The continental volcanic rocks and volcaniclas-tic sedimentary conglomerates of the Cangshuipu Formation occur well in Yiyang of Hunan Province, consisting of a wedge-shaped succession of Neoproterozoic strata that over-lie with high-angle unconformity the flysch turbidites of the Lengjiaxi Group in the Upper Mesoproterozoic Eonothem. shrimp zircon U-Pb dating gives a weighted mean age of 814 12.Ma for the dacitic volcanic agglomerates from the lowest part of the volcanic rocks in the Cangshuipu Forma-tion. This age is younger than previously reported values of 92.—9{2. Ma for the volcanic rocks from the Cangshuipu Formation. Our new dating represents the lower boundary age of the Neoproterozoic System in the studied area. The younger age for the Cangshuipu volcanic rocks is supported by the following observations: （1） Lower Neoproterozoic strata （814—1000 Ma） are missing in the studied area; （2. the Nanhua rift system was initiated at about 82. Ma; and （{2. an age of82. Ma may be taken as the lower boundary tim-ing of the Nanhua System （even Neoproterozoic） in South china.

shrimp dating of the Bangong Lake SSZ-type ophiolite: Constraints on the closure time of ocean in the Bangong Lake-Nujiang River,northwestern Tibet

The Bangong Lake ophiolite is located in the westernmost part of the Bangong Lake-Nujiang River suture zone. It is a tectonic mélange consisting of numerous individual blocks of peridotite, pillowed and massive lavas and mafic dykes with SSZ-type ophiolitic geochemical affinity formed at the end of a Wilson circle. The shrimp U-Pb ages of the co-magmatic zircon domains from one gabbroic dyke (Sample 01Y-155) range from 162.5±8.6 Ma to 177.1±1.4 Ma with an average of 167.0±1.4 Ma (n = 12. MSWD = 1.2., suggesting that the subduction of the Bangong Lake Neo-Tethyan Ocean started before the Middle Jurassic. It is inferred that the tectonic transform from spreading to subduction of the Neo-Tethyan Ocean began before the Middle Jurassic in the Bangong Lake area.

Chaotiehe gabbroic intrusion in the eastern part of Liaoning Province was dated by the zircon shrimp U-Pb *** results gave an emplacement age of 12.±4 Ma,indicating that the intrusion thus formed during the lithospheric thinning of the North{2. Geochronology of middle Neoproterozoic volcanic deposits in Yangtze Craton interior of South china and its implications to tectonic settings

Here we report new shrimp dating results of the crystal tuff in Ejiaao Formation of middle Banxi Group in northern Guizhou. The results indicate that the volcanic deposition occurred at ~780 Ma. We also suggests that the igneous activities across Yangtze Craton with diabase dyke swarms and basal volcanic rocks during middle Banxi time are indicative of the episodic, extensive and vigorous great bimodal igneous events during middle Neoproterozoic (82.-72. Ma) in South china. The characteristics of the igneous series are contrary to the model claiming they are of island-arc origin, but suggest that they are the records of rifting process and may be related to the episodic plume activities leading to the break-up of Rodinia.

＜正＞ The early aged ophiolites have attracted the studying from many geologists in recent decades （Colombo C. G. et al, 2.01, Scarrow J. H. et al., Timothy M. Kusky et al., 2.01.....）, because the early aged ophiolites can provide the information about the ancient oceanic processes relevant to the evolution of the plate tectonics in the early period of the earth, and also concem such problems as whether there existed a "Protero-Tethys" and the break-up and convergence of the Rodinia Supercontinent in the NW Tibet plateau. This paper reveals a definite complete ophiolite, the "Kudi- ophiolite" of late-Proterozoic-early Paleozoic, in the Westem Kunlun Mtns, NW. Tibet plateau, and reports the recent isotopic ages of 510±4Ma. And 502.13.a （U-Pb ratio in zircon） for the middle and upper portions of the mafic cumulates of the Kudi-ophiolite, operated at the most powerful dating tool, the shrimp-Ⅱ. The geochemical and geochronological data integrating with the {2. setting suggest that the Kudi-ophiolite might have formed in an Archipelago not in a vast oceanic basin, the so-called Protero-Tethys, and was tectonically emplaced during the early Paleozoic in the NW. Tibet plateau.

A report is presented of shrimp zircon U-Pb dating data of meta-igneous and meta-sedimentary rocks of the Xinghuadukou Group(Xinlin-Hanjiayuanzi area,Heilongjiang Province) and meta-volcanic rocks of the Zhalantun Group(Zhalantun district,Inner Mongolia).The shrimp analyses show that the meta-igneous rocks from the Xinghuadukou Group formed at 506±10 -547±46 Ma,belonging to Early-Middle Precambrian,whereas the meta-sedimentary rocks yielded detrital zircons,with ages of 1.0 - 1.2.1.6 - 1.8 and 2.5 - 2.6 Ga,indicative of deposition age at least2.*** data suggest that both the Xinghuadukou and Zhalantun Groups formed during Cambrian and/or Neoproterozoic time,rather than Paleoproterozoic time as previously *** Precambrian inherited zircons in the meta-igneous rocks and numerous Precambrian detrital zircons in the meta-sedimentary rocks imply that these rocks were formed proximal to older *** is inferred that the Xinghuadukou and Zhalantun Groups represent Cambrian and/or Neoproterozoic volcano -sedimentary sequences formed in an active continental margin setting.

We propose that inherited Neoproterozoic zircons in Mesozoic igneous rocks from the eastern portion of the North china craton(NCC) were initially derived from the Yangtze/South china block,rather than from the NCC *** mechanism that introduced these zircons into the NCC was likely tectonic underplating during Triassic continental subduction/collision of the Yangtze block beneath the *** addition of abundant crustal materials represented by the exotic zircons,probably along the Moho or weak interfaces within the NCC crust,led to the crustal thickening of the *** sialic materials contributed significantly to the Mesozoic igneous rocks, either as source rocks or as contaminants of magmas generated during an extensional environment following crustal *** thickening was spatially linked to lithospheric thinning,with both occurring mainly in the eastern segment of the NCC, suggestive of an intrinsic relationship between thickening and thinning events during Mesozoic evolution of the NCC.

The shrimp U-Pb ages of detrital zircon from the oldest Mesozoic strata, the Fanghushan Fomation, in the Hefei Basin range from 2.0 Ma to ca. 2.00 Ma, which indicates that the Dabie Orogen as the early Jurassic sedimentary provenance was complex. The composition of the Dabie Orogen includes: the Triassic high pressure-ultrahigh pressure metamorphic rocks, of which the detrital zircon ages are from 2.1} Ma to 2.0 Ma; the rocks possibly related to the Qinling and Erlangping Groups representing the southern margin of the Sino-Korean craton in the Qinling and Dabie area, of which the detrital zircon has an age of 481-3.8 Ma; the Neoproterozoic rocks originated from the Yangtze croton, of which the detrital zircon ages are 799-72. Ma old; and the rocks with the detrital zircon ages of ca. 2.00 Ma and ca. 2.00 Ma, which could be the old basement of the Yangtze craton.

The Xilin Gol Complex,consisting of deformed and metamorphosed rocks,was exposed as a large geological unit within the Central Asian Orogenic Belt,but its forming and subsequent deformed and metamorphic time has been an issue of little *** analyses and shrimp dating on biotite-plagioclase gneiss,one of the major rocks within the Xilin Gol Complex,in southeast Xilinhot City,Inner Mongolia,{2.,where the Xilin Gol Complex was identified and named,yield its lower limit age of 43.±3.Ma(2.)by its magmatic zircon shrimp U-Pb dating,and an upper limit age of 3.6±3.a(2.),which was constrained by shrimp dating of magmatic zircons from adjacent undeformed garnet-bearing granite which intruded the Complex. The Complex was thus determined to be formed and subsequently deformed/metamorphosed from the late Ordovician -early Silurian to the ***,it is not the Precambrian terrane as previously considered by most *** or less,the major rock——biotiteplagioclase gneiss within the Complex is more likely to be Paleozoic fore-arc turbidite formation before metamorphism and intensive deformation,in which the detrital zircons gave sporadic Precambrian ages as old as up to 3.1 *** source of the turbidite formation is multiple,which may be derived either from the North china Craton,or from the South-Mongolia Micro-continent,or probably came from a potential and undiscovered in situ terranes aged 600—800 Ma or even up to ca 3.1 Ga near the Complex.
