There have been many skewed cancer gene expression datasets in the post-genomic era. Extraction of differential expression genes or construction of decision rules using these skewed datasets by traditional algorithms will seriously underestimate the performance of the minority class, leading to inaccurate diagnosis in clinical trails. This paper presents a skewed gene selection algorithm that introduces a weighted metric into the gene selection procedure. The extracted genes are paired as decision rules to distinguish both classes, with these decision rules then integrated into an ensemble learning framework by majority voting to recognize test examples; thus avoiding tedious data normalization and classifier construction. The mining and integrating of a few reliable decision rules gave higher or at least comparable classification performance than many traditional class imbalance learning algorithms on four benchmark imbalanced cancer gene expression datasets.

The global robust exponential stability of a class of neural networks with polytopic uncertainties and distributed delays is investigated in this ***-dependent Lypaunov-Krasovskii functionals and free-weighting matrices are employed to obtain sufficient condition that guarantee the robust global exponential stability of the equilibrium point of the considered neural *** derived sufficient condition is proposed in terms of a set of relaxed linear matrix inequalities (LMIs),which can be checked easily by recently developed algorithms solving LMIs.A numerical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed criteria.

Pulsed thermography(PT) as a non-contact non-destructive evaluation(NDE) technique was employed to examine as-sprayed air plasma spray(APS) thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) for quality *** and micro-structural characteristics play a vital role in determining the *** this paper,PT logarithmic peak second-derivative method was adopted to measure the thickness of top *** dependent thermal images were used to characterize the microstructure which was confirmed by scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results showed that there was relationship between the temperature distribution of the surface and microstructure change in *** distribution in thermal images and measurement results of thickness were in fairly good agreement with the microstructure *** can be concluded that it was possible to employ these NDE methods as quality evaluation for as-sprayed TBCs.

In light of the severe deformation and destruction of the district raise tunnel in the mining area at the northern part of the Lubanshan colliery, by the theoretic analysis and numerical simulation, both the mining stress distribution in seams group and the deformation and destruction mechanism of floor district raise were investigated. The results show that, at the maximum vertical distance of 40 m, the abutment stress has an influence on the recovery of 2# and 3. coal seam and 8# coal seam at distance of 3. m. As a result, the recovery of 8# is rather than those of 2# or 3. coal seam, which contributes to the deformation and destruction of the district raise surrounding rock. The major factors affecting the abutment stress include the mining depth, mining height, residual gob space, adjacent working faces and short spacing coal seam recovery.

About 5.2×108 t/a of silts from the upper reach of the yangtze River are transported through Yichang into the middle yangtze River. The middle yangtze itself and its tributaries yield ca. 0.8×108 t silts annually. Of this total 6×108 t/a input of silts, ca. 1.2×108 t/a are deposited within the river artery and lakes, while ca 4.83.108 t/a are at first transported into the lower reach through Datong, and then either deposited along the river and the yangtze Delta, or output into the sea. Along the middle yangtze River silting generally exceeds scouring, but the spatial and temporal distributions of scour-and-fill, as well as its distribution in the river valley transections, are uneven. Along the Yichang-Chenglingji and Jiujiang-Datong Segments of the middle yangtze, scouring exceeds or equals silting. Silting mainly occurs along the Luoshan-Wuhan-Huangshi Segments with Wuhan as the pivotal point, as well as in the Dongting and Poyang Lakes. Even in these silting-dominated areas, there are times and parts of segments that scouring prevails. As to the transections, generally the river channel of main stream is scouring-dominated, forming V-shaped sections to a depth of 203. m or more, whereas the floodplains and bar islands are silting-dominated, forming wide and relatively high flats, which are often artificially transformed into protected embankments. Because the Jingjiang Levee separates the Jianghan Plain from yangtze to the south, little has been deposited in that plain except a few sediments from the Han River—a tributary of the middle yangtze. This factor plus the tectonic sag of that plain has made the altitude of plain surface several meters lower than that of the levee in most of the areas. Sil-tation along the Luoshan-Wuhan-Huangshi Segments has resulted in the elevation of flood level in this and upstream segments. The micromechanical behaviors and mechanics-optics coupling effects of optic-fiber-concrete complex in the distributed optic-fiber sensing concrete-crack technology,which was used in health monitoring of Wu Gorge Bridge on yangtze River and a large dam successfully,have been investigated.A micromechanical theoretical analysis method and micromechanical frictional contact bi-interface model,as well as a modified optical theoretical analysis method of the mechanics-optics coupling effects are presented.A series of verification experiments,including mechanical experiments and mechanics-optics coupling experiments,have been *** results of micromechanical theoretical analysis and the analysis of the modified theory of mechanics-optics coupling along with mechanical and optical experimental data are shown to be in close *** the micromechanical theory and the modified theory of mechanics-optics coupling with their analysis methods can not only enhance credibility of this novel distributed sensing technology but also provide a way to understand its sensing mechanism and optimize its technical details and system.

By applying nonequilibrium Green's function formalism combined with first-principles density functional theory, we investigate the electronic transport properties of the dihydroazulene optical molecular switch. Three kinds of adsorption sites including the hollow, bridge and top sites are studied. The two forms of this molecule, namely the open form and the closed form, can reversibly switch from each other upon photoexcitation. Their transmission spectra are remarkably distinctive. Theoretical results show that the current of the closed form is always significantly larger than that of the open form for all three adsorption sites, which promises this system as possibly one of the good candidates for optical switches due to its unique advantage, and which may have some potential applications in the future molecular circuit.

The Songshugou dunite body, which occupies an area of about 20 km2, is the largest ultramafic massif in the eastern Qinling orogenic belt, Central china. The major compo-nent of this body is dunitic rocks including mylonitic dunite and coarse-grained dunite; they oc-cupy about 95 vol% of the total body. Petrography, mineral composition, major and trace ele-ments and primitive melt inclusions have been investigated in this paper; all revealed that this dunite body is the product of melt-rock interaction by porous percolation flow. In comparison with dunite sills or veins in harzburgite from the basal part of Oman ophiolite, this dunite body is characterized by lower contents of Al2O3. CaO and HREE but higher content of highly incom-patible elements and Zr and Hf. The LREE enriched patterns and primitive mantle normalized spidergrams of trace elements are also different from the Oman dunite. Combining with melt in-clusions observed in olivines, we conclude that this dunite body is the product of large- scale porous percolation flow of high-MgO melts within depleted mantle peridotites. The high-MgO magma, in essence, was most probably produced at the hot head of an upwelling mantle plume. The occurrence of the Songshugou dunite body is closely associated with the activity of mantle super-plume in Neo-Proterozoic era in the yangtze Craton.
