A kind of macroporous bead carrier of copolymer containing monomer units of N-aminoethyl acrylamide and vinylalcohol was synthesized, i.e. the MR-AA carrier. Papain was immobilized on the carrier using glutaraldehyde as the couplingagent. The enzymatic activity of the immobilized papain was compared with free papain using casein as a substrate, and theeffects of glutaraldehyde concentration, pH, temperature, time and papain amount added on the activity recovery were alsoinvestigated. The results show that the MR-AA carrier contains reactive primary amine groups, hydrophilic amido links andhydroxyl groups, as well as macroporous structures based on its matrix (MR-AV matrix), furthermore, the activity recoveryof papain in the immobilization could reach 48%/～58%. In comparison with free papain, the resulting immobilized papainexhibits a remarkable thermostability and better reusability.

Pugionium(Brassicaceae)is a small genus that occurs in central Asian *** interspecific delimitation and taxonomic treatments of this genus are disputed and its phylogenetic origin remains unknown. In the present study,we examined these issues based on morphological and molecular data obtained for the first *** used statistical methods to examine inter-and intraspecific morphological *** results suggest that only two species,namely *** and ***,can be warranted for all examined populations and specimens,whereas three species(***,***,and ***)should be incorporated into P. *** delimitation was further supported by the molecular data:all populations of ***,P. calcaratum,***,and *** shared the same internal transcribed spacer genotype,whereas those from *** had another *** analyses of Pugionium and representative genera of Brassicaceae based on ndhF sequences suggest that this genus is sister to the genus Megacarpaea,which,together,comprise a well-supported lineage with Farsetia,Lobularia,Iberis,and Ionopsidium,whereas the two other genera that were previously suggested to be closely related to this genus(Isatis and Bunias)were placed in the other *** further discuss the origin of Pugionium and suggest that it probably originated in central Asia when the climate became drier from the late Miocene.

Considerable debate remains as to which DNA region should be used to barcode *** different chloroplast(cp) DNA regions(rbcL,matK,and trnH-psbA) and nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed regions(ITS) have been suggested as suitable barcodes in ***,low-copy nuclear loci were also suggested to be potentially ideal barcode *** aim of the present study was to test the effectiveness of these proposed DNA fragments and five additional low-copy loci(CHS,DET1,COP1,PGIC1,and RPS2;comprising both coding and non-coding regions) in barcoding closely related *** examined the divergences within and between two species of Pugionium(Brassicaceae).We failed to find any interspecific variation from three cpDNA fragments with which to discriminate the two ***,a single base mutation in the internal transcribed spacer(ITS) could discriminate between the two species *** found more variations among all individuals of the two species using each of the other five low-copy nuclear ***,only alleles from one locus(DET1) of the five low-copy loci related to ?owering regulations was able to distinguish the sampled individuals into two *** failed to amplify the corresponding fragments out of Brassicaceae using the designed DET1 *** further discussed the discrimination power of different loci due to incomplete lineage sorting,gene ?ow,and species-specific *** results highlight the possibility of using the nuclear ITS as a core or complementary fragment to barcode recent diverged species.

AIM: To investigate the effects of areca on the contractile activity of isolated colonic muscle strips in rats and mechanism involved. METHODS: Each strip (LMPC, longitudinal muscle of proximal colon; CMPC, circular muscle of proximal colon; LMDC, longitudinal muscle of distal colon; CMDC, circular muscle of distal colon.) was suspended in a tissue chamber containing 5 mL Krebs solution (37 degrees C), bubbled continuously with 950 mL.L(-1) O(2) and 50 mL.L(-1) CO(2). The mean contractile amplitude (A), the resting tension (T), and the contractile frequency (F) were simultaneously recorded on recorders. RESULTS: Areca dose dependently increased the mean contractile amplitude, the resting tension of proximal and distal colonic smooth muscle strips in rats (P3; the resting tension of LMDC decreased from 0.71 +/- 0.14 to 0.03 +/- 0.01; the mean contractile amplitude of LMPC increased from -45.8 +/- 7.2 to -30.5 +/- 2.9; the motility index of CMDC decreased from 86.6 +/- 17.3 to 32.8 +/- 9.3; P0.05). CONCLUSION: Areca stimulated the motility of isolated colonic smooth muscle strips in rats. The stimulation of areca might be relevant with M receptor partly.

The worldwide fallout of caesium-137 (137Cs) associated with the nuclear weapon tests during the 1950s and 1960s has provided a valuable man-made tracer for studies of soil erosion and sediment delivery. But relatively few researchers have used it to estimate wind erosion. In this note, the 137Cs technique is introduced into the studies of wind erosion and its modern processes inthe Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Two 137Cs reference inventories of 982.11 and 2 376.04 Bq · m-2 wereestablished preminarily, distributed in the south and middle-north parts of the studied arearespectively. By analyzing the patterns of 137Cs depth profiles from sampling sites, the aeolianprocesses of erosion and deposition in nearly 40 years have been revealed, i.e. the shrub coppicedunes (S1) and semi-fixed dunefields (S3) experienced the alternation of erosion and deposition,while the grasslands (S4, S6 and S7) and dry farmlands (S5) suffered erosion only. In the four decades from 1951 to 1990, the six provinces or autonomous regions (Xinjiang, gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xizang and Nei Monggol) reported a total of 26 065surgical cases of hydatid disease, most of which were reported in the recent decade. About one third of the patients was children and adolescents under 15 years old. So far, cystic hydatid infections of local origin have been confirmed in 22 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in the whole nation. Findings of X-ray examination and real-time B-mode ultrasonography in agricultural and pastoral areas of Xinjiang, gansu, Qinghai,Ningxia and Xizang showed that the morbidity rate of hydatidosis in human population varied between 0.5% and 4.5%. The main animal intermediate host in all these regions is sheep, the morbidity of which varied between 3.3% and 90%. The infection rate of adult Echinococcus granulosus in dogs varied between 7% and 71%. The high-risk period for humans contracting hydatid disease is the pre-school age. Direct contact of children with dogs and ingestion of water, vegetables and foods contaminated by worm eggs are the chief mode of transmission for human hydatidosis. The common practices of home slaughter and of feeding dogs on offal containing hydatid cysts facilitate the life cycIe of the *** the basis of hydatid control efforts for several years, the Ministry of Public Health promulgated officially the '1992-1995 National Programme for Hydatid Disease control'in April, 1992, and pilot studies in which the control of hydatidosis is composed of extensive health education, sanitation of slaughtering and management and deworming of dogs are being *** echinococcosis has wide distribution in china and is a major public health problem in hyperendemic areas, poses a great threat against people's health and influences the development of livestock husbandry. Growth characteristics and response to climate change of Larix Miller tree-ring in china

As one of the earliest species used in dendrochronological studies, Larix responds sensitively to climate change. In this study, nine larch species and one variety from eleven sites were collected to study the growth characteristics of tree-ring width using dendrochronological methods. Ten residual tree-ring chronologies were developed to analyze their relationships with regional standardized anomaly series by Pearson’s correlation analysis. The results suggest that most of the chronologies had significantly positive correlations with the mean temperature and mean maximum temperature in May. The spring temperature evidently limited the radial growth of the larch species without precipitation control. The largest mean tree-ring width was found in Himalayan Larch in Jilong, whereas Master Larch in Si’er reflected the smallest mean value. Both species presented little climate information in this study. Chinese, Potanin, and Tibetan larches are significantly correlated with climate change, implying a huge potential for climate history reconstruction. The elevation of the sampling sites appears to be an important condition for tree-ring growth of larches responding to climate factors.

采用Li—6200光合分析仪,对祁连园柏和青海云杉两种针叶树种的光合速率进行了日变化和季节变化测试,结果表明:祁连园柏和青海云杉两种针叶树种的光合速率日变化均呈单峰曲线,两种树种的光合速率日变化峰值均出现在1日之中的9:00时,其中青海云杉光合速率日变化峰值为9.06μmol/(m^2·s)祁连园柏光合速率日变化峰值是7.154μmol/(m^2·s)。两种树种光合速率在季节变化中青海云杉有两个峰值分别在5月和8月分别为3.124,3.497μmol/(m^2·s);而祁连园柏的光合速率在季节变化中只有一个高峰值在5月份,为2.96μmol/(m^2·s)。两种树种的光合速率及其内外影响因子相关分析得出:青海云杉Pn与RH、COND两因子之间呈极显著正相关关系(r=0.632 6与r=0.688 4);与CINT、RS因子呈极显著负相关关系(r=-0.4620与r=-0.5740)。祁连园柏Pn与RH因子呈极显著正相关关系(r=0.412 6);与其它因子呈不显著正或负相关关系。两种针叶树种的WUE在生长季节变换中,青海云杉WUE较高值在5月和8月分别为0.636 98和0.532 4,平均WUE是0.315 6;祁连园柏水分利用效率WUE较高值在5月和6月分别为0.263 1和0.280 5,平均WUE是0.132 8。
