Effects of PKCa antisense RNA on human breast cancer cell proliferation and expression of cyclinD1 and CDK4

The role of PKCα in human breast cancer cell proliferation and expression of cyclinD1 and CDK4 has been investigated using inhibition of PKCα expression by its antisense RNA. When PKCα expression was inhibited the rate of cell proliferation decreased apparently and the levels of cyclinD1 and CDK4 mRNA were lower than the control. The results showed that PKCα, a key member of signal transduction system, played an important role in human breast cancer cell proliferation and had a close relationship with expression of cyclinD1 and CDK4 which control start of cell cycle.

The LaMn1-xTexO3+δ (x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3) were synthesized using solid-state reaction method for the first time. X-ray photoemission spectrum (XPS) shows that in the samples the Te ions have a valence of Te4+, and Mn3+ ions are partly converted into Mn2+ and Mn4+ due to the excess oxygen and Te doping. The magnetotransport associated with Mn2+, Mn3+ and Mn4+ was investigated. The experimental results show that the samples are insulator at 0 T when the amount of Mn3+ is much larger or less than the sum of Mn2+ and Mn4+; by contrast, the samples display metal to insulator transition with increasing temperature when the amount of Mn3+ is close to the sum of Mn2+ and Mn4+. These anomalous magnetotransport behaviors were analyzed in the frame of the double-exchange (DE) mechanism.

Associated with each finite directed quiver Q is a quasi-hereditary algebra. the so-called twisted double of the path algebra kQ. Characteristic tilting modules over this class of quasi-hereditary algebras are constructed. Their endonorphism algebras are explicitly described. It turns out that this class of quasi-hereditary algebras is closed under taking the Ringel dual.

Marker-assisted selection(MAS) is an important modern breeding technique,but it has been found that the effect of the markers for quantitative trait loci(QTL) is inconsistent,leading in some cases to MAS failure and raising doubts about its *** the model organism Drosophila melanogaster was employed to study whether an effective marker could be found and applied to *** crossed the stock carrying the y0 marker(a recessive mutation allele of the yellow gene on the X chromosome) with three other stocks carrying corresponding wild-type markers in an F2 design,and found that the y0 marker was in significant association with low body weight(P3% and 7%,in female and male,respectively,compared to the wild stock(P<0.0001).This indicated that there must be a single QTL for low body weight that is tightly linked to the y0 *** then shortened the introgressed fragment to less than 1.5 cM by a deeper MAI using the y0 marker and the white *** narrower fragment also resulted in a similar decrease in body weight to that induced by y0(OR)20,indicating that the QTL for low body weight is located within this less-than-1.5 cM *** characteristics of the y0 marker by PCR amplification and Southern blotting revealed that yellow gene was deficient in the y0 stock,leading to disappearance of melanin from the cuticle and probably influencing the developmental *** above results confirmed the existence of effective QTL markers applicable to MAS breeding schemes,and their potential application in breeding new stocks.

Energy imbalance is a common problem associated with the measurement of surface energy using the eddy covariance *** the evaluation of the energy balance,people usually pay more attention to the statistical result that the effective energy(the sum of sensible and latent heat) is systematically lower than the available energy(the difference of net radiation and ground heat flux).However,little attention has been paid to the existence of the reversed situation when the effective energy is larger than the available energy or their contribution to the overall energy closure *** this paper,based on the analysis of the energy balance on multiple time scales across the maize growth season,we conclude that the non-synchronization of energy components is the main reason for the existence of the reversed *** shifting the phase of the effective energy components half an hour ahead,the rates of energy closure over all time scales are improved and dramatically reduce the number of the half-hourly samples when the energy ratio exceeds 1 or is below *** to the characteristics of the energy distribution and transformation over multiple time scales,latent heat is always the main type of energy cost,and the residual of the energy balance increases with the growth of the maize plant surpassing the sensible heat for seventy *** is suggested that the heat storage and photosynthetic energy play an important role in the energy balance during the growing period of maize.

Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was applied to investigate theevolution of dislocation configuration and strain induced precipitation behavior during relaxationprocess after deformation in Fe-Ni-Nb-Ti-C-B alloy. Experimental results indicate that thedislocation density is very high and distribute randornly before relaxation. As the relaxation timeincreasing, dislocation cells will form gradually by polygonization. The strain inducedprecipitation retards the progress. In the final relaxation stage, most dislocations get rid ofpinning of precipitates and the cells have developed into subgrains with large size.

china is experiencing a process of rapid industrialization and urbanization at the cost of agricultural land and environment, particularly in the costal *** study takes Jinan as a case presenting a time-series analysis of urban land expansion from 313 to *** results show that the urban expansion of Jinan city mainly took place in the last 100 years,especially after the economic reform in *** development and economic growth, urban population growth and migration policies were factors driving the urban land *** sprawl resulted in a disappearance of wetlands and a great loss of agricultural land,and over-pumping of ground water that led to disappearance of the city's feature, namely"the city of springs".

The role of CDK4 in human breast cancer cell proliferation and expression of cyclinD1, cyclinE and CDK2 has been investigated using inhibition of CDK4 expression by antisense RNA. When CDK4 expression was inhibited, the rate of cell proliferation and tumorigenecity decreased *** indicates that CDK4 plays an important role in formation and development of breast tumor. The resuits of Northern blot analysis showed that the levels of cyclinD1 and CDK2 mRNAs changed slightly whereas the level of cyclinE mRNA decreased obviously. It is suggested that the expression of CDK4 is necessary for induction of cyclinE expression. Thus, inhibition of CDK4 expression affects not only the role of CDK4 itself but also the role of other genes.

Extraction of impervious surfaces is one of the necessary processes in urban change *** paper derived a unified conceptual model (UCM) from the vegetation-impervious surface-soil (VIS) model to make the extraction more effective and *** uses the decision tree algorithm with indices of spectrum and texture,*** this model,we found both dependent and independent indices for multi-source satellite imagery according to their similarity and *** purpose of the indices is to remove the other land-use and land-cover types (e.g.,vegetation and soil) from the imagery,and delineate the impervious surfaces as the *** has the same steps conducted by decision tree *** Landsat-5 TM image (30 m) and the Satellite Probatoire d’Observation de la Terre (SPOT-4) image (20 m) from Chaoyang District (beijing) in 2007 were used in this *** results show that the overall accuracy in Landsat-5 TM image is 88%,while 86.75% in SPOT-4 *** is an appropriate method to meet the demand of urban change detection.
