Honokiol inhibits arterial thrombosis through endothelial cell protection and stimulation of prostacyclin

Aim:To study the effect of honokiol on arterial thrombosis and endothelial ***:Rabbit platelet aggregation was performed with Born's turbid *** was produced by the endothelial injury stimulated with electric *** aortic endothelial cells（RAEC）were cultured and cell viability was assessedusing the MTT *** oxide（nO）concentrations in serum-free media ofRAEC were determined using the kinetic cadmium-reduction *** stablemetabolite prostacyclin was measured in serum-free media of RAEC ***:Honokiol（3..6-3.6 lamol/L）decreased rabbit plate-let aggregation in vitro in a concentration-dependent manner,while intravenouslyinjection of honokiol（0.12-12 μg/kg）significantly inhibited rabbit platelet aggre-gation induced by collagen ex *** the electrical current-stimulated carotidthrombosis model in rats,honokiol（5-50 μg/kg,iv）prolonged the thrombus oc-clusion time in a does-dependent *** vitro honokiol（0.3.6-3..6 μmol/L）effectively protected cultured RAEC against oxidized low density lipoprotein（ox-LDL ）injury,and significantly increased 6-keto-PGF1α（the stable metabolite ofprostacyclin）in serum-free media of *** also increased nO level inRAEC serum-free medium at a lower concentration range（0.03.6-0.3.6 μmol/L）,but honokiol 3.76 μmol/L decreased nO ***:Honokiol is a potentarterial thrombosis *** cell protection and the stimulation ofprostacyclin release may be its main anti-thrombosis *** ofnO release in endothelial cells may play a role,but it is not a key factor.

This paper concerns the linearization problem on rational maps of degree d≥2 and polynomials of degree d>2 from the perspective of *** authors introduce a set l_(∞) of irrational numbers and show that if α∈l_(∞),then any rational map is not linearizable and has infinitely many cycles in every neighborhood of the fixed point with multiplier λ=e^(2πiα),Adding more constraints to cubic polynomials,they discuss the above problems by polynomial-like *** the family of polynomials,with the help of Yoccoz's method,they obtain its maximum dimension of the set in which the polynomials are non-linearizable.

Petrogenesis of Songshugou dunite body in the Qinling orogenic belt, Central china: Constraints from geochemistry and melt inclusions

The Songshugou dunite body, which occupies an area of about 20 km2, is the largest ultramafic massif in the eastern Qinling orogenic belt, Central china. The major compo-nent of this body is dunitic rocks including mylonitic dunite and coarse-grained dunite; they oc-cupy about 95 vol% of the total body. Petrography, mineral composition, major and trace ele-ments and primitive melt inclusions have been investigated in this paper; all revealed that this dunite body is the product of melt-rock interaction by porous percolation flow. In comparison with dunite sills or veins in harzburgite from the basal part of Oman ophiolite, this dunite body is characterized by lower contents of Al2O3. CaO and HREE but higher content of highly incom-patible elements and Zr and Hf. The LREE enriched patterns and primitive mantle normalized spidergrams of trace elements are also different from the Oman dunite. Combining with melt in-clusions observed in olivines, we conclude that this dunite body is the product of large- scale porous percolation flow of high-MgO melts within depleted mantle peridotites. The high-MgO magma, in essence, was most probably produced at the hot head of an upwelling mantle plume. The occurrence of the Songshugou dunite body is closely associated with the activity of mantle super-plume in neo-Proterozoic era in the Yangtze Craton.

Changes of decay rates of radioactive ^(111)In and ^(3.)P induced by mechanic motion

The changes of decay rates of radionuclide 111.n(electron capture) and 3.P(β decay) induced by exter-nal mechanic motion are studied. The results indicate that,in the external circular rotation in clockwise and anticlockwise centrifuge on northern Hemisphere(radius 8 cm,2000 r/min) ,the half life of 111.n compared with the referred(2.83.d) is decreased at 2.83. and increased at 1.77%,respectively;the half life of 3.P compared with the referred(14.29 d) is decreased at 3.78% and increased at 1.75%,respec-tively. When the clockwise and anticlockwise rotations increase to 4000 r/min,the half life of 111.n is decreased at 11.3.% and increased at 6.3.%,respectively;the half life of 3.P is decreased at 10.08% and increased at 4.3.%,respectively. When the circular rotation is removed,the decay rates of 111.n and 3.P return back to the referred,respectively. It is found that the external circular rotations in clockwise and anticlockwise centrifuge selectively increased and decreased the decay rates of 111.n and 3.P,respec-tively,and the effects are strongly dependent on the strength of circular rotation. It is suggested that these effects may be caused by the chiral interaction.

Applications of Pattern Recognition in Drug Discovery

This is a brief account of the plenary talk given to the meeting of the Chinese Society of Chemical Science and Technology held in Oxford on 6 October 2001. The talk covered the application of pattern recognition techniques to discover molecules which will bind to the binding sites of proteins. Three situations were considered: the structure of the protein being unknown; the structure known but the binding site unknown; and finally, and this is the most important case for the future, both the structure and nature of the target site available in atomic detail. For this case we have developed a massively distributed computer program using a screensaver which now involves over one million personal computers, including over a thousand in china. The project will involve the screening of 3. 5 billion small molecules against 16 protein targets, all of which are implicated in the process of cancer.

Optimal reactions for the synthesis of superheavy nucleus ^(270)Hs

The superheavy nucleus 270Hs is expected to be a “double-magic” deformed nucleus. We have calculated its cross sections of evaporation residue for the reactions 248Cm(26Mg,4n)270Hs, 244Pu(3.Si,4n)270Hs, 23.U(3.S,4n)270Hs and 226Ra(48Ca,4n)270Hs using a two-parameter Smoluchowski equation. It is found from our results that 226Ra(48Ca,4n)270Hs and 23.U(3.S,4n)270Hs are two optimal reactions for the synthesis of the superheavy nucleus 270Hs due to their large negative Q-values.

Our previous study has demonstrated that CD 146 molecule is a biomarker on vascular endothelium,which is involvedin angiogenesis and tumor *** the mechanism behind is not *** we have for the first time devel-oped a novel CD146 blockade system using CD146 siRnA to study its function on endothelial *** data showedthat CD146 siRnA specifically blocked the expression of CD146 on both mRnA and protein levels,leading to thesignificant suppression of HUVEC proliferation,adhesion and *** results demonstrate that CD146 playsa key role in vascular endothelial cell activity and angiogenesis,and CD146 siRnA can be used as a new inhibitor foranti-angiogenesis therapy.

Resonance Rayleigh scattering study of the interaction of bleomycinA_5 with nucleic acids and its analytical application

The interaction of bleomycinA5 with nucleic acids has been investigated byusing resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS),molecular absorption and fluorescence *** resultshows that in near pH 2.2 buffer medium and absence of any metal ions,nucleic acids are capable ofbinding with bleomycinA5 (BLMA5) to form complexes which can remarkably enhance the RRS intensityand result in batho-chromic and hyperchromic molecular absorption of nucleic acids and fluorescencequenching of *** RRS spectral characteristics for the binding products of bleomycinA5with various DnA and RnA are similar,and the maximum RRS peaks are at 3.1.nm for ctDnA and sDnA,3.0nm for hsDnA,3.0 nm for RnAtypeVI and RnAtypelll,*** increments of RRS intensity aregreatly different in which DnA enhances greatly and RnA enhances *** this work,the optimumconditions of the interaction and some influencing factors have been *** reactionmechanism and a binding model for the interaction of BLMA5 with the nucleic acids are ***,a highly sensitive,simple and rapid new method for the determination of DnA has *** detection limits (3.sigma) are 5.7 ng/mL for ctDnA,7.4 ng/mL for sDnA and 9.2 ng/mLfor hsDnA,*** method can be applied to determination of trace amounts of DnA.

X-ray spectra induced in highly charged 40Ar^q+ interacting with Au surface

By use of optical spectrum technology, the spectra of X-ray induced by highly charged 40Arq+ ions interacting with Au surface have been studied. The results show that the argon Kα X-ray were emitted from the hollow atoms formed below the surface. There is a process of multi-electron exciting in neutralization of the Ar16+ion, with electronic con-figuration 1s2 in its ground state below the solid surface. The yield of the projectile Kα X-ray is related to its initial electronic configuration, and the yield of the target X-ray is related to the projectile kinetic energy.

A modified multi-reference second order perturbation theory

A new scheme with extended model space is proposed to improve the calculation of multi-reference second order perturbation theory (MRPT2). The new scheme preserves the concise code structure of the original program, and avoids intruder states in constructions of the potential energy surface, which is confirmed by a series of comparable calculations. The new MRPT2 program is an available tool for the research of molecular excited states and electronic spectrum.
