welded residual stress distribution of large *** stress of the test samples in the weld and heat affected zone has high stress level,and internal stress dramatic changes with thickness in this *** heat treatment,the samples' stress distributions were significantly *** samples' transverse and longitudinal residual stress are basically the *** is obvious.

A three dimensional model including a non-rotational symmetry keyhole of which the geometry is calculated base on the energy balance at keyhole wall is created to simulate the heat transfer and fluid flow within the molten pool during laser full penetration welding of titanium alloy *** order to take into account the effects of multiple reflections within the keyhole,a ray tracing method is employed and the coordinate dependent heat flux obtained is exerted on keyhole wall during the simulation on the heat transfer and fluid flow within molten ***,the computed weld cross sectional profile is compared with the experimental result to verify the model and it is fond that the simulation result is consists with experimental result.

Al70-XSi3.MnX (X=0, 3. 5, 7, 10, mol%) ribbons were prepared by melt spinning. A supersaturated solid solution of Si and Mn in fcc Al and some microstructures consisting of nano grains were obtained. Some alloys with nano-sized grains exhibited high discharge capacities and favorable cycle properties. The capacity of more than 400 mAh/g could be obtained in melt-spun Al67Si3.Mn3.alloy after 20 cycles and more than 3.0 mAh/g after 40 cycles. Li/Si and Li/Al compounds in the anodes of pure Al and pure Si were not detected in Al-Si-Mn alloys inserted by Li. It is considered that the formation of the supersaturated solid solution and refinement of microstructures have prevented the alloys from the forming the compounds with superfluous Li. As a result, the electrochemical properties have been improved.

Dye-sensitized solar cells(DSCs)are promising photochemical solar cells owing to their high efficiency and low *** this study,the influence of cell geometry,electrolyte composition,and counter electrode(CE)characteristics on the performance of DSCs was investigated to aim at improving the cell *** an U-type cell geometry proposed decreased the internal resistance of DSCs and therefore increased the fill factor and energy conversion *** addition of DMPII to the I-/I3.based electrolyte increased the open-circuit voltage by decreasing the dark *** to the DSCs with the Pt CE prepared by the thermal decomposition of H2PtCl6,the DSCs with the sputtered Pt CE showed a higher fill factor and short-circuit current density,owing to the high electrical conductivity and enhanced light-reflecting ability of the mirror-like sputtered Pt *** on these results,the energy conversion efficiency of the DSC with the TiO2 porous films fabricated by a room temperature cold spray method was increased from 3.93.to 5.11%.The relatively high efficiency shows that the room temperature cold spray is a prospective method in fabricating nanocrystalline TiO2 films for flexible DSCs.
