A combined procedure for separating Lu,Hf,Rb,Sr,Sm and Nd from a single sample digestion is presented in this *** procedure consists of the following four steps:(1) sample dissolution in a mixture of concentrated HF-HNO-HClO;(2) Lu and Hf separation from the Rb,Sr,LMREE and other matrix elements by HF-free extraction chromatography;(3. Rb,Sr and LMREE separation from other matrix elements using a cation-exchange resin;(4. Sm and Nd separation from others LMREE by extraction *** feasibility,flexibility and reproducibility of Rb-Sr,Sm-Nd and Lu-Hf isotope systems are demonstrated for international standard solutions and Certified Reference Materials(CRMs). Results show good agreement with previously reported values by isotope dilution methods,indicating the technique has fewer problems in respect to well-known sample inhomogeneity of natural geological materials and demonstrating its potential application to the study of limited and precious terrestrial rocks or minerals(like peridotite,kimberlite and xenoliths) and extra-terrestrial samples(like lunar rock and meteorites).

A new rock type of granite,approximate 4. km in area and located about 10 km south of Xilinhot,Inner Mongolia,was found in the Sunitezuoqi(or called Suzuoqi) -Xilinhot tectonic belt and identified as an A-type miarolitic *** pluton has miarolitic structure and is composed chiefly of perthite,quartz,euhedral albite and potassium *** types of textures occur in the pluton,such as perthitie,graphic and myrmekite textures. Only quartz is found in miarolitic *** A-type granite with seagull-shaped REE patterns and obvious negative Eu anomaly(δEu=0.24.0.28) is high in SiO(76%—77%),K and Na(NaO+KO=7.75%—8.15%) and low in Ca(CaO =0.20%—0.22%),Fe and *** petrographical observations and chemical compositions indicate that it is an A-type *** shrimp U-Pb analyses indicate that this A-type granite was emplaced at 276±2 Ma and coeval with the same type of granites in the adjacent ***,it suggests that this pluton was likely formed in a post-orogenic extensional setting and probably related to break-off of subducted slabs in Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB),which indicate that the Sunitezuoqi-Xilinhot belt was tectonically evolved into post-orogenic stage since early Permian.

Mantle plume or superplume activities have often been invoked as a cause for the breakup of the Neoproterozoic supercontinent ***,associated Neoproterozoic continental flood basalts,a requisite product of mantle plume activities,have rarely been *** sensitive high-resolution ion microprobe(shrimp) U-Pb zircon ages,geochemical,and Hf-Nd isotopic data are reported here for the Bikou Group basalts,the largest Neoproterozoic volcanic units in the northwestern Yangtze block, South *** Bikou basalts are mainly tholeiitic in composition,and they can be stratigraphically subdivided into the lower and upper *** U-Pb zircon dating of intercalated rhyolites indicates that the lower and upper group basalts were erupted at 821±7 Ma and 811±12 Ma,respectively. The two basalt groups define two populations on most elemental and isotopic diagrams. The lower group basalts display strong subcontinental lithospheric mantle affinities and large variableεNd(t)) andεHf(t)) values that correlate negatively with Th/Ta and positively with *** upper group basalts,on the other hand,show ocean-island basalt(OIB) affinities and highly positiveεHf(t)) andεNd(t)) values. Numerical modeling indicates that the lower and upper group basalts were formed at melting temperatures of>13.0℃and>14.0℃and mantle potential temperatures of 14.0- 14.8℃and 1550±3.℃,***, the upper group basalts were derived from an anomalously hot asthenosphere mantle,～160℃hotter than the contemporary ambient mid-ocean-ridge basalt(MORB) source *** results are at clear variance with the alternative tectonic model that the Bikou basalts were part of a continental magmatic *** work suggests that the Bikou basalts are likely the remnants of Neoproterozoic continental flood basalts that formed in response to a mantle plume starting ca.825 Ma during the breakup of the supercontinent Rodinia.

The Xilin Gol Complex,consisting of deformed and metamorphosed rocks,was exposed as a large geological unit within the Central Asian Orogenic Belt,but its forming and subsequent deformed and metamorphic time has been an issue of little *** analyses and shrimp dating on biotite-plagioclase gneiss,one of the major rocks within the Xilin Gol Complex,in southeast Xilinhot City,Inner Mongolia,china,where the Xilin Gol Complex was identified and named,yield its lower limit age of 4.3}±3.Ma(2σ)by its magmatic zircon shrimp U-Pb dating,and an upper limit age of 3.6±3.a(2σ),which was constrained by shrimp dating of magmatic zircons from adjacent undeformed garnet-bearing granite which intruded the Complex. The Complex was thus determined to be formed and subsequently deformed/metamorphosed from the late Ordovician -early Silurian to the ***,it is not the Precambrian terrane as previously considered by most *** or less,the major rock——biotiteplagioclase gneiss within the Complex is more likely to be Paleozoic fore-arc turbidite formation before metamorphism and intensive deformation,in which the detrital zircons gave sporadic Precambrian ages as old as up to 3.1 *** source of the turbidite formation is multiple,which may be derived either from the North china Craton,or from the South-Mongolia Micro-continent,or probably came from a potential and undiscovered in situ terranes aged 600—800 Ma or even up to ca 3.1 Ga near the Complex.

Nd and Sr isotope Constraints on the Age and Origin of Proterozoic Meta mafic Volcanic Rocks in the Bainaimiao Wenduermiao District,South central Inner Mongolia,china

Sm Nd and Rb Sr isotope data for amphibolites, greenschists and biotite amphibole plagioclase gneisses from Proterozoic volcano sedimentary sequences and younger granodiorite intrusions in the Bainaimiao Wenduermiao district, Inner Mongolia,*** are presented in the paper. Samples of the Baiyinduxi Group amphibolite yielded a Sm Nd isochron age of 13.4.75Ma(2σ). and ε Nd(t)is+7.9±2.1(2σ).This age is interpreted as the time of basaltic eruption, and possibly formation of a primitive mafic crust. Samples of the Bainaimiao Group greenschist gave a Sm Nd isochron age of 1124.57 Ma(2σ)with ε Nd(t)of+0.7±1.1(2σ),which is in agreement with a previously reported U Pb zircon age of 113. *** of the Bainaimiao granodiorite,which intruded into the Bainaimiao greenschist group gave a Sm Nd isochron age of 4.9±100Ma(2σ)with ε Nd(t)of-2.4.1 7(2σ).This result falls within the metamorphic age range of 3.2-581 Ma of the Bainaimiao greenschist,determined by mineral K Ar methods. The Rb Sr isotope systems in the same suite of rocks have been strongly disturbed. This observation may be consistent with petrographic characteristics, which indicate that all greenschist, amphibolite and granodiorite have undergone Na or K metasomatism to some extent. The initial ratios of the Nd isotopes suggest that the protoliths of both the Baiyinduxi amphibolite and the Bainaimiao greenschist were derived from a higly depleted mantle source. The ε Nd(t) values of the Bainaimiao granodiorite at 4.9 Ma indicate that it might have formed by partial melting of the biotite amphibole plagioclase gneiss,greenschist and/or amphibolite.

Study on Mineralization Age of Xiaoban Gold Deposit, Fujian Province

The Xiaoban gold deposit is a large-size deposit recently found in middlearea of Fujian Province. It belongs to magmatic hydrothermal type occurred in Mayuan Groupmetamorphic rocks of Middle Proterozoic and is controlled by low angle fault (detachment)structures. The contents of Au in Mayuan Group metamorphic rocks, Caledonian-Indosinian deformedgranite and early Yanshanian granite are higher with Au enrichment coefficient of 2. 06-5.68, 5.11and 6.67 than those in other geological bodies. And the higher enrichment coefficients (>2) of Ag,S, Sn and Te are similar to those of gold ore. Meanwhile, the distribution of Au in Mayuan Groupmetamorphic rocks and early Yanshanian granite with a low D-value (0.58 and 0.67) is favorable togold mineralization. REE characteristics of gold ore, ratios of (LREE/HREE), (La/Sm)_n, (Yb/Lu)_n,(La/Tb)_n and (Sm/Nd)_n are similar to Mayuan Group metamorphic rocks, only non or little normal Euabnormal of ore is dissimilar to metamorphic rocks. The δ(^(3.)S) of the gold ore, with a highhomogenization, is (-4.7X10^(-3. - (-2.7X 10^(-3.). The study of inclusion indicates 180-24.℃ ofmineralization temperature, 3. 69 %-11. 81 % of salinities and 0. 869-0.991 g/cm^3.of densities ofmineralization fluid. Based on hydrogen and oxygen isotope (δ(^(18)O) = 11. 0 X 10^(-3. -11.7 X10^(-3., δ(D) = (-4. X 10^(-3.) - (-62 X 10^(-3.)) and initial w(^(87)Sr)/w(^(86)Sr) =0. 715,combining to the analysis of geological history, regional metamorphism and magamtic activity, theauthors confirm that the source for the ore fluid was mainly from magmatic, partly from metamorphicwater, and with a little influence of meteoric water. Isotopic dating made on Rb-Sr isochron age of182 Ma, by using alteration minerals of gold-ores from the deposit, indicates that themineralization occurs in early Yanshanian epoch. This is close to the age of 187 Ma of the Anchunmagmatite with a similar alteration and gold mineralization to the Xiaoban gold deposit. The age ofearly Yanshan

Iron isotopes,together with mineral elemental compositions of spinel peridotite xenoliths and clino-pyroxenites from Hannuoba and Hebi Cenozoic alkaline basalts,were analyzed to investigate iron isotopic features of the lithospheric mantle beneath the North china Craton. The results show that the Hannuoba spinel peridotite xenoliths have small but distinguishable Fe isotopic variations. Overall variations inδFe are in a range of-0.25 to 0.14.o for olivine,-0.17 to 0.17‰for orthopyroxene, -0.21 to 0.27‰for clinopyroxene,and-0.16 to 0.26‰for spinel,*** has the heaviest iron isotopic ratio and olivine the lightest within individual *** clear linear relationships between the mineral pairs on"δ-δ"plot suggest that iron isotopes of mineral separates analyzed have been affected largely by some open system *** broadly negative correlations between mineral iron isotopes and metasomatic indexes such as spinel Cr#,(La/Yb) ratios of clinopyroxenes suggest that iron isotopic variations in different minerals and peridotites were probably produced by mantle metasomatism. The Hebi phlogopite-bearing lherzolite,which is significantly modified by metasomatic events,appears to be much heavier isotopically than clinopyroxene-poor lherzolite. This study further confirms previous conclusions that the lithospheric mantle has distinguishable and heterogeneous iron isotopic variations at the xenoliths scale. Mantle metasomatism is the most likely cause for the iron isotope variations in mantle peridotites.

Located in the eastern portion of the Xing’an-Mongolian Orogenic Belt(XMOB),the Xinkailing-Kele complex has previously been considered to be Precambrian metamorphic rocks,mainly according to its relatively high metamorphic *** filed observation,however,revealed that the complex is composed mainly of metamorphic rocks(Kele complex),tectono-schists("Xinkailing Group"), and granitoids(Xinkailing granitic complex).Dating on these rocks using advanced shrimp zircon U-Pb technique indicates that:(1) Biotite-plagioclase gneiss from the Kele complex has a protolith age of 3.7±7 Ma(2σ) and a metamorphic age of 216±3.Ma(2σ);(2) the tectono-schist of the"Xinkailing Group"gave a magmatic age of 292±6 Ma(2σ),indicative of felsic volcanic protolith of the schist formed in Late Paleozoic time;and(3. the Menluhedingzi and Lengchuan granites of the Xinkailing granitic complex were emplaced at 167±4.2σ) and 164.4.Ma(2σ),*** results suggest that the Xinkailing-Kele complex is not Precambrian metamorphic rocks and the so-called Precambrian"Nenjiang Block"does essentially not *** combination with regional {4. data,we propose that the Kele metamorphic complex is likely related to a collisional tectonism that took place in Triassic time,as indicted by its metamorphic age of 216±3.*** Xinkailing granitic complex was emplaced along the collisional zone during Mid-Jurassic time, likely in a post-orogenic or anorogenic setting.

More than ten Triassic syenite plutons are revealed to be distributed in North Korea along the boundary to South *** Tokdal Complex is one of these but is unique in its incorporation of early pyroxenite cumulate in the clinopyroxene/amphibole/biotite/nepheline-bearing syenite main body.A shrimp U-Pb zircon age of 224.4.Ma was obtained from a biotite syenite sample. Clinopyroxene in pyroxenite is zoned,with either phlogopite and apatite inclusion or ilmenite and magnetite exsolution,and may have resulted from crystallization at high pressure in an active continental margin arc environment followed by ascent and *** pyroxenite and syenite are enriched in light REE and LILE,but strongly depleted in HFSE,with Sr/860Sr values of～0.7115 andεNd values of -14.to -20(t = 224.Ma).The Tokdal Complex could have originated from an enriched lithospheric mantle and undergone assimilation of juvenile materials during differentiation. It indicates an extension of post-collisional magmatism in the Sino-Korean *** complex along with many other Triassic plutons in the Sino-Korean craton together constitute three syenite belts along the northern,southern and eastern margins of the craton,possibly resulting in its final configuration in eastern Asia.

The Ashele Cu-Zn deposit is a typical VMS deposit in chinese Altay located in the southern margin of the Altaid *** deposit occurred in the polyphase fold system,and the main orebody is located at the hinge of the *** orebodies show lenticular form,and are stratabound by a suite of early to middle Devonian bimodal volcanic *** hosting basalt is low K tholeiite and characterized with high Mg,Fe,Ca and low K,*** basalts show flat REE pattern with Ce negative anomaly(Ce/Ce 0.73.0.76).Niobium,Ta, Zr,Hf are depleted and Rb,Ba,Th,U,Sr,Pb are enriched with respect to the *** the Sr and Nd isotopes show depleted properties,while the(Sr/Sr) and theε(t)range from 0.704.9 to 0.704.8 and 4.6 to 5.3.*** geochemical and isotopic data from the hosting basalt show that it originates from an island arc *** also report the S isotope data from the massive orebody,andδS‰change from 1.8‰to 5.6‰.The S isotope data provide evidence that the sulfur originates from a mixing source between magma and seawater *** propose that the mafic magma provides the ore-forming metal and some percentage of sulfur,while it also acts as a heat engine which makes the fluids leach the metal from the underlying volcanic *** the geological characteristics of the Ashele and geochemical data,and comparing with other Cu-Zn VMS deposits in the world,we propose that Ashele formed in *** arc setting.
