With the hypothesis that all independent degrees of freedom of basic building blocks should be treated equally on the same footing and correlated by a possible maximal symmetry, we arrive at a 4-dimensional space-time unification model. In this model the basic building blocks are Majorana fermions in the spinor repre- sentation of 14-dimensional quantum space-time with a gauge symmetry GM4D = SO(1,3.×SU(3.)×U(1)A×SU(3.F. The model leads to new physics including mirror particles of the standard model. It enables us to issue some fundamental questions that include: why our living space-time is 4-dimensional, why parity is not con- served in our world, how the stability of proton is, what the origin of CP violation is and what the dark matter can be.

Like Euclid, Riemann and Lobachevski geometries are on an almost equal footing, based on the principle of relativity of maximum symmetry proposed by Professor Lu Qikeng and the postulate on invariant universal constants c and R, the de Sitter/anti-de Sitter (dS/AdS) special relativity on dS/AdS-space with radius R can be set up on an almost equal footing with Einstein’s special relativity on the Minkowski-space in the case of R→∞.Thus the dS-space is coin-like: a law of inertia in Beltrami atlas with Beltrami time simultaneity for the principle of relativity on one side, and the proper-time simultaneity and a Robertson-Walker-like dS-space with entropy and an accelerated expanding S 3.fitting the cosmological principle on another side.If our universe is asymptotic to the Robertson-Walker-like dS-space of R ? (3.Λ)1/2, it should be slightly closed in O(Λ) with entropy bound S ? 3.c 3.k B /ΛG?. Contrarily, via its asymptotic behavior, it can fix on Beltrami inertial frames without ‘an argument in a circle’ and acts as the origin of inertia.There is a triality of conformal extensions of three kinds of special relativity and their null physics on the projective boundary of a 5-d AdS-space, a null cone modulo projective equivalence [ $ \mathcal{N} $ ] ? ? P (AdS 5). Thus there should be a dS-space on the boundary of S 5 × AdS 5 as a vacuum of supergravity.In the light of Einstein’s ‘Galilean regions’, gravity should be based on the localized principle of relativity of full maximum symmetry with a gauge-like dynamics. Thus, this may lead to the theory of gravity of corresponding local symmetry. A simple model of dS-gravity characterized by a dimensionless constant g ?(ΛG?/3. 3.1/2 ～ 10?61 shows the features on umbilical manifolds of local dS-invariance. Some gravitational effects out of general relativity may play a role as dark matter.The dark universe and its asymptotic behavior may already indicate that the dS special relativity and dS-gravity be the foundati

The strong decays of the N*(153.) resonance are investigated in an extended chiral quark model by including the low-lying $ qqqq\bar q $ components in addition to the qqq component. The results show that these five-quark components in N*(153.) contribute significantly to the N*(153.) → Nπ and N*(153.) → Nη decays. The contributions to the Nη decay come from both the lowest energy and the next-tolowest energy five-quarks components, while the contributions to the Nπ decay come from only the latter one. Taking these contributions into account, the description for the strong decays of N*(153.) is improved, especially for the puzzling large ratio of the decays to Nη and Nπ.

The strongest signal of plant promoter is searched with the model of single motif with two types. It turns out that the dominant type is the TATA-box. The other type may be called TATA-less signal, and may be used in gene finders for promoter recognition. While the TATA signals are very close for the monocot and the dicot, their TATA-less signals are significantly different. A general and flexible multi-motif model is also proposed for promoter analysis based on dynamic programming. By extending the Gibbs sampler to the dynamic programming and introducing temperature, an efficient algorithm is developed for searching signals in plant promoters.

We examine various direct and indirect constraints on the lepton-specific two-Higgs doublet model and discuss its phenomenology at colliders in the allowed parameter *** constraints we consider come from the precision electroweak data,the direct search for Higgs boson,the muon anomalous magnetic moment,as well as some theoretical consistency *** find that in the allowed parameter space the CP-odd Higgs boson A is rather light (m A 3. GeV with 95% possibility),which is composed dominantly by the leptonic Higgs and decays dominantly into τ + τ;while the SM-like Higgs boson h (responsible largely for electroweak symmetry breaking) decays dominantly in the mode h → AA → 4τ with a large decay width,which will make the Higgs discovery more difficult at the ***,this scenario predicts rare Z decays Z → AAA and Z →τ + τA with their branching ratios ranging from 10-8 to 10-and 10-5 to 10-4 respectively,which may be accessible at the GigaZ option of the ILC.

The quantum-spectrum function is introduced by means of the eigenvalues and the eigenfunctions in the system of varying rectangular billiards. It is found that the Fourier transform of the quantum-spectrum function corresponds with the classical orbits in the system. These results give new evidence about the classical-quantum correspondence.

According to the method of path integral quantization for the canonical constrained system in Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin scheme, the supersymmetric electromagnetic interaction system was quantized. Both the Hamiltonian of the supersymmetric electromagnetic interaction system in phase space and the quantization procedure were simplified. The BRST generator was constructed, and the BRST transforma- tions of supersymmetric fields were gotten; the effective action was calculated, and the generating functional for the Green function was achieved; also, the gauge generator was constructed, and the gauge transformation of the system was ob- tained. Finally, the Ward-Takahashi identities based on the canonical Noether theorem were calculated, and two relations between proper vertices and propaga- tors were obtained.

The dynamical properties of Rydberg hydrogen atom near a metal surface are presented by using the methods of phase space analysis and closed orbit theory. Transforming the coordinates of the Hamiltonian, we find that the phase space of the system is divided into vibrational and rotational region. Both the Poincaré surface of section and the closed orbit theory verify the same conclusion clearly. In this paper we choose the atomic principal quantum number as n = 20. The dynamical character of the exited hydrogen atom depends sensitively on the atom-surface distance d. When d is sufficiently large, the atom-surface potential can be expressed by the traditional van der Waals force and the system is integrable. When d becomes smaller, there exists a critical value dc. For d > dc, the system is near-integrable and the motion is regular. While chaotic motion appears for d < dc, and the system tends to be non-integrable. The trajectories become unstable and the electron might be captured onto the metal surface.
