N-way blending problem of circular quadrics

A method of blending circular quadrics with parametric patches is proposed in this paper. It needs n rational bi-cubic B′ezier patches and two S-patches to blend n (n > 2) quadrics. Bi-cubic rational B′ezier patches are used to G 1 -continuously blend each pair of adjacent base surfaces. These patches enclose two n-sided holes. And an S-patch is used to fill each hole, which keeps nearly G 1-continuity. Explicit formulas of control points for both B′ezier patches and S-patches are derived from their constraint conditions, which make modeling by blending quadrics very simple and convenient. In addition, the shapes of the blending surfaces can be intuitively adjusted by free parameters.

The paper gives an overview on experimental observations of the failure behavior of electrically insulating and conducting cracks in piezoelectric ce- *** experiments include the indentation fracture test,the bending test on smooth samples,and the fracture test on pre-notched(or pre-cracked)compact ten- sion *** electrically insulating cracks,the experimental results show a com- plicated fracture behavior under electrical and mechanical *** data are much scattered when a static electric field is applied.A statistically based frac- ture criterion is *** electrically conducting cracks,the experimental results demonstrate that static electric fields can fracture poled and depoled lead zirconate titanate ceramics and that the concepts of fracture mechanics can be used to mea- sure the electrical fracture ***,the electrical fracture toughness is much higher than the mechanical fracture *** highly electrical fracture toughness arises from the greater energy dissipation around the conductive crack tip under purely electric loading,which is impossible under mechanical loading in the brittle ceramics.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the analgesic effects of Tuina on neuropathic pain(NPP)and the underlying ***:Forty-eight Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were assigned by random into three treatment groups:sham,chronic constriction injury(CCI),and *** group contained sixteen *** model was generated by ligating the right sciatic *** changes of CCI were assessed by the paw withdrawal threshold(PWT)and paw withdrawal latency(PWL).In addition,biochemical techniques such as immunofluorescence staining,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and Western blotting were used to profile levels of microglia activation and inflammatory factors in the spinal dorsal horn(SDH)of ***(clockwise pressing and rubbing)was performed at Chengshan(BL57)to observe the analgesic effects on CCI rats and the underlying ***:Rats with CCI experienced significant reduction in the PWT and PWL of the right hind paw relative to CCI group at day *** treatment rescued this situation significantly on days 10 and ***,Iba-1,microglia M1 receptor CD68,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)were higher in the right SDH for CCI group compared to the sham group on day *** expected,Tuina partially downregulated the CCI-induced overexpressed Iba-1,CD68,TNF-α,and IL-1βin the SDH of CCI ***:Tuina induces a time-dependent cumulative analgesic effect in CCI rats by inhibiting the activation of microglia and the secretion of IL-1βand TNF-αin SDH.

Understanding the host-guest interactions for thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)emitters is critical because the interactions between the host matrices and TADF emitters enable precise control on the optoelectronic performance,whereas technologically manipulating the singlet and triplet excitons by using different kinds of host-guest interactions remains ***,we report a comprehensive picture that rationalizes host-guest interaction-modulated exciton recombination by using time-resolved *** found that the early-time relaxation is accelerated in polar polymer because dipole-dipole interaction facilitates the stabilization of the 1CT ***,an opposite trend is observed in longer delay time,and faster decay in the less polar polymer is ascribed to theπ-πinteraction that plays the dominant role in the later stage of the excited *** findings highlight the technological engineering singlet and triplet excitons using different kinds of host-guest interactions based on their electronic characteristics.

Fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))and ozone(O_(3))double high pollution(DHP)events have occurred frequently over china in recent years,but their causes are not completely *** this study,the spatiotemporal distribution of DHP events in china during 2013–20 is *** synoptic types affecting DHP events are identified with the Lamb–Jenkinson circulation classification *** meteorological and chemical causes of DHP events controlled by the main synoptic types are further *** show that DHP events(1655 in total for china during 2013–20)mainly occur over the North china Plain,Yangtze River Delta,Pearl River Delta,Sichuan Basin,and Central *** occurrence frequency increases by 5.1%during 2013–15,and then decreases by 56.1%during 2015–*** main circulation types of DHP events are“cyclone”and“anticyclone”,accounting for over 40%of all DHP events over five main polluted regions in china,followed by southerly or easterly flat airflow types,like“southeast”,“southwest”,and“east”.Compared with non-DHP events,DHP events are characterized by static or weak wind,high temperature(20.9℃ versus 23.1℃)and low humidity(70.0%versus 64.9%).The diurnal cycles of meteorological conditions cause PM_(2.5)(0300–1200 LST,Local Standard Time=UTC+8 hours)and O_(3)(1500–2100 LST)to exceed the national standards at different periods of the DHP *** pollutant conversion indices further indicate the rapid secondary conversions during DHP events,and thus the concentrations of NO_(2),SO_(2) and volatile organic compounds decrease by 13.1%,4.7%and 4.4%,*** results of this study can be informative for future decisions on the management of DHP events.

BACKGROUND Post-stroke epilepsy is a common and easily overlooked complication of acute cerebrovascular ***-term seizures can seriously affect the prognosis and quality of life of ***(EEG)is the simplest way to diagnose epilepsy,and plays an important role in predicting seizures and guiding *** To explore the EEG characteristics of patients with post-stroke epilepsy and improve the detection rate of inter-seizure epileptiform *** From January 2017 to June 2020,10 patients with post-stroke epilepsy in our hospital were *** clinical,imaging,and EEG characteristics were *** stroke location,seizure type,and ictal and interictal EEG manifestations of the patients with post-stroke epilepsy were then retrospectively *** In all 10 patients,epileptiform waves occurred in the side opposite to the stroke lesion during the interictal stage;these manifested as sharp wave,sharp-wave complex,or spike discharges in the anterior head lead of the side opposite to the *** In EEG,epileptiform waves can occur in the side opposite to the stroke lesion in patients with post-stroke epilepsy.

Although there has been significant advancement in the identification and management of colorectal cancer(CRC)in recent years,there is still room for improvement in the current standard treatment *** area of concern is the lack of reliable tumor markers to predict treatment efficacy and guide tailored *** to its dynamic,effective,and non-invasive benefits over tissue biopsy,the detection of minimal or molecular residual lesions(MRD)based on circulating tumor DNA(ctDNA)is beneficial to the clinical development of drugs for patients with CRC after radical treatment,as well as for continuous monitoring of tumor recurrence and malignancy molecular gene *** detection of ctDNA can currently be used to guide individual postoperative auxiliary treatment decisions(upgrade or downgrade treatment)in CRC,stratify the risk of clinical recurrence more precisely,and predict the risk of recurrence in advance of imaging examination,according to a large number of observational or prospective clinical *** increasing clarity comes the possibility of selecting a regimen of treatment based on postoperative ctDNA,which also improves the accuracy of clinical recurrence risk assessment for ***,it is anticipated that the identification of ctDNA would alter the current framework for dealing with CRC and lead to individualized,stratified precision therapy;however,additional confirmation will require subsequent high-quality,prospective,large-scale randomized controlled *** article will provide an overview of the definition and clinical significance of MRD,the primary indications and technological challenges for MRD detection,along with the advancement in clinical research about ctDNA detection following radical resection of the CRC.
