Yinggehai Basin is an elongate Cenozoic rift basin on the northwestern margin of the South China Sea continental *** thick (～17 km) basin fill is characterized by high geothermal gradient and high *** associated with nonequilibrium compaction mainly occurs at depths more than 2.00 m at the basin center and more than 4000 m at the basin margin because the shallow-buried Neogene and Quaternary strata lack effective seals. This regional overpressure distribution,however,is disrupted at basin center where high overpressure occurs in permeable formations at a depth as shallow as 1400 m on top of a series of deep-seated faults and *** studied the processes and mechanisms of overpressuring via numerical modeling that couples basin filling, sediment compaction,and thermal and pressure fields to approach the origin of the shallow high *** results indicated that an increase of fluid volume due to natural-gas generation by organic cracking is not large enough to generate the overpressure because of the limited amount of organic *** shallow overpressure has probably been generated *** open faults have served as vertical hydraulic conduits and channeled the deep high pressure into shallow permeable formations.

Soil salinity is one of the major abiotic stresses in plant agriculture strongly,influencing plant productivity *** affects many biochemical and physiological processes of plants and markedly reduces crop *** halophila(salt cress) is a halophyte and has been used as the most salt tolerant model plant *** genes have a high sequence identity (90-95%at cDNA level) to genes of its close relative Arabidopsis *** qualities are advantageous not only in genetics but also in comparative proteomics and transcriptomics such as gene expression profiling using Arabidopsis cDNA *** this study,we provided compelling evidences on the salt tolerance mechanism in salt cress through comprehensively analyzing the morphological,transcriptomic and proteomic responses of *** leaves to 0, 2.0,400,and 600 mM NaCl *** analysis using light microscope, transmission electron microscope and laser scanning confocal microscope revealed that salt accumulation stimulated the expansion of chloroplast and leaf *** with the flame emission and X-ray microanalysis,the main elements in the high-salinity treated T. halophila leaves were determined and the results revealed that salt treatment could increase both the sodium and chloride contents whereas decreased the calcium and potassium *** was also found salt treatment resulted in remarkable increase of total proteins in the cytoplasm of exodermis ***,comparative proteomic approaches were employed to investigate salt responsive proteins in leaves of *** under different *** results demonstrated that significant variations existed in several hundreds of proteins out of 2.00 highly reproducible protein spots on 2.DE *** these,2.1 proteins were positively identified via MALDI TOF/TOF MS/MS,with 185 having assigned *** them,the majority was carbohydrate metabolism and energy production related pro
