A proline-rich protein-encoding cDNA encoded by a rice gene, OsPRP1, was isolated by PCR-mediated RNA subtraction hybridization strategy and rapid amplification of cDNA ends. The deduced protein consists of 2.4 amino acids with the highest level of proline residue (14.2.%). Following the putative signal peptide, OsPRP1 contains two structural domains, of which the N-terminal domain lacks Pro-rich repetitive sequences, and the C-terminal domain has two repetitive proline-rich sequences of 18 amino acid residues with PEPK motifs. Southern blot and sequence analysis show that OsPRP1 exists as four copies in rice genome and is localized in rice chromosome 10. RT-PCR experiments reveal that OsPRP1 is expressed preferentially in spikelets and buds with lower levels in roots and leaves. In situ hybridization indicates that OsPRP1 transcripts are present at high levels in pollen mother cells (PMCs), meiotic PMCs, tapetal cells and vascular bundle cells of flower organs. The expression of OsPRP1 in anthers has temporal specificity. The transcripts are accumulated at high levels in PMCs, at the highest levels in meiotic PMCs and at undetectable levels in uninucleate pollen. In buds the transcripts are only detected in the epidermal cells of coleoptiles and leaf primordial.

The degradation of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) by using gamma rays generated by a 60Co source in the presence of O3.was investigated. The radiolysis of 4-CP and the kinetics of 4-CP min-eralization were analyzed based on the determination of total organic carbon (TOC). The influence of initial 4-CP concentration and the free radicals scavengers (such as NaHCO3.and t-butanol) on the 4-CP degradation was also studied. The results showed that when the radiation rate was 3.6 Gy·min?1, 4-chlorophenol at concentration of 10 mg·L?1 could be completely degraded at the radiation dose of 2.kGy. The degradation of 4-chlorophenol could be described by a first-order reaction model, the rate constant of 4-CP degradation by combined ozonation and radiation was 0.1016 min?1, which was 2.4 times higher than the sum of radiation (0.02.4 min?1) and ozonation (0.013. min?1). It re-vealed that the combination of radiation and ozonation resulted in synergistic effect, which can re-markably increase the degradation efficiency of 4-CP.

The continental volcanic rocks and volcaniclas-tic sedimentary conglomerates of the Cangshuipu Formation occur well in Yiyang of Hunan Province, consisting of a wedge-shaped succession of Neoproterozoic strata that over-lie with high-angle unconformity the flysch turbidites of the Lengjiaxi Group in the Upper Mesoproterozoic Eonothem. SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating gives a weighted mean age of 814 12.Ma for the dacitic volcanic agglomerates from the lowest part of the volcanic rocks in the Cangshuipu Forma-tion. This age is younger than previously reported values of 92.—93. Ma for the volcanic rocks from the Cangshuipu Formation. Our new dating represents the lower boundary age of the Neoproterozoic System in the studied area. The younger age for the Cangshuipu volcanic rocks is supported by the following observations: （1） Lower Neoproterozoic strata （814—1000 Ma） are missing in the studied area; （2. the Nanhua rift system was initiated at about 82. Ma; and （3. an age of82. Ma may be taken as the lower boundary tim-ing of the Nanhua System （even Neoproterozoic） in South {2..

A zinc phthalocyanine containing (17-crown-5) ether subunits has been synthesized UV-visible absorption and fluorescence emission spectra and associated photophysical parameters have been determined. In addition to the fluorescence at 710 nm from S-1, a strong upper excited state emission around 42. nn has been detected. X-ray structural analysis showed that the crown ether unit is conformationally deformed and oblate like that accounted for the unusual spectroscopic properties.

为应对快速的气候变暖,青藏高原高寒草地植物正加速向高海拔或高纬度地区迁移。然而,对物种迁移过程和机制研究的缺乏,严重地制约了我们对气候变暖条件下高寒植物响应与适应的全面认识。本文从种子扩散、种子萌发和幼苗定植以及成熟植株竞争等生活史不同阶段,系统综述了制约植物向高海拔或高纬度地迁移的相关研究,分析了影响高寒草地植物物种迁移的关键过程及影响因素。多数研究认为,高寒草地植物低的种子扩散能力有可能是限制高寒植物向高海拔迁移的主要因素,其次为种子萌发幼苗建植阶段,成熟植株的竞争阶段有可能影响较小。现有研究主要以模型模拟研究为主,今后应加强长期原位定位观测和野外模拟试验,明确影响高寒草地物种迁移的过程及其机制,为模型模拟研究、生物多样性和生态系统功能维持提供理论依据。
