Taurine is a sulfur-containing,semi-essential amino acid that occurs naturally in the *** alternates between inflammation and oxidative stress-mediated injury in various disease *** part of its limiting functions,taurine also modulates endoplasmic reticulum stress,Ca^(2+)homeostasis,and neuronal activity at the molecular *** effectively protects against a number of neurological disorders,including stro ke,epilepsy,cerebral ischemia,memory dysfunction,and spinal cord *** various therapies are available,effective management of these disorders remains a global *** 3. million people are affected *** design of taurine fo rmation co uld lead to potential drugs/supplements for the health maintenance and treatment of central nervous system *** general neuroprotective effects of taurine and the various possible underlying mechanisms are discussed in this *** article is a good resource for understanding the general effects of taurine on various *** the strong evidence for the neuropharmacological efficacy of taurine in various experimental paradigms,it is concluded that this molecule should be considered and further investigated as a potential candidate for neurotherapeutics,with emphasis on mechanism and clinical studies to determine efficacy.

Newcastle disease (ND) virus is a leading threat to commercial and domestic poultry in Pakistan. The virus infects and constitutes irreversible impairment to the nervous system, damages the respiratory system, and marks severe gastrointestinal lesions leading to heavy mortality in short-living birds and substantial losses in layers and breeders. The continuous emergence and evolution of the virus made it inclined to evade the humoral response and indirectly the circumvention of artificial active immunization. Newcastle disease is caused by the orthoavula genus of the paramyxoviridae family and has shown high genetic diversity even in their genotypes while information regarding enzootic trends of the virus is scanty in Pakistan. A total of 40 tracheal samples of NDV were collected from different commercial broiler farms and 1. isolates of NDV were identified. In the current study, we determined the genetic diversity of the Newcastle disease virus based on the partial sequencing of the fusion protein gene available in the NCBI database. Genetic analysis showed that seven isolates belonged to class I genotype VII and four belonged to class II genotype II. Interestingly, two isolates had epidemiological connections with vaccine-like class II genotype II. Our findings, concerning the recent outbreaks of class I genotype VII and class II genotype II of NDV in vaccinated commercial flocks, suggest possible potential partial mutations in the fusion protein gene. Genetic diversity and formation of the new cleavage site in an important neutralizing protein of wild strain are linked with the potency of artificial active immunization and a major cause of vaccine failure.

Seasonal influence on the developmental ability of porcine embryos was studied by comparisons of the number of cumulus-oocytes-complexes (COCs) per ovary pair and meiotic maturation ability of oocytes in different seasons; and by the observations on developmental competence of the parthenogenetic oocytes and cloned embryos collected from different seasons. We found that the number of COCs per ovary pairs was significantly higher in spring compared to the other seasons (P<0.05). However, no significant difference was found in the rate of oocytes progressing to MⅡ in four seasons (P<0.05). In addition, the rate of blastocyst formation of parthenogenetic embryos in summer was obviously declined compared to the other seasons (P<0.05), and an increased blastocyst rate of cloned porcine embryos was found in spring compared to autumn and winter (P<0.05). The results suggest that there should be a seasonal influence on the developmental competence of porcine embryos.

This paper describes the results of numerical modelling of wave disturbance in the harbor of Ronne, Denmark, using the hydrodynamic modelling System 21.of the danish Hydraulic {1.. The name of the system indicates that it can be applied to unsteady 2-dimensional flow in 1.layer. It includes the so-called "Boussinesq" terms, which account for the deviation from hydrostatic pressure distribution caused by the vertical accelerations. It can simulate the phenomena of diffraction, refraction, reflection, and shoaling of natural irregular waves in a harbor of arbitrary shape and bathymetry. Comparisons have been made between the disturbance coefficients of numerical modelling and those of physical modelling and also between the former and those of field measuring data. The results indicate that there is in general a good agreement between them.

COMPARISON OF TWO METHODS TO INCREASE TIP CLEARANCE AND ITS EFFECT ON PERFORMANCE OF TURBOCHARGER CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR STAGE

Tip clearance between the blade tip and casing of a centrifugal compressor can be varied through two methods： by changing the blade height （MI） or by changing the casing diameter （M2）. Numerical simulations are carried out to compare these two methods and their effect on the stage and impeller performance. The impeller and diffuser are connected through rotor stator boundary using frozen rotor approach. Overall stage performance and the flow configuration have been investigated for nine tip clearance levels from no gap to 1.mm. Impeller and diffuser performances are also presented separately. It has been found that the overall and impeller performance are comparatively better for MI below tip clearance of 0.5 mm whereas M2 is found advantageous above 0.5 mm of tip clearance. Both MI and M2 show performance degradation with the increase in tip clearance. Two models have been proposed for the stage total pressure ratio and efficiency, which are found to be in agreement with experimental results. The impeller efficiency and the pressure ratio are found to be maximum at tip clearance of 0.1.mm for both the cases however minimum diffuser effectiveness is also observed at the same clearance level. Diffuser effectiveness is found to be maximum at zero gap for both cases. As it is practically impossible to have zero gap for unshrouded impellers so it is concluded that the optimum thickness is 0.5 mm onwards for MI and 0.5 mm for M2 in terms of diffuser effectiveness. Mass averaged flow parameters, entropy, blade loading diagram and relative pressure fields are presented, showing the loss production within the impeller passage with tip clearance.

Waste heat recovery from heavy-duty diesel engine exhaust gases by medium temperature ORC system

A medium-temperature waste-heat recovery system based on the organic Rankine cycle (ORC) is designed to recover the exhaust energy from a heavy-duty diesel engine. Analysis of the 1.t law of thermodynamics for an ORC system is performed. This analysis contains two parts. The first part is an analysis with undefined heat exchangers to gain an understanding of the ORC and find out suitable organic fluid parameters for a better ORC efficiency. The second part of the analysis uses combined engine test results and two designs of heat exchangers. By comparing the two designs, an improved system of heat exchangers is described. This analysis also quantifies the effect of engine parameters on ORC system. The study concludes that the supercritical Rankine cycle is a better approach towards waste heat recovery. The ORC system is found to perform better under part-load conditions if the medium-high power condition rather than rated working point of the engine is used as the design parameter. The ORC system achieves the highest waste-heat recovery efficiency of up to 1.-1.% for the optimised heat ex-changer design.

Effect of Gas Velocity on the Dust Sediment Layer in the Coupled Field of Corona Plasma and Cyclone

A dust sediment layer was found on the outer tube wall when the ESCP （electrostatic centrifugal precipitator） trapped diesel particulates or ganister sand. The Compton back scatter method was used to measure the sediment thickness during the experiment. The effect of the inlet gas velocity on the dust sediment layer was investigated. PIV （Particle Image Velocimetry） was used to measure the velocity field between the inner barb tube wall and the outer tube wail. Experiments showed that the thickness of the sediment increased with time, and the sediment layer at the lower end was much thicker than that at the upper end. The agglomeration on the outer tube wall could be removed when the inlet gas velocity was increased to a certain value.

Coarse-grained subaqueous fans are vital oil and gas exploration targets in the Bohai Bay basin,*** insufficient understanding of their sedimentary processes,depositional patterns,and controlling factors restricts efficient exploration and ***-grained subaqueous fans in the Yong′an area,Dongying Depression,are investigated in this *** fans include nearshore subaqueous fans,and sublacustrine fans,and their sedimentary processes,depositional patterns and distribution characteristics are mainly controlled by tectonic activity and *** subaqueous fans developed near the boundary fault during the early–middle deposition stage due to strong tectonic activity and large topographic *** sublacustrine fans developed at the front of the nearshore subaqueous fans in the area where the topography changed from gentle to steep along the source *** the topography was gentle,sublacustrine fans did not *** the late weak tectonic activity stage,late sublacustrine fans developed with multiple stages *** fault activity and related earthquakes steepened the basin margin,and the boundary fault slopes were 25.9°–3.°.During the early–middle deposition stage,hyperpycnal flows triggered by outburst floods *** the late deposition stage,with weak tectonic activity,seasonal floods triggered hyperpycnal flows,and hybrid event beds developed distally.
