Prediction method for October 2003.solar storm

Aiming at two intense shock events on October 28 and 29, 2003. this paper presents a two-step method, which combines synoptic analysis of space weather ——“observing” and quantitative prediction ——“palpating”, and then uses it to test predictions. In the first step of “observing”, on the basis of observations of the solar source surface magnetic field, interplanetary scintillation (IPS) and ACE spacecraft, we find that the propagation of the shocks is asymmetric relative to the normal direction of their solar sources, and the Earth is located near the direction of the fastest speed and the greatest energy of the shocks. As the two fast ejection shock events, the fast explosion of coronal mass of the extremely high temperature, the strong magnetic field, and the high speed background solar wind are also helpful to their rapid propagation. In the second step of “palpating”, we adopt a new membership function of the fast shock events for the ISF method. The predicted results show that for the onset time of the geomagnetic disturbance, the relative errors between the observational and the predicted results are 1.8% and 6.7%; and for the magnetic disturbance magnitude, the relative errors are 4.1% and 3.1%, re- spectively. Furthermore, the comparison among the predicted results of our two-step method with those of five other prevailing methods shows that the two-step method is advantageous. The results tell us that understanding the physical features of shock propagation thoroughly is of great importance in improving the prediction precision.

Syntheses,characterization,crystal structure and magnetic properties of copper(Ⅱ) α,β-unsaturated carboxylate complexes with trimethyl phosphate

Two ternary complexes Cu2A4[OP(OCH3.3.2 (A represents CH2=CH-COO- and CH2=C(CH3.-COO-) have been synthesized, and elemental analyses, IR, ESR, electronic reflectance spectra and magnetic studies were carried out. The single crystal X-ray diffraction shows that Cu2[CH2=C(CH3.-COO]4[OP(OCH3.3.2 is triclinic, with space group P1, a = 1.05128(13., b = 1.7559(5), c = 1.94479(3. nm, α =91.263.14)°,(β = 102.559(6)°,γ= 106.3.9(13.°, Z = 4 and R = 0.0668. Two copper(Ⅱ) atoms are bridged by four (a-methacrylate groups, and each copper(Ⅱ) atom is coordinated with a trimethyl phosphate molecule in the axial position, forming a distorted square pyramidal configuration. The symmetric center is between the two copper(Ⅱ) atoms, and the Cu-Cu bond distance is 0.26098(6) nm. The Cu-Cu distance and magnetic studies suggest that there exist anti-ferromagnetic interactions between the two copper(Ⅱ) atoms.

3. mathematical model for suspended load transport by turbulent flows and its applications

This paper presents a 3. mathematical model for suspended load transport in turbulent flows. Based on Dous stochastic theory of turbulent flow, numerical schemes of Reynolds stresses for anisotropic turbulent flows were obtained. A refined wall function was employed to treat solid wall boundaries. The equations for 2D suspended load motion and sorting of bed material have been expanded into 3. cases. Numerical results are validated by the measured data of the Gezhouba Project, and proved to be in good agreement with the experimental. The present method has been employed to simulate sediment erosion and deposition in the dam area of Three Gorges Project, and for the operation of the project, siltation process and deposition pattern in the near-dam area of the reservoir, size distribution of the deposits and bed material, and flow fields and sediment concentration fields at different time and elevations are predicted. The predicted results are close to the experimental observations in physical model studies. Thus, a new method is established for 3. simulation of sediment motion in dam areas of multi-purpose water projects.

Geothermal and fluid flowing simulation of ore-forming antimony deposits in Xikuangshan

The Xikuangshan Antimony Deposit located in the Mid-Hunan Basin, china, is the larg- est antimony deposit in the world. Based on the hydrogeological and geochemical data collected from four sections, Xikuangshan-Dajienao (AO), Xikuangshan-Dashengshan (BO), Xikuang- shan-Longshan (CO) and Dafengshan (DO) in the Basin, an advanced metallogenic model related to deep-cyclic meteoric water of Xikuangshan Antimony Deposit is put forward in this paper using a model of heat-gravity-driving fluid flow transportation. The simulation results show that the ore-forming fluid of the deposit mainly comes from the Dashengshan and Longshan areas where BO and CO sections are located if the overall basin keeps a constant atmospheric precipitation and infiltration rate during mineralization, and that the average transportation speed of the ore-forming fluids is about 0.2―0.4 m/a.

Quantitativ　estructure－activity　relationships　for　studying　alkyl（1－phenylsulfonyl）　cycloalkane－carboxylates

Octanol/water partition coefficients,adsorption coefficients for soils and sediments and acute toxicities to Daphnia magna of 28 alkyl (1-phenylsulfonyl) cycloalkane-carboxylates were measured. These properties were correlated by linear solvation energy relationship (LSER) and chromatographic retention data determined by reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The accuracy and range of applicability of these two quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) methods were compared in this paper.

Timing and history of marine hydrocarbon accumulation in Tarim craton

Based on the analyses of hydrocarbon inclu-sions, K-Ar dating of authigenic illites and oil/gas-watercontact retrospection as well as other methods, the marineprimary reservoirs in the cratonic region of the Tarim Basinare found to have been formed in the late Caledonian toearly Hercynian, late Hercynian, and Himalayan, and oil andgas adjusted and redistributed in the Yanshanian (Jurassic toCretaceous) and Himalayan (Tertiary). The analyses alsoshow that the remaining primary oil accumulations aremostly formed in the late Hercynian, and the secondary oilreservoirs resulted from the adjustment and redistribution ofthe earlier accumulations during the Yanshanian and Hima-layan (especially late Himalayan), of which the Himalayan isalso the major stage of gas accumulation. The primary oilreservoirs formed in the late Hercynian mostly occur withinthe Paleozoic formation, whereas the secondary reservoirsformed in the Himalayan in the Mesozoic. The late adjust-ment and redistribution of reservoirs in the craton region ofthe Tarim Basin is ubiquitous because of the intensified tec-tonic movements since the Mesozoic, especially Cenozoic andintrusion of the high- to over-mature gas. Furthermore, thelower amplitude of reservoirs in the craton region also makesthem easier to be adjusted and redistributed. Therefore, theremaining paleo-uplift and palaeo-slope developed in rela-tively stable tectonic regions are the main potential areas forthe middle-large marine reservoirs in the Tarim Basin.

Features of aerosol optical depth and its relation to extreme temperatures in china during 1980–2001

Based on Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer （TOMS） monthly aerosol optical thickness （AOT） measurements in 1980–2001 a study is made of space/time patterns and difference between land and sea of AOT 0.50 μm thick over china,which are put into correlation analysis with synchronous extreme temperature indices （warm/cold day and night）.Results suggest that 1） the long-term mean AOT over china is characterized by typical geography,with pronounced land-sea *** AOT has significant seasonality and its seasonal difference is diminished as a function of latitude.2） On the whole,the AOT displays an appreciably increasing trend,with the distinct increase in the eastern Qinghai-Tibetan plateau and SW china,North china,the mid-lower Changjiang （MiLY） valley as well as the South china Sea,but marginal decrease over western/northern Xinjiang and part of South china.3. The AOT over land and sea is marked by conspicuous intra-seasonal and -yearly oscillations,with remarkable periods at one-,two-yr and more （as interannual periods）.4） Land AOT change is well correlated with extremely temperature ***,the correlations of AOT to the extreme temperature indices are more significant in Eastern china with 110 ° E as the *** high-correlation regions are along the Southern china coastline,the Loess Plateau and the Sichuan Basin,and even higher in North china Plain and the mid-lower Changjiang River reaches.5） Simulations of LMDZ-regional model indicate that aerosol effects may result in cooling all over china,particularly in Eastern *** contribution of aerosol change may result in more decrease in the maximum temperature than the minimum,with decrease of 0.11/0.08 K for zonal average,respectively.

An algorithm for solving the graph isomorphism problem with 3.D DNA structures is proposed in this paper. The k-armed branched junction molecules are used to code k-degree vertices. Double stranded molecules are used to code edges. Then the molecules are mixed in a tube to be ligated. The result can be detected by gel electrophoresis. The time complexity of the algorithm is O(n2), where n is the number of vertices of the graph.

L-R smash products for bimodule algebras

In this paper, we prove that the L-R smash product A(?)H is exactly the twisted smash product A * H if H is a finite dimensional cocommutative Hopf algebra, and give a sufficient and necessary condition for L-R smash products to be bialgebras (Hopf algebras) . For any finite dimensional coquasitriangular Hopf algebra (H,σ), we prove that the L-R smash product H(?)H is semisimple Artinian if H is semisimple and H * is unimodular. In particular, the L-R smash product D(H)* (?)D(H)* semisimple Artinian if the Drin-fel'd double D(H) is semisimple.
