This is the first report of using the microwave heating technique to synthesize calcium sulphide activated by europium whose structure is determined as the face-centered cubic by conventional X-ray powder diffraction method. The phosphor has maximum excitation peaks located at 280 urn and 560 urn and the maximum emission of the phosphor is 630 nm. When the concentration of Eu^(2+) in CaS increases from I .0 × 10^(-5) to l.0 × 10^(-2) mole per mole host, the body colour of the calcium sulphide activated with europium changes from white, through light-red to pink to deep-red. The phosphor obtains the longest afterglow at the concentration of 0.1% Eu^(2+)doped and is a kind of good material excited by sunlight.

The high-dense nanocrystalline BaTiO3(BT)ceramics with grain size smaller than 100nm have been successfully prepared by the two step sintering and the spark plasma sintering(SPS)*** successive transitions in nanograin BT ceramics from rhombohedral to orthorhombic,tetragonal and cubic transitions,similar to those in coarse BT ceramics,were revealed by in-situ temperature dependent Raman *** multiphase coexistence and the diffused phase transition character were demonstrated in the 8nm nanocrystalline BT ceramics.

AIM:To study the bioactive constituents from the frass of Daphnis nerii reared on Catharanthus roseus ***:Compounds were isolated and purified by various chromatographic *** structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic ***:Seven compounds were isolated and identified as serpentine(1), 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid(2),sweroside(3),ursolic acid(4),ursolic acid-3-O-β- D-glucopyranoside(5), 3-O-(β-D-glucopyranosyl)ursolic acid-28-O-(β-D-glucopyranosyl) ester(6),andβ-sitosterol(7). CONCLUSION:Compounds 1-7 were reported from the frass of *** reared on the *** leaves for the first *** 2 and 4 showed antibacterial activity,and compound 4 showed cytotoxic activity against K562 and SGC-7901.

A total of 973 isolates of endophytic fungi were recovered from 1144 tissue fragments of the six me-dicinal plant species belonging to 4 families collected in the Beijing Botanical garden. Of these isolates 778 sporulated and were identified into 21 taxa by morphological characteristics. Among the taxa 11 belonged to Coelomycetes, 6 to Ascomycetes, and 4 to Hyphomycetes. Various numbers of endophytic fungi (5―8 taxa) were obtained from each plant. Alternaria alternata was the dominant species in the 6 plants, and Microsphaeropsis conielloides was also dominant in Eucommia ulmoides. There were high colonization rates (47.9%―63.1%) and isolation rates (0.7―0.93) of endophytic fungi, and they were conspicuously higher in twigs than those in leaves in the 6 plants examined. The colonization and isolation rates of endophytic fungi increased with the twig age. The results based on the analyses of cluster and Sorenson's similarity coefficients indicated that some endophytic fungi showed a certain degree of host and tissue preference.

[Objective]The aim was to study on effects of additives of traditional Chinese medicines on biochemical indices of blood of Wenchang chickens in hainan. [Method]About 180 female Wenchang chickens were divided into five groups at random with three repetitions for every group and twelve chickens for a repetition. Group 1 was control group and the chickens were fed with basic forages; the 2nd group was control group of antibiotics and the chickens were fed with basic forages and 600 mg /kg of aureomycin; group 3,4 and 5 contained 0. 1%,0. 2% and 0. 3% of the additives respectively,besides basic forages. Chickens at average weight were chosen six from every group on 35th and 56th days,respectively, to prepare serums for biochemical indices of bloods and analyze effects of additives on the indices. [Result]Serum cholinesterase activity and albu- min content were both improved by 0. 1%,0. 2% and 0. 3% of the additives （ P 〈0. 05） ; activity of alkaline phosphatase was enhanced,and serum cholesterol was lowered both by 0. 2% and 0. 3% of the additives （ P 〈0. 05） . [Conclusion]Additives of traditional Chinese medicines have an ac- tive effect on blood biochemical indices of Wenchang chickens.
